Killing Me Softly (2002)

Corrected entry: After knowing each other just a few days, Adam proposes to Alice and they get married the next day. Under British law, you cannot get married until the registry office has had your notice for at least 15 days. (00:36:00)

jle

Correction: Notice does not need to be given for marriage in the Church of Wales or Church of England. The church requires a notice called a Bann to be arranged with Church. As it is a family church, this wouldn't be a problem to arrange at short notice.

Casino Royale (1967)

Corrected entry: When Mata arrives in Berlin, East and West are shown side by side with the wall separating them. In reality there was a 100 meter wide no-mans' land between 2 walls. Breaking a hole in the wall, as shown when Mata is leaving, would not allow dozens of East Germans to easily escape to the West. (01:09:00)

jle

Correction: It's a joke.

Emma (1996)

Corrected entry: During the opening credits a map of Great Britain is shown (to help those who don't know where London is). Many of the rivers on this map are completely wrong. For example the Medway doesn't start south of London, and there is a river flowing North through the Surrey/Hampshire area which, given the hills there, isn't possible. (00:01:30)

jle

Correction: The map shown during the opening credits is a drawing made by Emma herself, so she drew London and the town they're living in.

Thirteen (2003)

Corrected entry: When Tracey and Melanie are buying clothes from the van, many of the people walking past slow down or stop and look at the camera. (00:09:20)

jle

Correction: Maybe they are just watching them buy stuff because it actually isn't that normal to have a van in the middle of the street selling clothes, is it?

Correction: This is an example of pythonesque humour (pythonesque IS a word, look it up in the dictionary). Don't you think it a bit funny that he rattle off lots of names and have three riders go by? Maybe it's just me.

Underworld (2003)

Corrected entry: The vampires invent a bullet that contains a silvery metallic liquid - they claim it is silver nitrate. Pure silver nitrate forms white crystals; in solution it is colourless. (00:38:50)

jle

Correction: They didn't say it was PURE silver nitrate. If someone says they have a gold watch, that doesn't mean it's pure gold.

Hudson Hawk (1991)

Corrected entry: Minerva Mayflower says that gold and lead are 1 proton apart. Gold is element 79, lead is 82 - that's 3. (01:04:40)

jle

Correction: Character error, not movie error.

U Turn (1997)

Corrected entry: While Grace is talking to Bobby on the phone she is holding a pack of cards. In some shots the 2 of clubs is on the bottom, in others the queen of spades. (01:18:30)

jle

Correction: When we see Grace with the 2 of clubs, there is then a very long shot of Bobby on the other end of the phone. Cut back to Grace, yes the card has changed, but she easily could have shuffled the cards.

Hamster

Correction: Since they are hurrying to the court before the credits end he could have forgotten it on the bus.

Correction: This is the British way of spelling it. The spelling is correct.

Corrected entry: When the Angels enter the Caulfield house the police tape is still across the door. When they leave it's gone. (00:20:55)

jle

Correction: They're in the house long enough for the police tape to have been removed.

Paycheck (2003)

Corrected entry: When the machine is being described, it is stated that Einstein's theories proved that time travel is impossible. In fact, his work on relativity show that time travel is theoretically possible and Einstein, not believing or liking this, spent some time trying to find a way to prove otherwise, without success.

jle

Correction: Einstein's theories stated that time travel would be possible if we could travel faster than the speed of light, however, his theories also stated that it is impossible for us to travel faster than light, as we have a mass. However, since light has no mass, it can be (theoretically) accelerated beyond the threshold, which is what the science of this movie is based upon. What Einstein spent much of his life trying to refute is quantum theory, not time travel.

Corrected entry: During Charlotte and Bob's first conversation in the bar Bob has a napkin and glass of whiskey on a coaster in front of him. As the conversation ends, there is a wider shot of the couple and Bob's napkin and glass jump; the glass is now much further away from him than in the previous shot.

jle

Correction: The two shots are not necessarily in continuous succession. There are several scenes which consist of little clips linked to each other, for example when Charlotte sits in the chair before Bob slips the note under the door.

Lost in Space (1998)

Corrected entry: The banana/beef 'meal' that Don opens is half yellow/half pink. He gives it to Blarp and the CGI version of the bar is brown. (00:55:40)

jle

Correction: It is half brown, not pink, Don took a bite from the yellow part, leaving the brown part to be seen before Blarp quickly gobbles the whole thing down.

Dark Star (1974)

Corrected entry: Doolittle says they travelled 14 light years to get to the Magellanic clouds. These 2 galaxies are really about 170,000 light years away. (00:07:30)

jle

Correction: He didn't say he travelled 14 light years from Earth. We have no idea where his starting point was - it could have been anywhere in the Universe.

Casino Royale (1967)

Corrected entry: While photographing Evelyn Tremble, Ms Lynd says she's going to use a 500th at f2. With normal indoor lighting and with no flash, that is not at all appropriate. (00:55:15)

jle

Correction: You don't have enough information to make the call. To decide whether 1/500 at f2 is 'appropriate' you must know the film speed - its ASA rating. At ASA100 1/500 will be underexposed at f2, but at ASA1000 it will be overexposed under the conditions we see. If she is using ASA600 low speed film I'd expect her to get a pretty good result, particularly if she was using black and white film.

Corrected entry: During Marylin and Massey's wedding, Marylin is holding a bouquet of flowers. In the front view, she is holding them low by her waist. From behind she is holding them higher, by her chest.

jle

Correction: I didn't notice any difference. If there's one it's way to small to account for a mistake.

NancyFelix

Correction: Actually, they fall onto the table itself. They are still there during the rest of the sketch.

M*A*S*H (1972)

Correction: They were surprised the General knew her nickname, which was created in the movie after the two Majors "enjoyed" themselves.

200 Cigarettes (1999)

Corrected entry: Between the time Bridget gives the matches to the taxi driver and the shot in which she walking towards Caitlyn by the door, Caitlyn is no where to be seen. (01:22:45)

jle

Correction: Caitlyn gave the matches to the cabbie, not Bridget. That was her method of picking up men.
