X-Men

Trivia: The show contained numerous references to the Terminator film series. Several episodes such as "Time Fugitives" and "One Man's Worth" (also "Days of Future Past," but that was based on a pre-Terminator comic) featured one or more characters traveling into the past to prevent an event that causes a dystopian future. The robots from Cable's future bear a resemblance to the T-800s. When Mr. Sinister's body is blown to bits in "Reunion, Part 2" it begins to reassemble itself exactly like the T-1000 when it was frozen and then blown to bits. Wolverine even refers to Bishop as Mr. Terminator in the episode "Days of Future Past, Part 1." Another Schwarzenegger movie, "Total Recall", is referenced in "Time Fugitives, Part 2" when Cable uses a hologram of himself in order to bait someone into shooting at him.

Time Fugitives: Part 1 - S2-E7

Trivia: War Machine (the supporting character from Iron Man) makes two brief cameo appearances in this episode. The first is in Cable's future after Cable tells his team that they aren't retreating. Whether or not the person inside the armor is James Rhodes or why he is a servant of Apocalypse is not explained. The second is when he is watching the Senate committee on TV along with G.W. Bridge and Nick Fury. (00:02:50)

X-Ternally Yours - S2-E6

Trivia: The address for the mansion of the Thieves Guild is shown to be 2420 Melpomene. This is an actual address in New Orleans, although it's not a mansion in the swamp as depicted here. (00:11:45)

Trivia: George Buza is the only cast member who read the comics growing up.

The Phoenix Saga (1): Sacrifice - S3-E3

Trivia: The orange space suits that the X-Men wear more closely resemble those worn by Russian cosmonauts than the black and white space suits worn by American astronauts. This is likely the result of the animation company in the Philippines being given notes to draw the characters in space suits, but in their research probably came across the Russian design, and not knowing any better or investigating further, went with that style.

Captive Hearts - S1-E5

Trivia: The scene where Wolverine longingly strokes a picture of Jean Grey has not only become an internet meme, but an action figure depicting the scene was created by Mondo, and is set to begin selling to consumers starting with the 2021 San Diego Comic Con.

Repo Man - S2-E5

Trivia: Snowbird wasn't in the original script for this episode because they couldn't afford any more speaking parts. Larry Houston decided to add her to the episode and just not give her any lines, so that the full Alpha Flight team would appear.

Days of Future Past: Part 2 - S1-E12

Trivia: In this episode, Storm tells Gambit that she knows him better than anyone. This is a reference to the comics, in which Storm was the first member of the X-Men that Gambit met, and whom vouched for his initiation onto the team. (00:07:08)

Trivia: George Buza, who voiced Beast, never watched any episodes of this show until 2019, more than 20 years after the show ended. He finally decided to watch them at the insistence of Cal Dodd, who voiced Wolverine, because Buza was scheduled to be a guest at his first comic con, and decided he needed to have knowledge of the show, knowing that fans at conventions would be asking him questions about it.

Trivia: Much like in the comics, the Savage Land is a rainforest hidden within Antarctica. In April of 2020, it was reported that scientists discovered evidence of a rainforest that existed in Western Antarctica 90 million years ago.

Red Dawn - S2-E4

Trivia: The episode title Red Dawn is a nod to the 80s movie of the same name. It was a movie of a fight between Russians and a group of teens that called themselves the Wolverines. This episode was a Russian (Omega Red) and Wolverine fighting.

Trivia: Despite the character's current massive popularity, Deadpool only made three unofficial cameos on this show, as the character was not nearly as popular in the early 90s. Once as a mental projection during a psychic session between Professor X and Sabretooth in the season 1 episode "Deadly Reunions"; as an illusion created by the dark side of Professor X's consciousness in the season 3 episode "The Phoenix Saga Part 2: The Dark Shroud"; and as form that Morph took during a confrontation with Wolverine in the season 2 episode "Whatever It Takes." Deadpool was set to make his first official appearance in a television series in the second season of "Wolverine and the X-Men", but that show was canceled before this ever came to fruition.

Courage - S4-E3

Trivia: This episode marks the return of the Sentinels. Before Xavier expresses his wonder as to who brought the Sentinels back, Beast relates Morph's predicament to the story of Ahab. In the comics, a character named Ahab was the leader of the Sentinels in an alternate future.

Slave Island - S1-E7

Plot hole: After Storm's attempt to escape the Genoshan prison is thwarted, she ends up in the ocean right at the shoreline of the beach, where she is captured by a Sentinel. Aside from the fact that it makes no sense for a Sentinel to be hiding in the ocean in the event that a mutant tries to escape the prison, there is absolutely no way that a two-story tall robot could hide in the ocean right by the beach, as the water would be way too shallow. You can even see that the water level only goes up to the Sentinel's ankle area when it is standing upright in the ocean. (00:03:15)

Suggested correction: Perception. (1) The Sentinel isn't as close as it appears. If it were close, then she would have been caught in its waves as it emerges. Also, she would be looking only at its chest circle. It's several yards away. (2) She washes ashore. She fell from the sky. She couldn't have fallen from that great height into shallow water without hitting bottom. (3) It's also a two-story tall robot. Its weight would sink it into the sand. So it could have very well been down that deep.

DetectiveGadget85

Sentinel never sank into sand in other episodes.

Well, it's shown here.

Answer: It appears a number of factors led to its demise. It was originally intended to air for 65 episodes, but its popularity extended that. However, there were continual production quality problems, issues regarding whether the content was suitable enough for children, as well as financial considerations that finally led to it being ended.
