Jurassic Park

Continuity mistake: As Dr. Settler is examining the triceratops, her left hand is very close to the dinosaur's left eye. After the cut, her left hand is nowhere near the dinosaur's eye. (00:48:00)

Suggested correction: Perhaps he just wanted to exit the helicopter first, so he switched places when the helicopter had touched down. You can see they had already undone their seatbelts, so they had time to move around before the door opened.

lionhead

Continuity mistake: When Grant nearly passes out after first seeing the Brachiosaurus, he sits down on the grass. In the following shot, he is shown kneeling.

Continuity mistake: After the kids have greeted Hammond, everyone is outside the building waiting to see the vehicles. In the first angle they are several meters to the right of the stairs. When the angle changes they have moved back and are standing closer together.

Sacha

Continuity mistake: In the scene from behind Dr. Grant we can see the cow being lifted straight up. You can see that the cow is rather close to Dr. Grant. Then the scene cuts and the cow is already in the middle of the top of the Velociraptor paddock. Judging from the distance between Dr. Grant and the paddock from the previous wide-shot, and the fact that Dr. Grant made no big moves, the crane couldn't pass that distance between the two shots. Continuity mistake: In the scene with Dr. Grant and Lex standing nose-to-nose with the T-Rex, the dinosaur sniffs at the humans, then turns its attention to pushing the Explorer around as Grant and Lex scramble for safety. When the T-Rex starts pushing the Explorer, a profile shot shows that the monster's foot is no more than two yards from the vehicle; yet, in the immediate next shot from the monster's point of view, the T-Rex is obviously positioned 10 or 15 yards away from the Explorer, much too far away to be pushing the vehicle.

Continuity mistake: After the first T-Rex attack, Tim's rover is still stuck in the tree, and Dr. Grant and Lex arrive at the base of the wall adjacent to a gushing storm drainage pipe. Dr. Grant assures Lex that he will return and goes to assist Tim. Whimpering, Lex clambers up to take shelter in the drainage pipe. However, there is now an inexplicable blue light glowing from deep inside the drainage pipe, illuminating Lex.

Continuity mistake: In the final rotunda scene, when the rex is chewing the first velociraptor, there is a skeleton piece (a herbivore tail) hanging beside it. In the next shot, when the second velociraptor jumps rex, this piece of the skeleton is no longer there.

Henrique Zimmermann Tomassi

Continuity mistake: When the car first falls down the tree, you can see the adjustable headlight on the right tilts forward. In the next shot when the car hits the branch just before it hits Dr Grant, it does the same thing again. However in the next shot, the headlight is once again facing forwards. (01:17:10)

Christaffa

Continuity mistake: When Nedry hears the Dilophosaurus and turns around, he's holding a tow cable. It's gone in the next shot.

Suggested correction: Between shots you can see how he releases the winch cable before turning.

Continuity mistake: The T-rex completely destroys the outdoor bathroom facility that the lawyer ran into. The lawyer is perched atop the toilet and the remaining damaged wall behind him is tilted backwards. When the camera cuts to a shot where the lawyer is seen from behind and the T-rex is just about to eat him, the wall is missing. When it cuts back to a front shot, the wall is back again.

Continuity mistake: When the car with Tim and Lex is turned over, mud flows into it and it's like they are going to drown. But when seen from the outside, next to the tracks is a firm gravel road, and Dr. Grant doesn't even sink in when he steps out of his car with the flare.

Jacob La Cour

Continuity mistake: When Ian Malcolm jumps out of the jeep to wave the flare at the T-Rex, there is strange mark on his forearm. When he starts to run from the T-Rex, with his arm still in the air, the mark is gone.

SheWhoLovesMovies

Continuity mistake: When Ian uses water to explain chaos theory to Ellie he drops the first water droplet on Ellie's hand and she immediately begins to tilt her head to the left to follow it. The very next shot shows Ellie's head has turned to the right. (00:47:40)

Continuity mistake: When Lex saves Tim's life in the kitchen, she goes into shelter. When the Dinosaur chases Lex's reflection she is facing the dinosaur's face, but in the next shot her reflection has changed by 90°.

Cloude2

Continuity mistake: When the T-Rex escapes, the lawyer leaves the door open. Next scene, the door is closed. Then open, then closed again. Then open for Timmy to close it. Also, when the T-Rex escapes, he walks away between the trucks. The tail is already passed them. Then the girl turns the spotlight on, and the T-Rex is back to where it started. Hasn't crossed between yet.

twstr988

Continuity mistake: Tim finds the goggles and puts them on. He climbs into the back seat and Lex watches him. The scene cuts to outside the car and Lex is looking forward.

manthabeat

Continuity mistake: The two cars are stuck in front of the T-Rex enclosure and after the lawyer got out and ran away and left the kids in it, the driver's door is open, then shut in two other shots and then back to open.

Continuity mistake: When Tim is looking at the night goggles, Lexi says something to him. She continues to look at him for a second. Then in the next shot she suddenly has her back to him.

Jurassic Park mistake picture

Continuity mistake: When Nedry meets Dogson he cries "We've got Dogson here!" with the green napkin bundled inside his fist. From the opposite angle a big chunk is standing out.

Revealing mistake: In the scenes where there's a video link to the docks shown on computer, there's a bar moving along the bottom of the screen, showing us that it's actually a video that's just playing on the computer. (00:52:05)

John Hammond: All major theme parks have had delays. When they opened Disneyland in 1956, nothing worked, nothing.
Ian Malcolm: But, John, if the Pirates of the Caribbean breaks down, the pirates don't eat the tourists.

Trivia: The T-Rex roars are a combination of tiger, elephant, alligator, whale, and dog sounds.

Question: Are the people present at the digging site when they're discussing new approaches to analyzing skeletons supposed to be paleontologists in dr. Grant's group? If so, why would they laugh at his musings of "how dinos learned how to fly"? And why would he have to explain it to them? Seemed to me like he is explaining very basic stuff to the people that would already know this (and of course, to the movie audience).

Answer: They are not paleontologists, just people interested in dinosaurs. It is common for museums and other scientific organizations to offer the general public an opportunity to participate in a real paleontology dig. For a fee, they become an exhibition team member for a period of time, learn about dinosaurs, help excavate fossils, and so on. This is likely how Dr. Grant (or his institution) supplements his research funding.
