Star Trek

The Corbomite Maneuver - S1-E11

Continuity mistake: The cube holding the ship in place is spinning counter clockwise, from left to right, on its axis. When the camera is looking at the bridge, the colors are going from left to right, rather than right to left to match the cube's movement.

The Return of the Archons - S1-E22

Continuity mistake: While Kirk is attempting to convince Marplon and Reger to take them to Landru, a distant shot shows Marplon's right hand descend from his chest to his side. Immediately thereafter, a close-up shows Marplon's hand again suddenly at his chest.

Court Martial - S1-E21

Continuity mistake: During Kirk and Lt. Shaw's conversation where Kirk learns that Shaw will be the prosecuting attorney, they are sitting at a table. A shot from behind Shaw's left shoulder shows her turning her head toward Kirk. The scene then shifts to a close-up front shot of Shaw, where she again turns her head.

Charlie X - S1-E3

Continuity mistake: After Sam tosses Kirk, he goes to a bench in the corner, picks up the towel that was there, and sits down. After Kirk tosses Charlie, Sam is laughing, and Charlie makes Sam "go away." After Sam fades out, the towel that he had around his neck is lying there, when it disappeared with Sam. (00:27:36)

Balance of Terror - S1-E15

Continuity mistake: Midway through the episode, a stock shot of the view screen shows Sulu at the helm. When we return to the bridge master shot, however, Sulu isn't there. Styles is the only one at the console, and he's sitting at navigation. The helmsman's chair is empty. (00:32:05)

A Taste of Armageddon - S1-E24

Continuity mistake: The landing party had been apprehended and placed in a locked room under the supervision of a single guard. Spock manages to free them and Kirk knocks out this guard, leaving him in the locked room. Later on in the episode, they return to this very room and somehow this guard is gone. He could not have woken up and walked out because it is a locked room and Kirk took his key. (00:23:45)

The Naked Time - S1-E5

Continuity mistake: In the opening, the crewman gets a few drops of the infectant on his hand, but the reddish mass on the wall remains. On the ship, when the spectral view is shown, the red mass is nowhere to be seen.

Movie Nut

Errand of Mercy - S1-E27

Continuity mistake: Kirk has a sunburn on his face and chest (it appears to end partway down his chest-most noticeable in the scene shortly after his identity is revealed to the Klingons). First of all, how does one get a sunburn while flying through space (and one that does not match the pattern of the uniform). If one wants to explain it away as being from a recent Shore Leave or Enterprise tanning bed, the issue still remains that the intensity of the sunburn changes as the episode continues.

Charlie X - S1-E3

Continuity mistake: In the Rec Lounge Spock is playing his Vulcan lyre. When Uhura starts humming, he looks up and drops his hands. When the camera goes in for a close up on Spock, his hands are in the playing position again, and he drops his left hand. (00:09:52)

Movie Nut

Balance of Terror - S1-E15

Continuity mistake: When Spock races back into the phaser control room, he places his electronic tablet on the console and kneels to check on the unconscious Styles and Tomlinson. From one shot to the next, the tablet changes its position on the console behind him. (00:40:00)

Is There in Truth No Beauty? - S3-E5

Other mistake: In the final scene, Kirk is still in the transporter room, but does not have on a visor when the ambassador transports out. Even if he did, humans can still go mad if wearing one and that's why Spock operates the transporter. Spock has his visor on, but then you see Kirk walk out of the transporter room without a visor and he is not going mad.

Trivia: Gene Roddenberry created the transporter as an easier (and cheaper) way of getting Enterprise crew members onto a planet's surface, rather than landing the ship on the planet.

I, Mudd - S2-E8

Question: When Kirk and crew neutralized all the androids on the planet, what happened to the androids on the Enterprise running the ship?

Answer: After causing Norman to overload, all of the other androids shut down. The same could be said for the androids on the Enterprise.

Answer: If all the humans beamed down and only Androids were on the ship as Larry Mudd said then how did they get back aboard the Enterprise if all the robots were shut down.
