Audio problem: Just after the car crash, when the zombies are taking Starla, Bill and Kylie yell after her, but they call her Carla.
Plot hole: Not far into the movie, Starla decides to check out the basement to see what Grant's been up to. As soon as the door is opened she reels from the stench and we discover that it's full of rotting meat and dead animals. In reality, the whole house would have smelt like an abattoir for days before hand and the stench would have permeated out into the neighbourhood. A non-airtight wooden door would not have kept that kind of smell located to the basement only.
Continuity mistake: When the girls are told to stop reading their Goosebumps books, and go to bed, they put them down on the bedside table. In the next shot through the window, Jenna is seen putting her book down again.
Continuity mistake: When Bill and Kylie run away from the attacking zombies, they get into the police car and a zombie spits up acid all over Bill's driver side window. However in following shots as they drive away all of the vomit acid has suddenly vanished.
Continuity mistake: When Starla is attacked by Grant, she falls over and knocks a small table down as she falls. When the table hits the floor, the top falls off and rolls on the floor. In the next shot it vanishes.
Continuity mistake: When Kylie is in the bath, and the slug comes in, there is a chair by the window with clothes piled on it. During the scene the clothes on the chair change position.
Continuity mistake: When Kylie tries to get in Jenna and Emily's room, it's locked so she grabs the horse statue to break the door down. In this shot the door is clean. In the next shot as she hits the door with the statue, there are suddenly bloody fingerprints on the door.
Continuity mistake: When Starla is attacked by Grant, her sandals fall off near the back doors. When the police come in, Grant runs off and one of the sandals is knocked off to the side, by his foot. In the next shot the sandal is back where it was in the previous shot.
Continuity mistake: When Grant is watching Starla shampoo her hair in the shower, she spots him, then he yells that he has to go off to work. In the wide-shot all of the shampoo in Starla's fringe is washed out, however in the very next closeup she has shampoo in her fringe.
Continuity mistake: When Kylie is in the bath, and the slug swims inside, in overhead shots the net curtains on the window are closed, but in side shots of the bath they're open.
Continuity mistake: After the slug tries to get inside Kylie's mouth, the remaining blood on her chin differs.
Continuity mistake: When Kylie is in the bath, she takes her cassette headphones out of an empty bowl and begins to listen to her music. Moments later the previous empty bowl now has an item in it.
Continuity mistake: When Grant is making the nest of leaves in his basement the morning after being infected, we see him throw the large bag offscreen. In the next shot the bag is nowhere to be seen. Then in the very next shot the huge bag is suddenly lying on the floor right beside the pile of leaves.
Revealing mistake: Near the end of the movie, when Starla is flung about by Grant, in some shots it is obvious that Starla is replaced with a stunt double, as there is a noticeable hair change in some of these shots.
