Marge Gets a Job - S4-E7

Audio problem: Ms. Krabappel is telling Bart about the laundry list of sicknesses he had to get out of the test. You can see her mouth doesn't match up when she mentions "...and that unfortunate case of rabies." The studio actually changed what Ms. Krabappel originally said which was "and that unfortunate case of "Tourette's Syndrome." [Some reports say that the original line of Tourette's Syndrome was left in syndications in certain areas. On the DVD version the rabies line has been used]. (00:16:00)

Lummie

New Kid on the Block - S4-E8

Audio problem: When Laura tells Bart she has a boyfriend, Bart imagines her ripping out his heart. If you listen and look carefully, you will see the sound of Laura's hand ripping out Bart's heart comes before Laura even touches him.

Casual Person

Lisa's First Word - S4-E10

Audio problem: Just after Homer says "About 3 Weeks" in reply to Bart's question about how long Grandpa lived with them, the family all start laughing. However, the second time Homer laughs, his mouth doesn't move.

Suggested correction: Go Away, is said in a long shot and you can't see her mouth clear enough to determine if it moves.

Marge vs. the Monorail - S4-E12

Audio problem: When Mr Lanley is playing the piano, he plays some chords with both hands. During the line "Put up your hands and raise your voice", he plays the same chords, but at a different note, with only one hand.

The Front - S4-E19

Audio problem: When it is announced that Homer has won the award at the High-School Reunion, he gets up from his table and yells "Oh my God." His mouth however is drawn in the style of him saying "Woo-hoo." (00:09:55)

Hamster

Marge in Chains - S4-E21

Audio problem: At the end of the episode the statue of Jimmy Carter with Marge's hairdo is unveiled, and the assembled throng applaud her reaction. They are all chattering away, but no sound is coming out of their mouths - we only hear the sound of clapping.

Show generally

Continuity mistake: This is a mistake for the introduction from seasons 2-20 (1991-2009). When Homer screams, he turns round. You see this in a wide shot. There are no boxes to the right of the door in the garage. However, two just appear out of thin air when he runs through the garage. (00:01:50)

The Cartridge Family - S9-E5

TV Announcer: The Continental Soccer Association is coming to Springfield. It's all here: fast kicking, low scoring. And ties? You bet.
Bart: Hey Dad, how come you've never taken us to see a soccer game?
Homer: I don't know.
TV Announcer: You'll see all your favorite soccer stars. Like Arriaga, Arriaga II, Barriaga, Aruglia, and Pizzozza.
Homer: Oh, I've never heard of those people.
TV Announcer: And they'll all be signing autographs.
Homer: Woohoo!
TV Announcer: This match will determine once and for all which nation is the greatest on Earth. Mexico or Portugal.

Tree House of Horror V - S6-E6

Question: Homer travels back in time and causes changes by what he does in the past, like stepping on a bug. I once saw a movie with the same basic plot: some people travel back in time and are told to be careful not to disturb anything, but when they return to their time everything has changed. In the end they discover it was because they stepped on a butterfly. Does anyone know the name of this movie?

Answer: I'm not sure if this is the one you're thinking of, but an episode of "Ray Bradbury Theatre," called "A Sound of Thunder," dealt with a similar matter: a group of hunters travel back in time to hunt dinosaurs, only to find things have changed when they get back because someone stepped on a butterfly.
