Question: What's the episode in which there is a scene where the Griffins are badly drawn characters on the Tracey Ullman show and Stewie has a thick Cockney accent?
Chosen answer: It's from season 5, episode named "Peterotica".
Question: In Australia, where I live, the episodes Blue Harvest Part 1 and Part 2 are being released as a movie. Does anyone know if these episodes are going to be released on the Region 4 Season 7 DVD, (our seasons are numbered differently than the American ones)? I don't want to buy Blue Harvest as a movie if it's going to be released as two episodes on the DVD.
Chosen answer: I would say its almost certain that Blue Harvest will not be on the upcoming Region 4 release. Volume 6 in the US is being released without the Blue Harvest episodes and I would doubt it would be any different here in Australia. The Stewie Griffin movie that was released a while ago was released as a stand alone DVD and not included on the season DVD despite it also being screened on television.
Question: In what episode is the scene where Peter is at the ballpark yelling out "Butt Scratcher! Butt Scratcher!"?
Chosen answer: No Chris Left Behind.
Question: I seem to remember a parody where Stewie dresses like Maria from The Sound of Music when she sings "I have Confidence." If it is not just my imagination, can anyone tell me what episode and season this was?
Question: What episode is it where Stewie is on the playground, and has a massive air strike with Bertram and his army and Stewie says Behold the Armada.
Answer: It's called "Sibling Rivalry".
Question: When the show makes jokes about scenes from other shows or movies (such as when they show TIE Fighters from Star Wars, which sound just like the ones in the movies), do they have to get some kind of permission to do the scenes or use the sounds?
Answer: Not generally, no. As long as the use isn't too extended, copyrighted material can be used for the purposes of parody. This wouldn't necessarily exclude the makers asking out of courtesy, but there's no legal requirement to do so.
Answer: Star Wars loved their jokes so much early on in the series they gave Family Guy staff exclusive rights to all the sounds so they could make the best parody possible.
Question: I know this is a stupid question, but who is the "Family Guy"? I was told it was Peter, but I'm not so sure?
Answer: It's Peter; he's the main protagonist in the series so naturally the title and theme song are referring to him.
Question: In the episode where Peter and his friends get stuck on an island, just before that happens they're on the boat and death comes and asks for a beer. Why does he come if no one dies?
Answer: Death apparently expected one of them to die in the storm but he was obviously mistaken. As seen in pretty much all his appearances in Family Guy, Death really isn't quite on the ball with who is actually dead (or going to die) and who isn't.
Question: How come they only made three series? Was the show axed?
Answer: The show was originally cancelled because of poor ratings, but many people believe this is because although people *wanted* to watch the show, Fox kept changing its time slot so no one knew when it was on. However, new series are being made (and aired) right now due to the high sales figures of the DVDs.
Question: I know that Seth MacFarlane does many voices, such as those of Brian, Peter, Stewie and other generic sorts of voices for background characters. I just wondered if anyone knew which of these voices was his own, or the closest to his own. He seems to use the "Brian" voice the most.
Question: Why isn't Norm MacDonald credited with voicing the role of Death in the first episode the character appears? Also, why was he later replaced by Adam Carrolla?
Answer: He did an uncredited cameo, often this happens if the actor's don't like their billing. Afterwards, he was too tied up with other projects to return.
Question: I've noticed that every time Louis mentions Quagmire's name, she calls him Glen. I don't remember it mentioned anywhere in any of the episodes that his first name is Glen. Does anybody know for sure if this is his first name, and if not, why does Louis call him by that name?
Answer: I have come across this many times with family and friends. It is quite informal calling someone by a nickname or surname and is usually only done by close friends. Maybe Lios would find it impolite to call Glen "Quagmire" as she does not know him as well as Peter does.
Answer: In the episode "Meet The Quagmires" it became apparent that Glen and Lois and Peter all knew each other in high school, even though this contradicted the original meeting of Peter and Quagmire on a navy boat in the flashback of the episode "Death Lives."
Question: Which episode is it where they referenced Beetlejuice's wife being angry because Lydia calls him?
Answer: I believe you're thinking about "Robot Chicken."
Question: Why does Quagmire hate Brian all over again after telling him "he's a good man" and giving him a bachelor party?
Answer: Because he's thinking that Brian is not as trash as he first thought. In an earlier episode you can see Quagmire saying everything he hates about Brian, him being scum, trash pretending to be deep, etc. So when he sees Brian not using a girl and being a jerk, but seeming exactly in love and about to marry her he changed his opinion of him.
Chosen answer: "Sibling Rivalry", Season 4, Episode 22.
