Continuity mistake: During the episode when Claire and Phil do their warm-up before racing each other, their children Alex and Luke arrive from school. They get down from the car, and the car takes off and goes away. But in the 2nd shot we can see that same car parked in front of them. (00:17:00)
Continuity mistake: In the scene before Jay hits Phil in the face with the plane, the remote control's antenna (the one he is using to fly the plane) switches between the 'forward' and 'up' positions. (00:10:50)
Continuity mistake: Claire takes some cookies out of the oven and puts them on a cooling rack. When Manny asks her what the matter is with Claire, she holds still while she's about to put down the second cookie in the top row. When the camera cuts to a different angle there are suddenly three cookies in the row already. (00:12:05)
Continuity mistake: It is stated that Phil and Claire didn't have a wedding, and just went to the courthouse to get married, but in episode 1x08, Great Expectations, Phil says he's pretty sure he sang "If you leave" by O.M.D. at their wedding.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Claire and Manny are discussing how they are brother and sister, Claire is placing cookies on a cooling rack from top to bottom. When the shot changes they are now placed left to right.

Continuity mistake: In the scene where Luke gets his new bike when Phil places the helmet on Luke's head the strap is not buckled up, but when the shot changes back and forth again it's buckled up and fastened. (00:05:05)
Continuity mistake: The scene in which the whole family were mud-fighting. Just after the camera man says "Excuse me, are we still doing this" look at Manny's shirt. It just has a small mud stain on the pocket, but as the scene continues the stain looks different with no reason and there is suddenly mud on Manny's face too.
Continuity mistake: When Claire comes in the kitchen a wine bottle with a blue/white label is standing up on the table. When Luke explains the effects of Jägermeister the same bottle is lying down on the table. In the next scene the bottle is standing upright again. (00:16:10)
Continuity mistake: When Haley, Claire, Phil and Jay are by the pool and Claire is talking to Phil. Claire's shirt (cover up) changes position several times. (00:02:00)
Continuity mistake: After the photographer asks Claire if they are still taking the picture Claire says no and puts mud on Gloria's belly. You see that its a round stain. In the shot after that the stain on Gloria's dress has become just a smear. This changes again in the shot after that. (00:20:05 - 00:20:40)
Continuity mistake: When Javier is setting up the pool table and Jay is about to break, we see in the next shot that the balls have slightly changed position, and in another shot before the end of the scene the balls have changed position again, without any play made between either of them. Answer: Mitch is upset that his dad doesn't seem to support his getting married. When they talk about Jay's friends not coming to the wedding, Jay makes it seem like Mitch wouldn't want them to come anyways. Mitch sees it as it's actually that Jay doesn't want to invite his friends to his gay son's wedding because he's embarrassed and uncomfortable about having a gay son. Essentially Mitch sees it as if he was marrying a woman, Jay would be willing so spend money on the wedding, host it at the club, and invite all his friends to it.
