Season 5 generally

Question: Zachariah reveals in season 5 that it was planned all along for Lucifer to be released so Michael could battle with Lucifer in an epic showdown that could risk half the world. My question is, wouldn't it make more sense to let Dean know he's Michael's vessel and have Michael either ready to slaughter Lucifer inside the cage or, worse case, be right there ready to attack the very second Lucifer gets released so no innocents are risked?

Answer: Over the next few episodes, it is revealed that something is not quite right with Sam - that his soul is missing since he returned from Hell, and he does not feel any emotion or attachment to his brother.

Question: In the one episode Gabriel attempted to kill Lucifer with his archangel blade. Even though he didn't succeed, why didn't they attempt to do use one before? Couldn't Cas have given them one, or gotten one if an archangel's blade is different then an angel blade (I'm not sure), or would it have even killed Lucifer, because he is an angel after all?

Yeahoksure

Answer: Angel blades come from angels. It's their angelic magic that makes it special. Therefore, an archangel blade is made magical with the powers of an archangel. They couldn't have just created one or used one, as none of them are archangels.

Question: Not long after first meeting angels, it is established that they do not have genitals, or "junk" as Dean puts it. But in S06E10 Castiel gets an erection while watching porn and in S08E22, Castiel is required to kill a nephilim, the offspring of an angel and a human. If angels do not have genitals how are these two things possible?

Answer: Angels themselves may not have genitalia, but their vessels do. Nephilim occur when an angel in a vessel reproduces.

Lazarus Rising - S4-E1

Question: In this episode after Dean comes back from hell, he and Bobby go see Sam at the hotel. There is a woman with him who says her name is Kristy. It is the girl who's body Ruby later uses. Is this actually Ruby, or the real Kristy?

Terry Foss

Chosen answer: In a later episode, it shows a flashback, revealing that "Krissy" was actually Ruby the whole time. She has possessed the girl beforehand. I think when ruby saw Dean, she started to improvise, which is why Sam was so surprised when the girl told him he got her name wrong. It's because it was really Ruby, and Sam was well aware of that.

Chosen answer: The charm is a male head with bullhorns. In an interview Jensen Ackles claimed that it was an Egyptian protective amulet; however, Egyptian deities are customarily portrayed as having animal heads on human bodies. The bull-man is a demon from Mesopotamian mythology, where he is a protective force against evil and appears as an attendant of the sun god (Samash). His body is human above the waist, and he also has the ears and horns of a bull.

Answer: There are 4 years between Sam and Dean so Dean was 4 or 4 1/2 when he took Sam out of the house. Sam was 6 months.

Answer: Dean is 33 and Sam is 29 around season 9.

Answer: Early 30's. The flashback shows them 22 years earlier when their dad says "Dean take your brother and go." Dean looks to be 5 and Sam is just a baby.

Season 7 generally

Question: I don't understand why Leviathans feed on humans. They were created before humans existed and were locked away before humans existed. Why do they feed on humans?

Answer: God created the Leviathans. These beasts were among God's earliest creations, predating angels and humans. Whereas Death "personally found them entertaining", God worried the beasts would, as Death said, "Chomp the entire petri dish" as they proved to be too strong, too hungry, and too destructive. Sometime after he bound the Darkness, God locked away the Leviathans in Purgatory - which Death reveals as being specifically created to contain Leviathans. In addition, after locking the Leviathans up, God devised a means of killing the Leviathans should they ever escape Purgatory. When He had the Word of God tablets created, God made one for the Leviathans in case they ever escaped, putting instructions for the weapon on the tablet as well as a warning about them. In other words, they feed on humans to make them stronger.

Answer: The chosen answer doesn't answer the question at all. It's called a amulet. It burns hot in God's presence which is why Dean and Sam use it later in the series to find God.

Chosen answer: Sam gave it to him as a Christmas present, though it was originally intended for his father. When John didn't show up for Christmas Sam gave it to Dean. This was shown in a flashback in "A Very Supernatural Christmas".
