Revealing mistake: When the Ikes are throwing food off the roof at the Brand X army, Mrs. Butterworth says "Take that, dear" whilst throwing pancakes from a large pile towards the army. The first pancake she throws lifts itself off the pile before she touches it. (00:55:10)
Continuity mistake: The Brand X general has two of his soldiers squirt glue over the door to the office, but when he has the soldiers cut the power a few minutes later, the glue has disappeared from the door. (00:43:50 - 00:46:20)
Character mistake: When Dex discovers Hairy Hold, Maximillius, Lola and Mr. Clean looking over the dead bodies, Dex asks who had died and Maximillius tells him that the dead bodies are of everyone who they threw out of the Copa-Banana earlier on, but Dan and Lady X are the only ones missing. However, a few scenes later, at the U.S.D.A meeting, many of the people who were present at the Copa-Banana and threw out are present at the meeting and are not dead. (00:24:35 - 00:26:50)
Continuity mistake: When Dex and Dan run into the doctor's laboratory, Dex runs in first, followed by Dan who trips whilst walking in. Dan is then shown tripping over and over, with one shot of Dan tripping facing the laboratory, and the second shot of Dan tripping facing the doorway, but in neither shot is Dex anywhere in sight. Dex then suddenly reappears a few shots later. (00:37:20)
Revealing mistake: Many of the animated extras shown outside the red carpet at the Copa-Banana are shown waving and cheering, but not at any actual person walking along the red carpet. They just appear to be cheering towards the carpet, but there is no-one standing or walking in the direction they are looking towards. (00:16:45)
Character mistake: When Dex is rescuing the three baby kittens from the Fat Cat Burglar, he says to the burglar "I'm giving you one last chance to hand him over before I cash in your coupons for you." The Fat Cat Burglar is holding three kittens hostage, so in this context, Dex should have said "hand them over" and not "hand him over." (00:02:55)
Suggested correction: He says "hand ‘em over" (meaning "them"), not "him."
He says "hand him over", not "hand ‘em over." This is evident by the fact that there is a distinct H heard, plus there is also a distinct I heard after the H, showing that he says "hand him over" and not "hand ‘em over." It is possible the line "hand ‘em over" was written in the script, but that is not what is heard onscreen.
I watched the scene several times to verify prior to making the correction and I heard ‘em every time.
Audio problem: When Vlad is telling Dex that all the lightning rods are in place, his audio sounds very unnatural, as if the sound mix was incomplete during post production. (01:08:15)
Other mistake: To save Sunshine from the general, Dex pulls on a rug to make sure the general falls backwards. However, Sunshine was also sitting on a chair on the same rug, but both her and the chair are unaffected by the rug being pulled. (01:14:05)
Plot hole: After Lady X is taken away, the doctor arrives with an antidote that can bring the Ikes back to life, which he then gives to Polar Penguin who is just sitting in a Copa-Banana chair in the middle of the street. What exactly was Polar's dead body doing there? Last time he was seen, he was at the Copa-Banana and had died from his injuries, but his body is shown sitting in a chair in the middle of the street. The doctor creating an antidote that would undo his injuries was completely unplanned, so there is no real reason for his body to be out in the middle of the street like this. (01:20:45)
Audio problem: All of Francois Fromage's audio sounds completely off. There is an unnatural echo in his voice, as if the audio was not mixed properly during post-production. (00:49:55)
Revealing mistake: The Brand X army are visibly just the exact same character design, duplicated over and over.
Plot hole: When Dex and Dan get separated in the store, Dex flies in a bottle of pop to retrieve Dan, but there is nothing attached to the bottle that is allowing it to fly. It is just floating in the air, with no explanation as to how it is doing so. (00:41:05)
Revealing mistake: The exact same shot of Mr. Leonard's car beginning to pull out of the store after closing Marketropolis is used three different times in the movie. The first time is one minute into the movie. The exact same shot is used 11 mins 55 secs into the movie after Brand X visits. The third time is 41 mins 55 secs into the movie after Dex and Dan get into the office. This shown by the car being parked in the exact same place, the car showing the exact same movements and the car hitting a trolley, all positioned in the same place, on each occasion. (00:01:05 - 00:11:55)
Continuity mistake: When Cheasel realises he is standing on a train track, he says to Dex "You despise me, don't you?" As he says this, watch the building in the background, directly behind him. In the next shot, Cheasel has suddenly moved, as shown by his position in relation to the building. (00:16:20)
Plot hole: When Dex is rescuing the baby kittens from the Fat Cat Burglar on the hot air balloon, whilst it is flying over the city, the four hairless hamster henchmen fly off the balloon and plummet down onto the street. Dex then saves the baby kittens and lands in the park, where two of the henchmen are shown landing in the park after plummeting. Three problems with this. 1) The henchmen fell before Dex saved the kittens and made his way down to the park, so how did they land on the ground long after Dex landed on the ground? 2) How did they land in the park if they plummeted from above a street? 3) How are there only two henchmen shown landing when four of them were shown falling all at once? (00:04:30)
Other mistake: When Cheasel attempts to cut the wires to the telephone pole, he takes out a chainsaw, bumps into a wire with the chainsaw slanted, then bumps into part of the pole with the chainsaw straight. He chops through the pole at a straight angle, but the area where the pole begins to detach from was never touched by the chainsaw. (01:11:00)
Continuity mistake: When Sunshine is about to be killed by the general, she has her hands tied to the chair. She then manages to untie her hands to throw Dex a raisin, but after the general has been killed, Dex then unties her hands again. (01:14:10)
Other mistake: When Cheasel is about to be trapped by the wrecking ball, he is shown with his head and neck visibly extended whilst the ball is shown placed over his back. The wrecking ball then crushes Cheasel but his head and neck are crushed along with him, even though the ball was only shown landing on his back. (00:30:25)
Continuity mistake: At the start of the scene where Dex is standing outside the Brand X building, the scene zooms in towards Dex and there is nothing on either side of him. A couple of shots later, a rope and grappling hook have appeared from nowhere. (00:30:30)
Continuity mistake: When the woman with the baby in the store throws Dan out of the shopping trolley, Dan is thrown onto a trolley with Brand X products. Whilst he is being thrown, the Brand X products are seen in the far background, and there is only one row of Brand X products shown in the trolley. When Dan hits the trolley in the next shot, there are now suddenly two rows of Brand X products, stacked on top of each other. (00:40:50)
