Continuity mistake: When Dex is being interviewed in the park, he is holding the basket of baby kittens that he rescued. He is never shown handing the basket to anybody else, but just seconds later, as everyone leaves and Dan arrives in the scene, the basket of baby kittens has suddenly vanished. (00:04:30)
Revealing mistake: In the opening shot, when it pans towards Mr. Leonard and the old lady, the street lamp that is positioned to the right of Mr. Leonard's car begins to pass in front of the car even though it is placed on the other side of it. (00:00:20)
Continuity mistake: When Mr. Leonard is closing up Marketropolis, there is nothing behind his car, but when he begins to back out of the parking lot seconds later, a shopping cart has suddenly appeared behind his car. (00:00:20 - 00:01:05)
Continuity mistake: When Mr. Leonard is closing Marketropolis, he switches off the 'Marketropolis Market' sign, but when Mr. Leonard leaves the store, the sign is suddenly switched back on again. (00:00:30 - 00:01:05)
Continuity mistake: When the reporter tells Dex this is his 500th case solved, there are extras in the background cheering. One of them to the right of shot is a man with ginger hair, moustache and beard. In one shot, he is wearing a light beige blazer, purple bow tie and white shirt, but in the next shot, when the reporter asks what is his secret, he is suddenly wearing a brown jacket, green bow tie and black shirt. (00:04:30)
Continuity mistake: When Dex and Sunshine get married, Dex stomps on a milk carton which sprays milk across the stage, but in the next shot, the milk has disappeared. (01:21:35)
Continuity mistake: When Dan's plane is descending into the tree, there are two groups of gnomes shown near the tree after Dan breaks through a window. A couple of shots later, in another angle of the plane descending, there is now only one group of gnomes standing near the tree. (00:14:30)
Continuity mistake: When Dex and Sunshine are having dinner in the park, as Dex says "I'll be fine. Have to be. To make sure nothing bad happens to you", there are various foods on the table in front of him, such as a bowl of apples, a pineapple, a banana split and a bunch of grapes. A couple of shots later, a sundae has suddenly appeared in front of Dex on the table out of nowhere. (00:08:15)
Continuity mistake: A kid playing with Sunshine kicks a melon towards Dan and it splatters leaving goop from the melon all over the ground around him. When Sunshine walks over to Dan a couple of seconds later, the goop from the melon has suddenly vanished from the ground. (00:05:45)
Revealing mistake: When Dex and Sunshine are reunited, the two are face to face, but her eyes do not line with where Dex's eyes or face are located. (01:14:45)
Continuity mistake: When Sunshine punches Lady X back to ugly, there is no one in the background behind her except for Mr. Clipboard, but when she stands up, three people have suddenly appeared, and Mr. Clipboard has disappeared. (01:20:00)
Continuity mistake: When Lady X leaves so the general can kill Dex and Sunshine, Dex pulls on the rug to make the general fall, leaving it pulled and dragged, but in the next shot, the rug is back to its original position. (01:14:05)
Continuity mistake: When the lead Brand X soldier tells his army to retreat after the Ikes throw the food at them, he turns around and sees the army retreating and runs after. When he starts running, shadows cast from the buildings can be seen, but in the next shot, those shadows are nowhere in sight. (00:55:30)
Revealing mistake: When the Ikes are throwing food off the roof at the Brand X army, Mrs. Butterworth says "Take that, dear" whilst throwing pancakes from a large pile towards the army. The first pancake she throws lifts itself off the pile before she touches it. (00:55:10)
Continuity mistake: When the food fight begins, Dex has two sets of two people pour a bowl of hot chocolate over the roof of a building that the Brand X army are attempting to climb. In the next shot, the hot chocolate that is being poured is now only one entire set of hot chocolate. (00:54:25)
Continuity mistake: When Dex and Dan run into the doctor's laboratory, Dex runs in first, followed by Dan who trips whilst walking in. Dan is then shown tripping over and over, with one shot of Dan tripping facing the laboratory, and the second shot of Dan tripping facing the doorway, but in neither shot is Dex anywhere in sight. Dex then suddenly reappears a few shots later. (00:37:20)
Plot hole: When Dex and Dan get separated in the store, Dex flies in a bottle of pop to retrieve Dan, but there is nothing attached to the bottle that is allowing it to fly. It is just floating in the air, with no explanation as to how it is doing so. (00:41:05)
Plot hole: When Dex is rescuing the baby kittens from the Fat Cat Burglar on the hot air balloon, whilst it is flying over the city, the four hairless hamster henchmen fly off the balloon and plummet down onto the street. Dex then saves the baby kittens and lands in the park, where two of the henchmen are shown landing in the park after plummeting. Three problems with this. 1) The henchmen fell before Dex saved the kittens and made his way down to the park, so how did they land on the ground long after Dex landed on the ground? 2) How did they land in the park if they plummeted from above a street? 3) How are there only two henchmen shown landing when four of them were shown falling all at once? (00:04:30)
Continuity mistake: When Sunshine is about to be killed by the general, she has her hands tied to the chair. She then manages to untie her hands to throw Dex a raisin, but after the general has been killed, Dex then unties her hands again. (01:14:10)
Other mistake: When Cheasel attempts to cut the wires to the telephone pole, he takes out a chainsaw, bumps into a wire with the chainsaw slanted, then bumps into part of the pole with the chainsaw straight. He chops through the pole at a straight angle, but the area where the pole begins to detach from was never touched by the chainsaw. (01:11:00)
