X-Ternally Yours - S2-E6

Continuity mistake: When the chosen one for the Thieves Guild is called forward to present their tithe, the chosen one for the Assassins Guild can still be seen kneeling before the External. In the next shot when the chosen one for the Thieves is shown arriving on the scene, the chosen one for the Assassins is suddenly back to standing among the other members of his guild. In the next shot, the chosen one for the Assassins is back to kneeling before the External. (00:06:00)

X-Ternally Yours - S2-E6

Continuity mistake: When the chosen one for the Thieves Guild tries to present their tithe to the External, he is shown walking right up to the tree stump where he was to have placed the tithe. When the shot changes, he is still walking forward, and therefore should've bumped into the stump. He is saying a line of dialogue as he is walking forward, so it can't be considered an action shown from a different angle. (00:06:15)

Continuity mistake: When the chosen one for the Guild of Thieves drops his tithe box, it lands on the inside of his right foot. When the shot changes, the box is suddenly equidistant between his feet. A couple of shots later, the box has moved away from him, resting next to the tree stump. (00:06:17)

X-Ternally Yours - S2-E6

Continuity mistake: When Wolverine runs up to Gambit's mini-jet, he puts a considerable amount of distance between himself and Jean Grey, and nearly makes it all the way to the jet and Rogue before the shot changes. When the shot does change, he is suddenly several feet back from where he just was, and Jean Grey is now right behind him. (00:09:01)

X-Ternally Yours - S2-E6

Continuity mistake: In the first establishing shot of the Assassins Guild's mansion, there is a stairway leading up to the front door. In the establishing shot of the mansion in the scene where Gambit is in Bella Donna's bedroom, the stairway is missing, and consequently the mansion's porch area isn't as high off the ground. X-Ternally Yours - S2-E6

Continuity mistake: When Gambit is saying "You got me in the guild, Bobby," you can see on the wall across the hall that there is a switch that is the same red color as the wall. A few shots later, the switch is now gray. (00:10:18)

X-Ternally Yours - S2-E6

Continuity mistake: When Gambit is looking at himself in the mirror while wearing a tuxedo, you can see in his reflection that he is barehanded. In the next shot when he removes the tuxedo, he is wearing his usual black gloves. Also, the rose on the tuxedo goes from being on his right side (reflection's left) to being on his left side just before he removes the tuxedo. (00:13:15)

Slave Island - S1-E7

Plot hole: After Storm's attempt to escape the Genoshan prison is thwarted, she ends up in the ocean right at the shoreline of the beach, where she is captured by a Sentinel. Aside from the fact that it makes no sense for a Sentinel to be hiding in the ocean in the event that a mutant tries to escape the prison, there is absolutely no way that a two-story tall robot could hide in the ocean right by the beach, as the water would be way too shallow. You can even see that the water level only goes up to the Sentinel's ankle area when it is standing upright in the ocean. (00:03:15)

Suggested correction: Perception. (1) The Sentinel isn't as close as it appears. If it were close, then she would have been caught in its waves as it emerges. Also, she would be looking only at its chest circle. It's several yards away. (2) She washes ashore. She fell from the sky. She couldn't have fallen from that great height into shallow water without hitting bottom. (3) It's also a two-story tall robot. Its weight would sink it into the sand. So it could have very well been down that deep.

Sentinel never sank into sand in other episodes.

Well, it's shown here.

Show generally

Question: Does anyone know why Gambit was featured less and less in episodes as the show went on? He was one of the most popular characters in not just X-Men, but all of Marvel Comics around the time this series first aired, so unless it had something to do with his voice actor's contract, it seems odd they wouldn't have utilized him more.

Phaneron

Answer: Chris Potter, the original Gambit voice actor, did indeed quit the role in the 4th season. His last episode was The Phalanx Covenant Part 1 so it seems reasonable that Fox would limit the use of the character even though it was recast. It doesn't appear that Potter left the role due to animosity, he stated in an interview that he wished to play Gambit in the first live action X-Men film.
