Continuity mistake: The way the pink blanket was folded/draped over Motley's head when he was hiding in the second row seat of Danny's truck changed at least two times. The folds were also different when Jed got into the front passenger seat. Motley wasn't supposed to be moving, so it wouldn't make sense for him to have rearranged the blanket himself. Continuity mistake: Max Cameron's classroom appears to be slapped together and inconsistent. The wall is white but later tan. The door hinges are on the right, then left. On the screen, Hugo lifts up a glass to his mouth to take a drink, but when the camera cuts to a close up of the screen, suddenly his arm is lower, and he is once again lifting the glass to his face. Continuity mistake: When two officers go to inform Ronald Whitlock (Bruce Willis) about his sons, Ronald shoots his pistol at the Black officer and hits him near his inner right eyebrow. (A large black spot can be seen between his eyebrows.) When the camera shows the dead officer, the black mark is gone and the bullet hole is on his forehead centered about 2" above his left eye. Continuity mistake: The appearance of young JR's hair has many inconsistencies. For example, JR's parted bangs (on the left) are long enough to hang part-way into his right eyebrow while he is walking toward the bedroom, but his bangs are well above his eyebrow when he is standing in the bedroom doorway. When JR is in bed that night, his bangs are separated along the right side of his forehead, but neatly combed together (no gaps) after a camera shift and contrary to gravity. (00:05:10)

Continuity mistake: When Fenn finds the doll in the tree trunk cavity, shadows are cast in several different (contradictory) directions. If Fenn's shadow was in front of him, he was walking west toward the dead tree; north would be to his right. Examples: The tree's trunk and one branch were casting shadows to the south moments earlier and Geary and the tree were casting shadows to the northwest a little later. Geary's shadow was cast westward when Fenn took his photo with the doll. (00:04:28 - 00:06:47)
Continuity mistake: When Hagmaier is in the Florida State Prison room waiting for Bundy, his hair changes. Initially, his short bangs are straight across the middle of his forehead. Continuity mistake: The glass of Charlotte's orange-coloured drink fluctuates between about three-fourths to two-thirds full, including suddenly changing when she merely starts to bend over to pick up a utensil. Continuity mistake: Sitting (immobile) on the chair, the position of Humpty's head changed a few times. Sometimes his head was facing forward but other times it was at an angle. The height on Humpty's head relative to the top of the back of the chair also changed - from about 3" below to 4" above to approximately.even and 1-2" below.
