Continuity mistake: When Tintin is about to buy the model Unicorn, there is an antique sale visible in the background. When Tintin says "Will you take 20 dollars?", a grandfather clock is shown, displaying 5:05. A couple of shots later, Sakharine pushes Tintin out of the way and the time suddenly changes to 2:00. The Secret of the Unicorn: Part 1 - S1-E3
Continuity mistake: Tintin is cleaning his apartment after it had been ransacked and is hanging a painting on the wall. From the wide angle, the skyline on the painting shows a clear blue daytime skyline. The shot cuts to a closer angle of Tintin, and the painting suddenly shows a dark blue near night time skyline. Other mistake: When Tintin discovers the scroll under his drawers, he begins reading the French words on the scroll in English. He starts reading out by saying "Three brothers joined." This sentence translated into French would be "Trois freres rejoint." However, this is not what is shown on the scroll. The sentence shown on the scroll appears to be "Trois freres unys." (00:09:20)

Other mistake: After discovering the scroll, Tintin begins reading it out. The words on the paper, the words Tintin is saying, and where Tintin's eyes move as he read the paper don't seem to match up. Tintin first says "Three brothers joined", which covers the first half of the line, but the next shot then shows his eyes reading at the very end of the line. Tintin then says "Three unicorns in company sailing in the moon day sun will speak", and his eyes are then reading across the second line, but the start of the sentence is shown on the second half of the first line of the scroll. Continuity mistake: When Captain Haddock shows Tintin the journal that belonged to Sir Francis Haddock, it's brown. Much later on in the episode, after Haddock has finished telling Tintin about the story of Francis Haddock, the journal is suddenly much lighter. (00:11:40 - 00:19:45)

Continuity mistake: When the pirates are partying, one of them throws a wine bottle towards the tied up Francis Haddock. One of his hands is shown tied and wrapped in ropes. The shot then switches to a close-up of his hand, which is now wrapped around the ropes tying his body to the mast, and not the other ropes shown a second ago. (00:17:10)

Revealing mistake: Francis Haddock lowers himself from the ropes to the lifeboat below. He steps foot inside the boat, but the bottom of his legs and his feet are still perfectly visible when they should have been covered up by the boat. This error in the animation makes the boat appear as if the boat is missing one of its sides. (00:18:50)

Continuity mistake: Tintin, Haddock and Snowy are walking down the street and Haddock says he's going to be rich and tosses his hat in the air. There is a lamppost right next to Tintin. A man then opens his window, telling Haddock to keep the noise down and Tintin is suddenly standing about a foot away from the post. (00:26:20)

Continuity mistake: When Tintin, Haddock and Snowy are walking down the street, they stop walking for a moment next to a lamppost. The shadow of the post is first cast across the building next to it. About two shots afterwards, the shadow is suddenly cast on the sidewalk directly in front of it. (00:26:20)

Continuity mistake: Thomson shows Tintin that he has had an elastic band attached to the wallet in his pocket as an attempt to catch the pickpocket. When they first use, the wallet with the elastic band is in Thomson's right pocket. In the next scene, when the pickpocket attempts to steal Thomson's wallet, it is now inside his left pocket. Continuity mistake: Tintin, Haddock, Snowy and the detectives are back at the office after getting the pickpocket's coat and Tintin's wallet. Tintin opens his wallet and takes out the scroll inside it. When he takes out the scroll, the scroll is smooth and undamaged. He then hands the scroll to Haddock and it is suddenly tattered. Other mistake: Tintin is in the treasure room whilst the Bird brothers are looking for him. After the brother with the gun shoots the knight armour, Tintin is crawling around the room far behind them, and pops his head up where he can see them. About 2-3 seconds later, he is then shown as a mirror reflection the brothers are tricked into thinking is real, nowhere near his previous spot. 4 seconds after that, Tintin is hiding behind a cupboard at the other end of the room, that the brothers just quickly run by. Stupidity: When the Bird brothers are searching the treasure room for Tintin, one of them claims they have found him, and points. The other brother then shoots at him which was turns out to have just been a mirror reflection. The brothers then proceed to find Tintin and start by going straight forward, completely in a different direction than the mirror. If they wanted to find Tintin, wouldn't the more logical thing to do be simply look in the direction the mirror was pointing at? The whole point of a mirror is to reflect what is in front of it, so Tintin would probably have been standing in that direction anyway. (00:37:25)

Continuity mistake: Tintin is in the courtyard of Marlinspike Hall and convinced he has escaped the Bird brothers. Tintin then gets whacked on the head by the butler with a long stick. In the shot where Tintin gets hit, the stick is very thick. The shot then changes to the butler saying "I got him" and the stick is suddenly much thinner. (00:39:30)

Continuity mistake: After Snowy bites the hand of the Bird brother with the gun, Tintin punches both of them and knocks them out. One of the brothers lands with his legs landing on the bottom half of the other brother's right leg. Captain Haddock then appears in scene and now the brother suddenly has his legs placed on the top half of both the other brother's legs. (00:40:10)

Character mistake: Mr. Silk has a collection of the wallets he has stolen and has sorted them on shelves by alphabetising them. Each shelf takes two letters of the alphabet, which is where the name of each owner's wallet would be placed on the shelf as shown by tags at the top of each shelf. Tintin finds Max Bird's wallet on one of the shelves and the shelf next to has a tag reading "Q-R." This implies that the shelf with Max Bird's wallet must have a tag reading "O-P" since O and P come before Q and R in the alphabet. Shouldn't Max Bird's wallet be located on a shelf with the letter "B" representing "Bird" or "M" representing "Max"? (00:42:20)

Continuity mistake: Mr. Silk is showing Thomson and Thompson to the door whilst Tintin exits with the scrolls and Max Bird's diary. When Tintin exits Silk's room whilst saying "Mr. Silk who made the mistake, gentleman", Tintin is holding the scrolls and the wallet and nothing is sticking out of the wallet. Tintin then exits the room handing the wallet to the detectives, and there are suddenly papers sticking out of it. (00:42:45)

Continuity mistake: Tintin picks up a red book at the market which he states is a new one. At this moment, he is holding the book with the front cover facing Tintin. The shot then changes to a shot from behind Tintin, showing him paying for the book, where it switches to the back cover facing him. (00:02:15)

Other mistake: When Tintin pays for the new book at the market, his hand is placed on the spine of the book. Tintin then lowers the book towards his side and his hand is suddenly placed along the opposite end of the book. This entire mistake occurs in one shot. (00:02:15)

Other mistake: When Tintin is reading out the scroll, the scroll is in French and Tintin is reading it out in English. The first word on the second line is "conserve", which means "preserve" in English. The word "preserve" however is never spoken when Tintin reads out the scroll. (00:09:20)
