The X-Files

Pusher - S3-E17

Corrected entry: When Modell "talks" Burst to death, the cops in the room stop Mulder and Scully from disconnecting the call. You would think that two FBI Agents would hold rank over local PD Officers on any case.

Correction: They are his men, it only makes sense that they would listen to him instead of 2 Feds.

Correction: Every shot is either too dark or ends a bit below his chest, making this impossible to say.

Blood - S2-E3

Corrected entry: In the investigation scene following the mechanic's murder, Mulder is wearing rubber gloves but when he scans his finger down the clipboard, his hand is bare.

Correction: He has gloves on throughout the entire scene. They are tight and look like he has none, but if you look closely you can see the latex.

Dod Kalm - S2-E19

Corrected entry: Scully says that Mulder's dehydration contributed to his aging, so why would drinking alcohol, something that can seriously dehydrate you, extend the life of the captain?

Correction: Scully merely said that the captain drank alcohol instead of the contaminated water.

Within (1) - S8-E1

Corrected entry: Scully says that Mulder had been travelling to Raleigh, North Carolina because that is where his family plot is, but in the season 3 premiere 'The Blessing Way', Scully attends Mulder's fathers funeral in Boston.

Correction: He was going to see his mother, not his father. Plus the body could have been moved by Mulders request.

Correction: Cyrillic bears similarities to Greek, Slavic, Russian, and some Middle-Eastern lettering. Considering the tattoo was on the decomposing skin of a body that had been submerged in water, it's reasonable to assume it would be difficult for anyone to recognise. Also, nothing is ever mentioned about Scully's education to suggest she should have any particular knowledge about multi-cultural writing styles, the most we know is that she had a decent grasp of German.

Purple_Girl

I agree with the original post. It is inconceivable that someone with Scully's education wouldn't recognise Cyrillic (which is the script in which Russian is written, incidentally, and looks nothing like any Middle-Eastern alphabet, although it is certainly similar to Greek). Any good general education would give you that knowledge.

The Walk - S3-E7

Corrected entry: When Lt. Col. Stans tries to kill himself by submerging himself in boiling water using the hydrotherapy tub, he sets the gauge to 200 (where it stays). The water boils as planned, but water doesn't boil that low. This takes place in Maryland; assuming an elevation of 3,360 feet, water shouldn't boil until 206°. (00:01:25)

Correction: That's not the water boiling, it's the massaging jets of the hydrotherapy tub (like a Jacuzzi or hot tub).

Small Potatoes - S4-E20

Corrected entry: Eddie's ability to shape-shift is attributed to every muscle in his body being striated. While that's a reasonable explanation as to how he can change his face, it doesn't explain how he is able to change his hair. He has short hair and is balding, but when he mimics Mulder, he is able to match Mulder's longer and thicker full head of hair.

Phaneron

Correction: When "Mulder" Eddie drops by to Scully's apartment, she says, "We discovered an additional anomaly relating to the hair follicles in his scalp." That would account for the change in hairstyle.

Chop Luftmysza

Correction: CSM's writing means a great deal to him, and while he must certainly be aware that he has the power to have his stories published, it's highly likely that like many creatives, he simply wants them to be wanted on their own merit.

Die Hand die Verletzt - S2-E14

Corrected entry: Scully does a internet search for Miss Paddock's prior teaching experience and this search claims "Substitute; Grossmont Union High School Dist. 1998 - 1994." I suppose it should have been 1988 - 1994, or 1994 - 1998.

Correction: The text reads 1990-1994, not 1998. The font used places a diagonal line in the 0, to distinguish it from an O. You can see the same style 0 in the next line where it says 1980.

Drive - S6-E2

Corrected entry: Watch the odometer in Mulder's car. When we first get a shot of it the counter is at about 2092, the when he runs out of gas it is at 2043. (00:16:00 - 00:28:55)

Correction: The digit under the indicator is not 0 and the number is not 2043. It is probably 2, 7 or 9. It is especially clear when compared to the shape of other 0s on the odometer.

Hollywood A.D. - S7-E19

Corrected entry: After Mulder storms from the cinema at The End, Scully finds him sitting in the messy, deserted graveyard movie set. However, since the movie was premiering, which happens months after filming is completed, it makes no sense that the set would appear as if it was finished with that same day or that week.

Purple_Girl

Correction: If the studio wanted to reuse the set for another movie, which happens all the time in real life, then they would keep the set up to save on production costs rather than deconstructing it and having to rebuild it.

Tooms - S1-E21

Corrected entry: When we see Tooms working after getting his old job back, he sets his sights on a young blonde woman and begins to walk towards her, just before being interrupted by Mulder. What would he have done? Mulder says himself that Tooms didn't get away with his crimes for 100 years by not being careful, so exactly how would accosting a women in broad daylight with plenty of witnesses made sense?

enter_a_uh

Correction: His schedule was thrown off by Mulder's and Scully's intervention; he was simply getting desperate.

Correction: I fail to see how this is a mistake, she did not say she had to wrap all the packages in her car just that she had wrapping to do, which she does with the other packages. Many stores offer complimentary gift wrapping and it is very common to see people out shopping with some packages wrapped and others in need of wrapping.

Musings of a Cigarette-Smoking Man - S4-E7

Corrected entry: This episode contradicts the season 2 episode "Apocrypha" where young CSM was seen in the 1950's with Bill Mulder as already a shadowy agent and smoking. This episode has CSM still a young man and not part of the Syndicate in 1963, and does not smoke yet. Also this episode fails to mention anything about the conspiracy with an alien species which is one of the key features about the CSM.

Correction: Melvin is simply guessing at some of the details, he probably got some of those incorrect details from the story that Carl Gerhard Busch wrote, which is because the main character is based on himself, and how would you keep your involvement in an alien conspiracy hidden from the public if anyone could find out who you are?

Correction: This whole episode is based solely on Frohike's guesses about CSM, so obviously, he was wrong on some details.

One Breath - S2-E8

Corrected entry: In the episode entitled "One Breath," CSM lights a cigarette in Skinner's office, despite a No Smoking sign, and then he puts it out in an ashtray that sits on a coffee table across from Skinner's desk. If Skinner doesn't allow smoking in his office, why does he have an ashtray in his office?

Correction: So people who enter with cigarettes have a place to put them out.

Correction: Agent Mulder's brief mention of his condition reveals nothing of its severity. Colourblind people can become FBI agents if they can pass the Farnsworth D15 test.

Bad Blood - S5-E12

Visible crew/equipment: I don't know if this is visible in all formats, but on the newest UK release on DVD, watching in widescreen, it's amazingly obvious. When Mulder recovers from the vampire attack, he gets up from the floor and breaks up a chair to make a stake. There is a shot of his feet as he smashes the legs off and bends to pick up a piece. In the bottom left hand corner of the screen, you can see a crew member's hand carefully and quickly placing a piece of wood on top of the pile for Mulder to pick up.

Trust No 1 - S9-E6

Question: After blowing up the car, when the NSA guy answers Scully's question, "How the hell do you know my size?" he says, "I know the name of your college boyfriend, your true hair colour, your ATM PIN number." This strongly suggests that red is not her true colour. Therefore, my question is: What is the true colour of Scully's hair?

Chop Luftmysza

Answer: He was being facetious. He doesn't specifically know that information, he was merely giving examples of the types of information he has access to.

I think so too.

lionhead

Answer: Actress Gillian Anderson's natural hair color is strawberry blonde, which she dyed fiery red. (Although in the revival of the show she wears a wig).

The question does not concern Gillian Anderson's true hair colour-it concerns Agent Dana Scully's true hair colour.
