Death in Paradise (2011)

Meditated in Murder - S7-E6

Continuity mistake: JP presents the key after his visit to Dread Locks; Tobi Bakare is holding the plastic bag in a different way throughout the scene (just one finger in the reverse shots) and at towards the end he lowers his hand in a shot but it's again up in the next. (00:27:10)

Meditated in Murder - S7-E6

Plot hole: One of the guests is a journalist going undercover. The police finds him out because...they google his name, "Bryn Williams journalist" (no quotation marks), but then not finding anything (and Jack says so despite actual results being visualized, but he dismisses them at a glance) Florence has a stroke of genius and says "William Bryn then." And this time the googling pays off, with a search result page that says, literally, that he's an investigative journalist "known for going undercover to investigate", apparently being a master at that having won prizes! In all this amazing silliness, it appears quite impossible that they wouldn't know his real name, since they already identified the suspects and ran background checks, which in every episode always include checking with immigration when they entered Saint Marie. He couldn't have entered the country under a fake name.

Written in Murder - S7-E3

Factual error: Jack listens to an interview with the fictitious novelist Frank O'Toole who appeared on BBC 4's Radio Island Discs. The episode is labeled "Fri 9 Nov 1989", but November the 9th in 1989 was a Thursday, not a Friday. (00:16:00)

Murder on the Day of the Dead - S7-E5

Continuity mistake: Hugh Davenport runs off when the two police officers walk by. Jack comments on that; in the first shot, Florence lowers her hand while the wind blows. Second shot, both hands hold the evidence bag mid-waist and there's no wind. (00:20:30)

The Healer - S7-E4

Continuity mistake: Florence proposes to dance, and Jack says no; when she replies "Whatever you say, sir" the bottle of Etensel beer in her hand shows the logo. Cut, and the actress is holding the bottle in a different way, with the back label on display instead. (00:51:20)

The Healer - S7-E4

Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the scene with Jack and Florence asking the Reverend about the old engagement, Jack shot from the front moves in between questions as he interacts with his colleague, but the stand-in whose arm can be seen in foreground during Steve Toussaint's lines is perfectly still and never moves an inch. The Healer - S7-E4

Continuity mistake: After the chat with the nephew of the victim, Jack is back at the police station and he rhetorically asks if the others managed to solve the case while he was away. Dwayne answers from his desk "Sorry Chief, not quite", being in a different position in close-up than in the wider shot. (00:24:55)

Continuity mistake: After making an excuse with Darlene, Dwayne tells JP the rule one of the datebook. Tobi Bakare has entirely different posture and facial expression even with Dwayne's statement in continuity between shots. (00:15:50)

The Healer - S7-E4

Continuity mistake: In the initial meeting with the suspects, Jack refers to Steadman King 's activity as "the faith-healing malarkey." He is making a gesture pointing at the pastor, but midway through it there's a cut and his hand in the foreground is firmly planted into his pants' pocket instead. (00:08:15)

Death in Paradise (2011)

Written in Murder - S7-E3

Continuity mistake: When Florence reads the morning note left by the victim, in close-up she's holding it in a different way than in the following view; from one hand it goes to both hands, and the Bic pen in the second shot passes between index and middle, not the case in close-up. (00:06:35)

Continuity mistake: On the beach after identifying the murder weapon as a knife, Jack walks off and says that there are 1,000 ways to kill a man. Officer Dwayne Myers is holding the camera at belt level and with both hands, but in the next close-up on Ardal O'Hanlon he's in the background with the arm down his side, the camera reaching the knee. The Stakes Are High - S7-E2

Character mistake: Dwayne tells Jack on the crime scene that the victim (who had two aces, with one ace on the board) he had "three of a kind or as the pros say, trips." Pros don't say "trips" to that though, since "trips" happens when two cards matching one you have in hand are on the table. Holding the pair makes it a "set." (00:06:25)

Murder from Above - S7-E1

Plot hole: The murder as described makes kinda sense (it's a device used in other works of fiction), but not at all as shown; the person hiding in the bathroom closes the door to the point of making it click, and opens it also with a click. Even panicked, the other person in the room is going to hear the sound of a lock right behind him. The door should have been closed only partially. Moreover, the bathroom door is right by the front door closed just by the door chain, and Philip Marston had the door unlocked and with just the chain to break; the bathroom door was fully in his view the whole time.

Murder from Above - S7-E1

Other mistake: The text message used as ploy to cover up the murder was sent at 17:44, but during the flashback showing the killer setting up the murder scene, a wristwatch on the vanity is at about 10 o'clock. (00:44:25)
