Question: Was the script for the sixth season written before this show was cancelled?
Question: Why did they go with Jason Macendale as Hobgoblin instead of the original one, Roderick Kingsley?
Answer: In the comics, Hobgoblin's true identity was kept a mystery for a long time intentionally and while many fans deduced it was Kingsley, and creator Roger Stern was leaning that way, Stern left the series in 1984. In 1987 Hobgoblin's identity was revealed to be Ned Leeds and then Macendale became Hobgoblin. It wasn't until 1997 that Sterns wrote the mini-series "Hobgoblin Lives" and retconned Kingsley as the original Hobgoblin.
Question: Why does Herbert Landon hate mutants so much? Why is he so prejudiced towards them?
The Wedding - S5-E1
Question: If Felicia doesn't even like Peter as a friend and has never shown any interaction with Mary Jane then why was she at their wedding?
Chosen answer: Felicia and Peter's friendship in this series was depicted as being on-again-off-again. At this point in the series they may have been on good terms. Plus Felicia is a wealthy socialite and Peter and Mary Jane's wedding was a big event due to Wilson Fisk paying for all of it.
Question: Why were animators constantly repeating footage throughout the entire series? For me, this method was totally nonsensical because it led to numerous continuity errors. For example, in the episode "Enter the Punisher," Spider-Man lacked his extra arms in one shot because the footage was used from a different episode. Why were animators doing this?
Question: Is Tombstone a zombie or undead?
Answer: He's neither. In the comics he was an albino who later was mutated to give his superhuman strength. He filed his teeth into points as a way to scare others. In this Spider-Man cartoon, his physical appearance, including his teeth, and strength was the result of falling into chemicals at the plant. However, he never died as a result of falling into the chemicals, some only thought he had died.
Question: How come The Chameleon never speaks here or in any other episode he's in with his actual voice?
Answer: The producer, John Semper Jr., claimed that he couldn't imagine Chameleon risking revealing his identity by using his real voice. Chameleon can speak in his true form but simply chooses not to.
The Alien Costume: Part 3 - S1-E10
Question: Why did this design of Venom have light blue and pink on the outside? Something to do with the animated style?
Answer: I believe it was just a way to try and show the suit is "oily" or reflective. It also helps define the character's features since otherwise, he'd just be a flat black color. It's similar to how the black suit Spidey had blue outlines. (I don't know why they chose a pink/red color... maybe because red is associated with power/fire/war, so it's a more "evil" color?)
Partners in Danger Chapter 9: The Haunting of Mary Jane - S4-E9
Question: How could Miranda getting scarred in an accident, as this appears to be the case, cause her to need become a cyborg as it appears to be in the episode?
Answer: I don't think the intent is for her to be a cyborg. Since she suffered a facial disfiguration and had no access to medical treatment or reconstructive surgery, the mask on her face probably serves to hide her scars. Plus, since she's the episode's villain, it helps to make her look more menacing.
Answer: Yes. Many things that would have been in the sixth season would have had Norman Osborne returning from limbo and reclaiming the title of the Green Goblin, Richard Fisk, the son of "The Kingpin" Wilson Fisk would return as a crime lord known as "The Rose", Ghost Rider would have appeared to help Spider-Man stop Dormammu from returning to Earth and Madame Web and Spider-Man would rescue Mary Jane from limbo.
