
Trivia: A clever, subtle hint as to Mason's guilt - Columbo arrives at the animal pound just in time to stop him feeding Laurel and Hardy (the dogs he trained to kill on command) a large amount of chocolate treats. He has planned this murder meticulously, and he would be aware that chocolate is extremely toxic to dogs. The amount he is planning to feed them from the bulging bag of large chocolate balls he is holding would kill both dogs within hours if ingested.

Trivia: Johnson's script originally featured an ending in which Jesse loses the game and yet finds himself still alive. Seeing this, Fats explains that he will die "as all second raters die: you'll be buried and forgotten without me touching you. If you'd beaten me, you'd have lived forever." This ending was eventually filmed when this episode was remade in 1989, during the first revival of The Twilight Zone.

Trivia: (POSSIBLE SPOILER) When Masuka brings up the list of doctors authorized to get the M99, Dexter removes his alias note that Dexter's fake alias (used to get the M99 tranquilizer) is Dr. Patrick Bateman. Patrick Bateman is the lead character of "American Psycho". This was most likely an intentional "easter egg" of sorts within the show.

Trivia: Throughout the show, the number 47 appears many times. There are multiple room 47's (where Syd found the Circumference in season 1 and the room in her memories from season 3, among others.), there are 47 Rambaldi artifacts, and Page 47 of the Rambaldi manuscript was the page that had Sydney's picture on it. Also the pagers flash 47911 when they get called into the office.

Trivia: At the end of the episode, Superman believes that Lex Luthor died after giving the Anti-Life Equation to Darkseid, who also vanished along with Lex while the others believe that Lex is still alive, and they might see him again. According to Dwayne McDuffie, Lex Luthor and Darkseid became a permanent part of the source wall when they solved the Anti-Life Equation. The same fate that happens to anybody who solves it.

Trivia: The bus which Skipper keeps catching to go to the headquarters has "Goosebumps" adverts on the side of the bus, saying "two thumbs up."

Trivia: Dr. Spencer Reid is the son of an attorney, born in Las Vegas. In real life, Matthew Gray Gubler, the actor who plays Reid, is also the son of an attorney, born in Las Vegas.

Trivia: Due to the rigorous stunts he performed, actor Robert Conrad would often rip out the seat of his already too tight pants.

Trivia: Edward James Olmos (Commander Adama) plays a man involved in a search for dangerous androids who are nearly impossible to distinguish from humans. He played a man in a very similar situation in Blade Runner as Gaff. Amusing coincidence.

Trivia: The show was filmed in an actual prison (now unused) in Joliet. The death row cell used for Lincoln Burrows is the actual death row cell that held serial killer John Wayne Gacy.

Trivia: In the opening credits there is a shot of a girl standing alone on the corner of a street. This was taken from the Buffy episode "Anne", when Buffy was staying in Los Angeles.
