Continuity mistake: When Phil tries to get his bike down he falls over. A lot of stuff falls from the shelves behind him, when Claire asks if he is okay and Phil answers "Yes I am" you see that the shelves behind him are a mess. But the next shot you see that all the stuff is cleaned up again. In the next few shots the background changes all the time. (00:01:00)
Continuity mistake: When Jay is talking with his brother and finds out about his brother's cancer, he is holding a glass of scotch with a tiny bit of ice. When his brother approaches him the glass now just has ice with no scotch. We don't see the glass for a short period before he is about to sit in his chair and spills the contents of the glass, which now has the scotch and ice again.
Answer: Mitch is upset that his dad doesn't seem to support his getting married. When they talk about Jay's friends not coming to the wedding, Jay makes it seem like Mitch wouldn't want them to come anyways. Mitch sees it as it's actually that Jay doesn't want to invite his friends to his gay son's wedding because he's embarrassed and uncomfortable about having a gay son. Essentially Mitch sees it as if he was marrying a woman, Jay would be willing so spend money on the wedding, host it at the club, and invite all his friends to it.
