Corrected entry: During Rimmer's appeal against his 9,000 year sentence for second degree murder, Kryten's entire defence strategy is proving that Rimmer is "a jumped-up grease monkey" who would never be trusted with critically important repairs on the Red Dwarf - that is, the drive plate. The court accepts this and Rimmer is released. The trouble is, Rimmer WAS trusted with the drive plate repairs and he WAS responsible for the crew's death. Kryten's defence is wrong, and on the court's terms the charge is correct and Rimmer is guilty. It's not as if Rimmer and Kryten believe Rimmer is too dumb to be guilty - they know the facts of the case and they are under 'polygraphic surveillance'. Their opinions don't count, the facts stand, and Rimmer is doomed.
Correction: Kryten's argument was that whoever gave Rimmer the orders to repair the drive plate was at fault, and not Rimmer, as he was not properly trained to repair something as critical as a drive plate. Rimmer, never one to doubt his superiors, decided that he was at fault, so was found guilty in the first place.
Wrong. Read the posting again. Kryten's entire defence strategy is proving that Rimmer is "a jumped-up grease monkey" who would never be trusted with critically important repairs on the Red Dwarf - that is, the drive plate. The court accepts this and Rimmer is released. The trouble is, Rimmer WAS trusted with the drive plate repairs and he WAS responsible for the crew's death. The fact that other people are equally responsible for the disaster is irrelevant. Rimmer was as guilty as anyone.

Corrected entry: When the fat man drops a cinder block on a manhole cover, the cover falls in the hole. This could not happen as manholes and their covers are shaped and sized as they are (circular) so as to make it impossible for the cover to ever fall through the hole.
Correction: The cinder block appears to break the manhole cover on its descent, making it possible.

Corrected entry: During the first shot at the Museum of Natural History, when it shows the Neolithic mans penis, you can see that the hairy man is circumcised. During this time, thousands of years ago, they did not have the technology nor the ability to circumcise. (01:45:00)
Correction: Perhaps he wasn't - he may not have had a foreskin to begin with. Penises of other animals (especially hairy ones) don't have them, and you can assume that they only started to appear in humans when they became less hairy.

Corrected entry: Despite being set in England, all telephones give the US style "single ring" rather than the UK's "double ring".
Correction: The ring depends on the telephone, not the network or location.

Corrected entry: Why would Dr. No want to kill Bond by placing a tarantula in his bed? Tarantula bites, while painful, aren't usually fatal. A black widow or a brown recluse spider would have been a better choice, as both of those spiders' bites usually result in death or paralysis. (Black widow or brown recluse bites are rarely fatal to healthy adults. Any spider is a bad bet as a murder weapon.)
Correction: They were obviously hoping the shock of being bitten would be sufficient to kill him. Regardless, this is a character decision.

Corrected entry: Alan tells the Travel Tavern staff that he went to see E. L. O. at the Birmingham NEC in 1976. This can't be true because it wasn't built until 1978.
Correction: It opened in early 1976, and it would have been likely that Birmingham City Council would have used E.L.O. (who are Brummies themselves) to perform there to promote it.

Corrected entry: The black police officer keeps giving information about the police activities to McClane over the same frequency that he knows the terrorists are using. I also doubt he would be allowed to just use the police radio for chit-chat in such a situation.
Correction: The officer could argue McClane is someone 'on the inside' - i.e. someone who knows the situation well and can be trusted. As for the frequency, the radio may be designed to transmit on several frequencies - the frequency that the Police use will almost certainly be one (in case of emergencies).

Corrected entry: When Bond and Kissy climb to Blofeld's volcano, it takes them from early morning to evening to complete the trip. However when Kissy gets reinforcements, the double journey merely takes minutes rather than hours.
Correction: When Bond and Kissy go up the first time, they are careful - the volcano could be active or they could be spotted if going up too quickly. When Kissy returns it could be assumed that SPECTRE agents are otherwise preoccupied and wouldn't notice anyone coming up the volcano.

Corrected entry: We learn in this series and at The End of series 7 that the nanobots have 'resurrected' the entire crew and red dwarf itself. If this is so where is Kristine Kochanski? The Kochanski we see is from a different dimension. So when the Starbug crashland on Red Dwarf, surely Captain Hollister who had them arrested would have been a little confused as two Kochanshkis would have been present. And as Kochanski is a Navigation Officer, surely she would have had a lot of contact with the Captain?

Corrected entry: It's established that Rimmer's shift of technicians get useless, irrelevant jobs (such as repairing chicken soup machines) - so why would Rimmer have been trusted to repair a drive plate that, if not repaired properly, could (and in fact did) lead to the deaths of the whole crew?
Correction: Perhaps it was too urgent to leave for another shift. If the ship was in danger, wouldn't you get the shift on duty to repair it pronto?

Tree House of Horror II: A Simpsons Halloween - S3-E7
Corrected entry: When Homer buys the severed hand, the person selling it says "I strongly advise you not to purchase this item". Then why is he even selling it in the first place if he'd advise people not to buy it?
Correction: He may only want certain people (such as those he does not like) to buy it. He's advising Homer not to buy it as he's done no wrong in the seller's books.

Corrected entry: Even though Legion has shown he is completely willing to hurt the Dwarfers, he stands by and does nothing while Kryten takes nearly two minutes incapacitating Lister, Cat and Rimmer, thereby incapacitating Legion. (00:23:35 - 00:25:10)
Correction: He hurts the Dwarfers by self-mutilation (he is a composition of all of them). He might not be able to attack them directly.

Corrected entry: The German maid in Mieke's family is supposed to be deaf but she knows to answer the door when Scott rings the doorbell.
Correction: She may be able to feel the vibrations given off by the sound, which would be strong considering doorbells are normally quite loud.

Corrected entry: If women are being changed by implanting chips, not altering their internal organs, why do they act like machines, like when they "spit" money?
Correction: Perhaps some of the wives ARE robots. It is possible that some men when they moved to Stepford were divorced or were not married at all - and would have wives manufactured for them. The ATM option may be an optional extra (albeit a gross one).

Corrected entry: After Nana Moon has had brain surgery to help treat her memory loss, it's amazing she isn't missing a single hair from her head. If she had really had surgery she would have had the hair removed from at least part of her head.
Correction: It may not be obvious loss of hair. My sister had brain surgery several years ago, and although it did mean some hair removal, the affected area was small enough to be covered up.

Corrected entry: When the Blues Brothers are racing to the tax assessor's office towards the end, there is a quick shot of the speedometer of the Bluesmobile. Right when they cut to it, you hear dubbed engine sounds and a manual transmission up-shift. The Bluesmobile had an automatic transmission.
Correction: The kind of transmission makes no difference to the engine noise - the clutch is still engaged on an automatic, and the gears STILL change.

Corrected entry: When Debbie's father is at the party and tells Rick that Debbie will break it off when she finds out about the party, O'Neil tells him that there's a phone in the back bedroom. Debbie's father then leaves, presumably to use the phone. O'Neil then asks all the hookers to follow him and they go after Debbie's father. Then Debbie arrives at the party dressed as a hooker. Rick's friends recognize her and tell Rick who says "Go up to her like you don't know who she is and send her into the back bedroom". They do so but when Debbie gets to the back bedroom its empty. Shouldn't her father, O'Neil and the hookers be in there?
Correction: It's obvious there is more than one bedroom in the suite they are having the party.

Timeslides - S3-E5
Corrected entry: When Lister changes the past so he does not get stuck on Red Dwarf, Rimmer is still there as a hologram, but he was only revived in order to keep Lister sane. If the history of Red Dwarf still remained the same (the radiation leak, Red Dwarf flying 3 million years into deep space etc.), despite Lister's absence, the captain would have surely been the only one revived as the most senior person on board. However, if for some reason, Rimmer WAS revived as a hologram, then he would have no memory of Lister as he would never have met him. Also, Kryten would still be aboard Nova 5, would never have discovered the developing fluid and would not have been able to show it to Lister anyway, so Lister could have never gone back to his 17 year old self to give him the tension sheet, therefore this whole episode is a paradox of itself and the Universe will now implode. Well, that's what you get for messing with causality.

Corrected entry: In the DI's office, there is a poster on the wall that says "Targets for CID - 2003/03". This should read "Targets for CID - 2003/04".
Correction: Not necessarily - it could be referring to March 2003.
