Deliberate mistake: Haddock draws an X on the shark image of Calculus' box with a pencil. This was done as a visual gag, though the X mark is far too thick for the pencil that Haddock was using. (00:07:00)

Continuity mistake: When Tintin meets up with Thomson and Thompson at the market, the detectives have tanned skin. The shot cuts to Tintin asking the two of them "A little Sunday shopping?" and then cuts back to a shot of all three of them. In the shot where it shows all three of them, Thomson and Thompson's skin is suddenly much paler, while Tintin is darker. (00:02:25)

Continuity mistake: Whilst at the market, Tintin meets up with the detectives Thomson and Thompson and the detective on the left says "Good to see you again." The detective on the right is holding four canes. In later shots he's holding five, then six. (00:02:25)
