Continuity mistake: Javed and his father are in the car and they need Javed's mother and sisters to help push the car to get it started. There is an ornament that looks like a traffic light hanging from the rear view mirror in the car, which can be seen in exterior shots of the car, but disappears when we are looking through the windscreen from inside the car. In the next scene after the car has successfully started, the rear view mirror ornament vanishes altogether.
Continuity mistake: In Sweden Charlotte leaves the dinner and exits outside to argue with Fred. There's a wide shot of them where wind is blowing and moves her fringe, messing her hair completely. In the close-up her hair is perfectly brushed.
Continuity mistake: In the first scene at Grandma's house, she wakes Nicole and Henry up early, and tells him to go make mom some coffee. Between shots there are different continuity errors; at first the sheet is rumpled, then the blanket is covering it entirely, then when Grandma leans in and kisses him you can notice Scarlett's right arm first on her chest then behind her back, and Azhy Robertson's chest is uncovered in the second shot when he was still under the blanket up to his neck earlier. Continuity mistake: When Nicole is telling Stu that he might as well call his gym "Old Hag Bikes", he is looking at her and smiling. It cuts to a close up of him and suddenly he's looking slightly up and off to the side with a pondering face. (00:53:25)
Continuity mistake: The two cucumber slices that Jesper puts in the palm of the Drill Sergeant change position between shots - in particular, in the close-up with Jesper walking away and putting the teacup in his hand as well, the two slices are side by side, while they are instead one on top of the other before and after. Continuity mistake: At the skate park (which is supposed to be Thursday after school), Max is wearing the clothes he wore on Wednesday and Friday - not the clothes he wore in school on Thursday.
Continuity mistake: Throughout the movie in several scenes the living room has 2 couches even up until the Parks are getting ready to leave for their camping trip, 1 big one and one small. The very next scene when the Kims are getting drunk, the small couch has disappeared. This must be to make room for the Kims to slide and crawl out from under the table. The strange thing is when the Parks come back home, they don't notice that one of their couches is missing. It remains missing until the end.
Continuity mistake: When Gatsby and Chan are talking in the taxi, her hair appears to be tucked behind her ear when the camera is on her left but it isn't when the camera is on the right. Every time the camera changes, the difference in her hair can be seen. (00:33:51)
