Mr. Monk and the Employee of the Month - S3-E7
Plot hole: Monk wants to take a look at the case that got Christie to leave the force. But given that they are ordinary cops they would not be able to just go and pull internal affairs files.
Suggested correction: I'm not sure what you mean by "ordinary" cops. Captain Stottlemeyer is the one pulling the file. Plus, we don't see what they had to do to request access the files. There's no indication they just went in and randomly pulled the file with no authorization.
Mr. Monk Goes to the Dentist - S4-E15
Continuity mistake: When Monk has been chloroformed in his home and is gradually sliding down the doorframe, the dentist's assistant's hands go from being clasped under her chin in one shot to by her sides in another.
Mr. Monk Makes A Friend - S5-E11
Continuity mistake: When Natalie quizzes Monk on the finer points of ice hockey, a blue teapot sitting on the kitchen island beside her moves itself back and forth several inches between takes. (00:10:30)
Mr. Monk Is on the Run (1) - S6-E15
Plot hole: *Spoilers* Monk and Stottlemeyer cook up an ingenious plan to make Monk appear dead, but how the fugitive Monk acquires his regular clothes (in place of Mitch's uniform), the bullet-proof vest and the gun is not addressed. The police are watching Monk's apartment, Disher is watching Natalie and Julie, and Sheriff Rollins is watching Stottlemeyer, leaving us to wonder just how they managed all this right under their fellow cops' noses. (00:43:00)
Suggested correction: Stottlemeyer is a police captain. The sheriff can't watch his every move, and there are still plenty of cops who are loyal enough to Stottlemeyer for him to get one of them to deliver them to Monk or leave the items somewhere for him to retrieve.
Nice theory, but there's absolutely no hint of it in the episode. The lack of any explanation creates a bit of a plot hole because it leaves us wondering.
Mr. Monk and the Captain's Marriage - S4-E12
Continuity mistake: When Stottlemeyer goes to open the window in his house, the position of his body (especially his right arm) changes between shots. (00:07:50)
Continuity mistake: At the end, when he is talking to Natalie about quitting since he has solved an even number of crimes, Monk is peeling an orange. The peeling that he is letting dangle from the orange changes from above the counter to touching the counter and back to above the the counter, depending on the shot.
Mr. Monk and the Really, Really Dead Guy - S5-E15
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Monk mistakes the plasma TV for a blackboard, he writes the words "BODY MOVED" on the screen. Initially, he writes the "B" with an extra long vertical stroke; the next time we see the text, the vertical stroke is of a normal length. The text reads "BODY MOVED" when Monk stops writing, but when the FBI agent walks over to the screen to try to wipe it off, it has changed to "BODY M".
Mr. Monk Makes A Friend - S5-E11
Continuity mistake: At the end, Monk points a gun at Hal. But between takes, the weapon shifts instantly from his right hand to his left and back again.
Mr. Monk and the Panic Room - S3-E2
Continuity mistake: Whilst Randy and Sharona are in the kitchen feeding the monkey you can see near the start of the shot that Randy has his right arm leaning against the kitchen counter top. In the next shot his arms are suddenly folded.
Mr. Monk Meets the Playboy - S2-E8
Continuity mistake: Dexter places the sapphire necklace on Amber at a completely crooked angle. When the shot cuts, though, it has instantly straightened and centered itself.
Mr. Monk Makes A Friend - S5-E11
Continuity mistake: When the murderer strangles his victim, her music box is dropped on the floor several feet away. Though no one has touched it, the music box is somehow lying only a few inches from her body when the police arrive to investigate. (00:01:20 - 00:04:40)
Mr. Monk and the Leper - S5-E10
Revealing mistake: When Monk is hanging from the cliff, in the shots looking down at Monk you can see the ocean through him.
Mr. Monk and the Game Show - S3-E8
Continuity mistake: When Monk is telling Dwight how the guys are cheating, he holds the green sachet with one hand, but in the next shot, he is holding it with two. (00:32:30)
Mr. Monk and the Leper - S5-E10
Continuity mistake: Monk uses paper towels to grab the phone, dragging a length of white paper across the kitchen counter and leaving it there. But when he turns around to talk to Natalie, the counter behind him is bare. The paper towel trail has vanished. (00:05:40)
Mr. Monk and the Three Pies - S2-E11
Factual error: In this episode, when Sharona and Monk arrive to visit his brother, they talk about the swing set. Monk tells Sharona that his father put up the swing when he was 8 years old but this is a much newer swing set. Look at the curved plastic seats: these have come about in the last six to eight years. It also doesn't look at all rusty like a 40 year old swing would.
Suggested correction: Ambrose is obsessed with leaving the place "exactly the way dad left it for when he comes back." Hoarding old newspapers for him would be a character mistake, but things like keeping the old swingset maintained and up to current safety regulations so everything's perfect "when he returns" would be a thing he'd find to do around the house. His agoraphobia might not be so bad in the yard. Alternately, he could pay someone for yard upkeep, which would include the swingset.
Mr. Monk and the Astronaut - S4-E14
Factual error: During their examination of the crime scene, neither Monk, Stottlemyer, Sherona, Randy or anyone else in the room wear gloves or any kind of other protective clothing. They handle artefacts that could be critical to an investigation of the woman's death, including a cheque made out to her, and they hopelessly contaminate them by doing so.
Mr. Monk is the Best Man - S8-E13
Character mistake: At the end, after Stephanie fired the gun, Captain Stottlemeyer shows her the gun's magazine but calls it a "clip." A police captain like Leland would know the difference between a clip and a magazine and would use the right word.
Mr. Monk and the Rapper - S6-E2
Factual error: Extra Large was killed Sunday morning of Daylight Saving's Day. But the paper they show Monk is dated Friday, May 4, 2007. But Daylight Saving was March 11, 2007.
Mr. Monk and the Candidate (1) - S1-E1
Factual error: When the rifle is identified as a "Weatherby Fibermark", Monk and Randy say it's a British rifle. But Weatherby is an American company.
Mr. Monk and the Sleeping Suspect - S2-E7
Continuity mistake: Monk throws the bomb into the toilet and shuts the door, pulling it towards him. When we see him hit by the blast there's no door in the way, and in the reverse shot looking into the bathroom the door has swung open into the room again, despite the blast radiating outwards. Plus it should have destroyed the door anyway.
