Deliberate mistake: Throughout the movie, you can see the size of true-size Rosemary, particularly her waist and legs. Notice the size of undies she was going to purchase when she and Hal first meet. Notice the size of her bathing suit bottom. However, in the scene where she throws her purple nightie undies at Hal and he catches them: the panties are WAY TOO BIG. Especially the leg holes, which could go around her true-size waist.
Shallow Hal (2001)
1 deliberate mistake
Directed by: Peter Farrelly, Bobby Farrelly
Starring: Jack Black, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jason Alexander, Joe Viterelli

Continuity mistake: In the scene where Hal is confronting the two guys that made fun of Rosie he points to Rosie outside the restaurant and her shoes change from brown and black clogs (which is what she was wearing throughout the scene) to a plain black slide. Watch, it is totally obvious because they show her shoes several times before they suddenly change.
Trivia: Brianna Gardner, who played Cadence the little burn victim girl, is the daughter of the movie's makeup artist Tony Gardner. She can be seen with him in the movie's closing credits.
Question: After the Tony Robbin's episode, Hal is supposed to see the true inner self of women reflected in their appearance. So what's with the chick across the hall? Her appearance doesn't change even though she is portrayed to be somewhat less than kind and shallow in her own right. Am I missing something?

Answer: Tony Robbins tells Hal that whenever he meets someone in the FUTURE he'll only see what's inside them. He already knows what the woman across the hall looks like so her appearance doesn't change, same goes for everybody else he's already seen before.
dan coakley..
Also remember she thinks he is shallow, does not mean she is a bad person herself...she went out with him once already.
This is the same reason why Rosemary's father looks the same either way as well. Hal said he's already seen him around the office (before being hypnotized).
