Neogenic Nightmare Chapter 12: Ravages of Time - S2-E10
Revealing mistake: The shot of the Lizard whipping his tail at Silvermane and destroying a wall is recycled footage from the Lizard and Spider-Man's battle in the sewer from the first episode in the series.
Sins of the Fathers Chapter 1: Doctor Strange - S3-E1
Revealing mistake: When Mary Jane and the other servants of Baron Mordo are flying through the city, they literally disappear into thin air. Probably a problem with rendering the 2D animation within the 3D animation. (00:01:00)
Sins of the Fathers Chapter 1: Doctor Strange - S3-E1
Continuity mistake: When Peter wakes up from Baron Mordo's illusion, he is wearing a monk's robe with sneakers and is barehanded. He removes the robe, revealing he was wearing his Spider-Man costume underneath, but his gloves and boots magically appear on his hands and feet as well. (00:09:45)
Sins of the Fathers Chapter 1: Doctor Strange - S3-E1
Continuity mistake: The hole in Dr. Strange's wall created by Baron Mordo's servants changes size and shape when Spider-Man is hanging Dr. Strange out the window. (00:10:25)
Sins of the Fathers Chapter 1: Doctor Strange - S3-E1
Revealing mistake: The same shot of debris falling from the ceiling in Baron Mordo's lair is used twice. (00:14:25 - 00:15:45)
Sins of the Fathers Chapter 1: Doctor Strange - S3-E1
Continuity mistake: After Spider-Man, Mary Jane, Dr. Strange and Wong escape from Baron Mordo's lair, the lair itself disappears into thin air because of, according to Wong, the fluctuation of diminishing portal energy. When Spider-Man is saying farewell to Dr. Strange, the lair is there again. (00:18:30 - 00:19:05)
Sins of the Fathers Chapter 3: Attack of the Octobot - S3-E3
Factual error: When Spider-Man and Doc Ock are talking in the lab, at one point, a shot of Doc Ock's face shows Spider-Man reflected in each side of his sunglasses. However, Doc Ock's glasses have a singular lens, and the straight angle of Spider-Man's reflections suggest that the glasses are in no way curved, so Spider-Man should only be reflected in them once.
Sins of the Fathers Chapter 3: Attack of the Octobot - S3-E3
Continuity mistake: When Doc Ock is being taken away in handcuffs at the end of the episode, his mechanical arms are missing. The arms were fused to his spine, so the police couldn't have confiscated them.
Sins of the Fathers Chapter 3: Attack of the Octobot - S3-E3
Continuity mistake: When Doc Ock is about to unmask Spider-Man in his lab, there is a brief shot of Doc Ock standing under a night sky. This is from their rooftop battle in the previous scene/episode.
Sins of the Fathers Chapter 6: Framed - S3-E6
Plot hole: After Peter Parker is framed and arrested for selling government secrets to foreign organizations, he escapes police custody and goes home to retrieve his Spider-Man costume that was simply hanging in his dark room. If he was arrested for selling government secrets then surely the police would have searched his home and found his costume (as well as equipment) in the process. Since the police car was visible in front of his house, it seems very strange that police didn't search his home.
Sins of the Fathers Chapter 7: The Man Without Fear - S3-E7
Plot hole: They forgot Daredevil can sense when someone's lying, one of his powers. So, he should've known Spider-Man was telling him the truth about the computer disk.
Sins of the Fathers Chapter 7: The Man Without Fear - S3-E7
Continuity mistake: When talking with his father and Smythe, Richard Fisk's grey pants briefly turn into the same color as his suit jacket.
Sins of the Fathers Chapter 7: The Man Without Fear - S3-E7
Revealing mistake: During the fight with Kingpin recycled footage is used from Season 1 Episode 7 Doctor Octopus: Armed and Dangerous. It's obvious when you see the background looking like the warehouse along with Doc Ock's machine behind Spider-Man.
Sins of the Fathers Chapter 8: The Ultimate Slayer - S3-E8
Factual error: Despite being a paraplegic, when Smythe is about to be lowered into the vat of chemicals, his legs are pretty toned and muscular. The show implies that Smythe had been wheelchair-bound for a long time, so even if he had muscular legs prior to his paralysis, the muscles would have atrophied.
Sins of the Fathers Chapter 8: The Ultimate Slayer - S3-E8
Other mistake: When Kingpin is berating Smythe over his failure to kill Spider-Man, the camera footage Kingpin is showing of Spider-Man is merely clips from previous episodes.
Sins of the Fathers Chapter 11: Carnage - S3-E12
Continuity mistake: When Carnage escapes from prison a shot of venom escaping is used before changing back.
Sins of the Fathers Chapter 13: Goblin Wars - S3-E13
Revealing mistake: Several shots of the Green Goblin are recycled from the earlier episode "Enter the Green Goblin," with some of them being used multiple times in this episode.
Partners in Danger Chapter 4: Return of Kraven - S4-E4
Continuity mistake: When Kraven is climbing the cage, it briefly changes color from silver to red.
Partners in Danger Chapter 5: Partners - S4-E5
Other mistake: When baby Silvermane is secured to the platform, his arms are long enough to reach inside the restraints. Considering he is physically a baby, the mistake is that the animators either goofed and drew him to be a little older, or that his arms are disproportionately long.
Partners in Danger Chapter 5: Partners - S4-E5
Audio problem: When Vulture asks Scorpion to turn the TV back on, his mouth isn't moving.
Answer: In the comics, Hobgoblin's true identity was kept a mystery for a long time intentionally and while many fans deduced it was Kingsley, and creator Roger Stern was leaning that way, Stern left the series in 1984. In 1987 Hobgoblin's identity was revealed to be Ned Leeds and then Macendale became Hobgoblin. It wasn't until 1997 that Sterns wrote the mini-series "Hobgoblin Lives" and retconned Kingsley as the original Hobgoblin.
