Trivia: Early on in the movie, Sam is watching Star Trek with Leonard Nimoy, who also plays Sentinel Prime. Also, Wheelie's comments on the episode are relevant to Sentinel Prime. (Just replace the word Spock with Sentinel Prime).
Trivia: When the Autobots are driving up to the spaceship as they are about to leave Earth, the music that is playing is a variation of "Arrival to Earth", the music that played when the Autobots first arrived in Transformers.
Suggested correction: This is not wrong but it also played when the Autobots returned. Did you know that the Bumblebee: The Score has been used in Bayformers?
Trivia: Leonard Nimoy voices Sentinel Prime and towards the end of the movie he has the line "The needs of the many, outweigh the needs of the few". This is the same as his line from Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan, where he plays Mr Spock.
Trivia: Leonard Nimoy was also the voice of Galvatron in the animated series full-length feature film released in 1986. Galvatron was a rebuilt and revamped Megatron and was leader of the Decepticons.
Trivia: During the freeway sequence, you can see shots from The Island, another Michael Bay film. Most noticeably is when the Decepticon lands on top of the Dodge Magnum and it splits in half.
Trivia: The film contains several references to the 1980s animated series. The basic plot of the Decepticons enslaving humanity and using a space bridge to bring Cybertron to Earth was used in the three-part episode "The Ultimate Doom." Megatron sits in the chair of the Lincoln Memorial in "Atlantis, Arise!" And Optimus Prime's battle axe was first seen in "More Than Meets the Eye," the three-part debut of the animated series.
Trivia: When Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin are exploring the Ark, the Transformer head they first dig up greatly resembles Optimus Prime's G1 head.
Trivia: There are two scenes in the highway chase sequence that are taken directly out of Michael Bay's film "The Island". The scene where one of the Decepticons lands on a car's hood and the scene where you see a SUV being flipped in the air when the Decepticons are running. Both scenes are just edited a bit to be part of the Transformers movie. Here's a YouTube video on these scenes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7kcqB3thJM.
Trivia: In the scene where Laserbeak is disguised as a copier, the sounds his buttons make are actually the Transformers theme song.
Trivia: Remember Sideways, the Audi R8 Decepticon Sideswipe sliced in half in the opening scene of Revenge of the Fallen? Well, he has a cameo, in which his fate is no more fortunate than it was last time around: he is the one who Optimus Prime stabs in the chest and swings around during the Rage.
Trivia: There is a sound effect which is used twice. It's first used in Revenge of the fallen when Optimus breaks Megatrons arm and shoots him with it. Megatron makes a growling noise during the slo-mo shot of parts falling off his face, after that optimus blasts him through the ancient building. It's then used in Dark if the moon during the shot Just after Sentinel is floored by a rocket from a soldier, he runs away on all fours and transforms into his alt mode and is then tackled by Optimus. During Sentinel's transformation the growling sound effect is used again.
