Motor Skills - S8-E11

Continuity mistake: Frasier has a college catalogue that he takes over to the phone to call for information. Between the time he puts the catalogue next to the phone to the time he makes his call, the page changes, even though he doesn't touch it.

The New Friend - S8-E7

Continuity mistake: Frasier is talking to Luke in the restaurant early in the show. Luke's hand switches its position several times from shot to shot - from one hand on the table to both hands on the table and then back again.

The Bad Son - S8-E3

Audio problem: Frasier is standing in his living room talking to Niles. We hear a knocking or tapping. As Frasier is expecting his date, Miranda, this might make sense, but they do not seem to hear it and make no move towards the door. A short time later the doorbell rings and Frasier's date arrives.

The Bad Son - S8-E3

Continuity mistake: When Niles and Daphne are having their picnic on the roof, the picnic basket moves around, from sitting on the concrete to sitting on the edge of the cloth.

Legal Tender Love and Care - S8-E6

Continuity mistake: Abbie puts Niles' burning menu in the ice bucket where it remains for the rest of the scene, next to the bottle of champagne. Sometimes the menu is right up against the bottle and sometimes it is an inch or two apart - with no one touching either item.

Legal Tender Love and Care - S8-E6

Continuity mistake: Abby orders Frasier out of her office and she bends down to pick up his jacket from the floor, even though it had been on the chair throughout the scene. She then throws it and his overcoat out the door after him - we see the jacket land on the floor and the overcoat on his head. She slams the door and the shot goes to Frasier - the jacket is now draping his head, rather than the overcoat.

Legal Tender Love and Care - S8-E6

Continuity mistake: Abbie and the gang are in the restaurant for dinner. Frasier has his elbow on the table over his menu and Abbie says, "In front of your father," and the camera angle now shows Frasier holding the menu. After Abbie responds to Marty's lawyer joke, Frasier's hand is back down on top of the menu.

Legal Tender Love and Care - S8-E6

Continuity mistake: When Abbie arrives at Frasier's apartment, she puts her purse on the coffee table; the strap is hanging between the couch and the table. When Frasier offers to walk her to the elevator, she goes to get her purse and it has flipped over with the strap fully visible - even though no one went near it.

Legal Tender Love and Care - S8-E6

Other mistake: Frasier comes into Abbie's office holding his overcoat - a couple of shots later it is draped over a chair even though Frasier didn't have time to put it there and get back to where he stood throughout the scene.

Semi-Decent Proposal - S8-E21

Continuity mistake: Roz and Frasier are at Cafe Nervosa and she is telling him about her dream of dancing with Bruce Springsteen. At one point, her hand is on top of her coffee mug and then she lays it on the table; the next shot shows her hand on the cup again, with no time to move it naturally.

The Bad Son - S8-E3

Continuity mistake: Frasier and Roz are on the bus, holding on to a pole; Roz has her purse on her right shoulder. As they talk about Miranda, her purse switches to her left shoulder and then back to her right, without her ever adjusting it.

The New Friend - S8-E7

Continuity mistake: Roz goes to Frasier's to tell him Luke has been seeing someone else - while they are drinking in the kitchen, the level of her drink changes without her drinking or having a refill.

Docu.Drama - S8-E16

Continuity mistake: When Martin is eating at the coffee table, you see the front of the tomato sauce/ketchup bottle, then the back, then the front again. Also the spice that was on the table moves without anyone touching it.

The Bad Son - S8-E3

Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the scene when Martin is talking to Duke on the phone, there is nothing on the table next to his chair. As the scene progresses, a remote appears on the table, even though Marty or anyone else places it there.

Taking Liberties - S8-E5

Continuity mistake: When Frasier is hosting his pre-opera party and is greeting his first guests at the door, the female guest has a purse on her arm. In the shot after Frasier excuses himself from them, her arms and purse have changed positions.

The New Friend - S8-E7

Continuity mistake: When Luke and Frasier are talking in the restaurant, and Frasier asks, "So Luke, you're a boat enthusiast?", his forearm is resting on the table. When the shot cuts back to him, only his hand is resting on the table, with no time for him to change position.

Selling Out - S1-E9

Frasier: Roger, at Cornell University they have an incredible piece of scientific equipment known as the Tunneling Electron Microscope. Now, this microscope is so powerful that by firing electrons you can actually see images of the atom, the infinitesimally minute building blocks of our universe. Roger, if I were using that microscope right now, I still wouldn't be able to locate my interest in your problem.

Trivia: When Nanette tells Frasier she's tired of playing her children's show character, she asks him if he knows what it's like to play the same character for twenty years. By this point, Kelsey Grammer had been playing Frasier for twenty years: eleven on 'Frasier' and nine on 'Cheers'.

Show generally

Question: Counting his role on Cheers, Kesley Grammar has played Fraiser for twenty years. Is this the record for the longest portrayal of a character by a TV actor?

Answer: It equals the record of James Arness of "Gunsmoke" for the actor who's played the same part on TV NOT in a soap opera. If you include soaps there are two main contenders - William Roache, who's been playing Ken Barlow in "Coronation Street" in the UK since 1960. Don Hastings has been playing Robert Hughes in US soap "As the World Turns" since 1960 as well.
