Continuity mistake: When Tintin, Haddock and Skut are spotted by the cruise ship, Muller and the Captain are looking at them through binoculars. Muller is shown standing facing the ocean, holding binoculars, but in the next shot, Muller is suddenly facing with his back to the ocean, with his hands by his side. (00:29:50)

Continuity mistake: When Haddock breaks himself and Tintin out of the cabin, he and Tintin run out to the front deck and notice that the ship on fire. At this moment, Tintin is wearing socks and no shoes, but moments later, when Haddock suggests that they need to find a raft, Tintin suddenly has his shoes on. (00:34:05)

Other mistake: Tintin and Haddock discover that part of the ship is on fire and discover a group of people hiding out under the deck. Haddock then lowers a ladder, down below the deck, so that the others can climb out, but even after every single person down below decks climbs out, the fire has not extended or grown further in any way, even after the time spent letting all the people out. Continuity mistake: When the submarine fires on the cargo ship, Haddock yells "Full speed ahead" and pulls back the lever controlling the speed, but the lever snaps off, leaving it positioned at the SLOW sign, putting the ship in reverse. A few shots later, when Haddock puts a screwdriver against where the lever is place, it is suddenly positioned towards the HALF sign. (00:40:20)

Audio problem: After the submarine surrenders, Rastapopoulos receives a call telling him he better come to the bridge right away. Rastapopoulos then says "All right, I'm coming", but his mouth doesn't move. (00:41:10)

Audio problem: When the news reporter is talking about the Emir's victory, he says that Rastapopoulos is still missing at sea and is presumed drowned, but his lips do not move along with the speech. (00:43:05)
Chosen answer: If Hector was seriously intent on removing King Ottokar's scepter from the glass cage holding it and launching it through the window with the camera, then Hector would have been forced to knock out the two guards so they would not have interfered with Hector's plan as soon as he removed the scepter from the glass. As for Hector, himself, was explained when Tintin was explaining how Hector stole the scepter. Tintin placed a twig inside the camera and it launched out of the camera. Hector would have placed the scepter inside of the camera, and would have been knocked unconscious due to the spring effect created when the scepter had been launched.
