Continuity mistake: After Phil eats the "horse" egg at Moe's he asks to be taken to the hospital, and when it cuts back to Homer at the power plant, the direction of the stripes on Homer's tie switch to the opposite direction, mid shot. The same thing occurs again later. First, when Homer is standing outside the office while Fred talks to Burns about the benefits package, and also when Homer can't stay for Marge's turkey breakfast. Continuity mistake: While Homer, Carl, and Lenny are at Moe's with their new bud Fred, in the interior shots the swinging front door to Moe's swings open on the left side, but in the exterior shot when they all leave Moe's, that door still swings open on the left side, opposite to the interior shots. Continuity mistake: Mr. Burns shows a box of doughnuts coloured pink, brown and light brown. When the guys grab them they're all pink.
Continuity mistake: While Marge and Homer are standing by their front door when everyone leaves the house Marge is wearing earrings, but when it cuts to the closeup both of Marge's earrings have vanished. (00:08:10)
Continuity mistake: After Marge has bitten the candle down to size, when she wipes Bart's face her left earring vanishes. (00:03:35)
Continuity mistake: After John shows up in his car to take the Simpson family for a drive, Marge has her purse strap hanging off her left shoulder when she asks Homer to at least say hello to John. In the next shot, as she tells Homer that he liked John that morning, note Marge's purse strap is missing from her shoulder, but the purse is still there just hanging in midair under her arm. The strap reappears in its proper place in the next shot. (00:07:50)

Continuity mistake: During the last taping of Homer's Poochie character, June Bellamy is standing beside Homer, and she's wearing a watch on her left wrist, but her watch vanishes in some shots. (00:19:40)
Continuity mistake: After Brodka lets Bart go with a warning the boy rides his bicycle home, and in the closeup the handlebar's single brake lever is at Bart's right hand, but in the next wide shot the brake lever is at his left hand. In the closeup there's also a bar at the center of the handlebar, but it's gone in the wide shot. (00:09:05)
Continuity mistake: When Brodka brings Bart to the security office and plays the shoplifters video tape, Troy McClure's trench coat buttons are on his right side (viewer's left), but when Brodka turns off the video the buttons are on Troy's left side, between shots. (00:07:30)
Continuity mistake: At bedtime, while we hear Marge singing to Lisa in her bedroom Bart is lying in his bed, and on Bart's nightstand beside the door there's a framed photo of Krusty and an alarm clock, but in the next closeup the photo has vanished and instead there's a Krusty telephone. Continuity mistake: While Homer and Barney are smoking in the boys bathroom, when Principal Dondelinger walks in on them the "boys" sign on the exterior side of the door disappears in the closeup, but the sign reappears as Dondelinger exits. The door push plates on both sides of the swing door also vanish/reappear during the scene. (00:04:35)

Continuity mistake: After Pepi and Tom walk off into the sunset together it cuts to Bart handing Homer another beer, and the picture behind the couch has brown sails over the boat, but next shot it's colored properly with white sails. (00:21:30)
Continuity mistake: After Lisa paces around the school hallway practising how to ask Mr. Bergstrom over for dinner, when she opens the classroom door there's a backplate behind the doorknob and a lower panel under the window, but when she sees Miss Hoover and gasps, the backplate and lower panel have both disappeared. Continuity mistake: When Miss Hoover returns to class she writes "psychosomatic" on the blackboard, but when Lisa runs out of class the word has vanished from the board. (00:13:55)
Continuity mistake: When Homer shows up to the Bouvier home the night of the prom, Selma and Patty open the door and it opens outward, but in the following shots the door has been opened inward. (00:16:10)
Continuity mistake: After Homer's emotional outburst about the lack of bananas, when it cuts to the exterior shot of the Lovejoy house the doorknob is on the right side of The Front door, but when Reverend Lovejoy kicks Bart out of his house, the doorknob is on the opposite side. Later, when Jessica twirls the baton, the doorknob is on the right side again. (00:08:00)
Continuity mistake: When Marge runs after Bart because he's hiding something under his jacket, Homer pulls out a gate to block Bart's entrance to the TV room. Three different gate styles are shown. (00:20:35)
Continuity mistake: In some shots Otto's beaded bracelet vanishes and reappears, such as when he's on the school bus before the accident. Also, note a watch suddenly appears on his left wrist then it disappears, on the school bus. (00:11:05 - 00:15:15)
Continuity mistake: While Otto plays the guitar at 3:00 AM, the tuning keys on the guitar head are first facing down, then the guitar head flips and the tuning keys are facing up, between shots. (00:15:45)
Continuity mistake: When Homer is wearing underwear while banging on the bathroom door the doorknob is missing, but next shot it appears on the door, and the closet door hinge also vanishes. (00:18:25)
