Plot hole: The time-line and calendar of events are flawed. Nate (dad) stated Eric will be leaving for college "at the end of next week." Rose saw a portion of Eric's calendar: "17 Orientation [Monday] and 23 First day of school [oddly on a Sunday]." Eric received a cell phone message dated Saturday August 15 asking if he was coming to the party, which he went to.
