Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby

Corrected entry: Ricky Bobby's uniform has Winston cup logo on top right. Pics on magazine covers have the Nextel cup logo on uniform. (00:09:25)

Correction: Ricky stated racing in the Winston cup, the covers show his career progressing, which included the name change to the Nextel cup.

Corrected entry: Ricky and Carley's oldest son is 10 years old, yet they only met after winning his first race and it was still the same season.

Correction: It's not the same season, it's years later. Ricky has gone from winning his first race to becoming the best driver in NASCAR. That doesn't happen in one season.

Corrected entry: After the ENTIRE field of cars wreck they show the winning Old Spice car, completely undamaged.

Ian Hunt

Correction: Yes, but every NASCAR driver has a back-up car, which Cal used.

Corrected entry: When Ricky, Cal, and Lucious are walking outside the hospital, Cal asks Ricky for permission to win a couple of races. However, on the DVD subtitles, it says that Cal asked to win a few, not a couple.

Correction: That makes it a DVD manufacturing mistake- not one of the movie.

Corrected entry: In the bar scene, right after the discussion about putting jelly on a lady, one of the guys starts to tell a joke. The problem is, Ricky and Cal start laughing very loud before the guy even says the second fourth of the joke. I couldn't even hear what he said because Ricky and Cal were laughing so hard. How could they react to the joke if it hadn't even been told yet?

Correction: They must have heard the joke before and thought it was a good one. Not uncommon.

Corrected entry: In the start of the movie Ricky takes over for the laughing clown car and comes in 3rd, despite spending nearly 10 minutes in pit lane - time it took to put on a suit and figure out who was going to drive. It would be virtually impossible to come in 3rd when spending so much time in pit lane. NASCAR is about speed and aerodynamics and coming back from that kind of deficit is unheard of.

Correction: That is the point. Ricky Bobby is such a fantastic driver, that even under impossible odds, he always comes out on top. Also, take into consideration his perfect win record, and the fact that we see him win one of the races by driving the final lap backwords. His skills are basically perfect in every way, hence, his ability to finish third somehow despite being 10 minute behind.

Corrected entry: When we see Ricky as a kid he is right-handed as he writes with his right. Later on, when he is shown as an adult signing autographs, he is left-handed. Will Ferrell is left-handed, the kid who was used for the beginning was right-handed.

Correction: Simply meaning Ricky Bobby is ambidextrous - quite a useful skill for a NASCAR driver.

Corrected entry: Reese Bobby tells Ricky that the saying "If you ain't first, you're last" is a stupid saying that does not make any sense, but he has that bumper sticker on his Chevelle.

Correction: He said that right after his Applebees meltdown. Part of his meltdown including him saying something like "I can't stand it when things are perfect, I have to mess them up." He could have easily just been trying mess up the good thing that he and Ricky had going on.

Nick Bylsma

Corrected entry: During the high speed chase it is clear they are in North Carolina, but the state troopers vehicles are not North Carolina State Trooper vehicles.

Correction: I live in North Carolina and I can tell that the cars during the high speed chase are North Carolina Trooper cars and several of my friends could tell too.

Corrected entry: During the Nextel Cup Qualifying it is Time Stamped at 11:38 am, yet the shadows placed by the people standing in the pit show otherwise.

Correction: Not very specific. How do the shadows show otherwise?

Corrected entry: When Bobby bumps into Susan in the bar it is obvious that there are no lenses in her glasses as you can see a light reflection on the frames but not off the lenses.

Correction: I have worn anti-reflective lenses which do not show light reflection under normal circumstances.

Corrected entry: In the last shot, as they drive away from the race track in the Chevelle, you can see that the road they are on is barricaded at the far end (for filming purposes).

Correction: We can't know if the road is barricaded for filming purposes. There are lots of reasons the road may be barricaded. A washout, road construction, traffic control for vehicles leaving the race track, the possibilities are numerous.

Corrected entry: In the scenes where cars are flipping through the air, the roof flaps never deploy. Roof flaps are the two flaps on the top of the car that always deploy during wrecks, particularly if there is a chance the car could go airborne to keep the car on the ground. They are required safety devices in NASCAR and would definitely deploy if a car was airborne.

Correction: Yes and no. The roof flaps only deploy when the car is going backwards.

Correction: What you say is correct, but, they could simply have failed.

Roof flaps are checked by NASCAR frequently. They don't fail.

Corrected entry: At the beginning of the movie when Lucius is talking about being the laughing stock of Nascar, they refer to Jack McBrayer as 'Lance' when he tries to look on the positive side. However later in the movie he is called (and credited) as 'Glenn'.

Correction: Actually, Lucius does say "Glenn, shut up," so he is talking to the right person.

Continuity mistake: In the long crash scene at the end, the Perrier car loses the front passenger side tire in the initial flip, but in the next shot it is attached to the car again.
