The next episode, The One When Ross Is Fine, shows the same scene but it has been changed: Rachel never says "I'm so sorry". Joey starts talking when Ross enters the room.
The One In Massapequa - S8-E18
Continuity mistake: In The One In Massapequa, Jack Gellar is eating food off a stick. When he finishes he holds the stick while Rachel asks Jack if he has any pearls of wisdom. We can see the stick over Judy's shoulder. In the next shot the stick is gone from his hand, then we see Judy put it down on a table, then it reappears in his hand, before disappearing for good. Continuity mistake: In the scene where Chandler turns on music when he and Phoebe are going to "have all the sex" you see Phoebe's arm begin to move in the right corner of the screen. When it cuts to her she has not yet begun dancing, and when he goes to turn the music on again it is a duplicate clip from the initial shot.

Continuity mistake: In the scene where Phoebe asks Mike to prove that he plays piano, his arm goes from resting on the couch to on his lap from one shot to the next. After Phoebe tells him "You are really good," his left arm is resting on the couch. But in the next shot when Phoebe continues talking, his arm is resting on his lap.

Continuity mistake: In the episode before, Rachel's hair is just underneath her shoulders. Then, a few weeks later when Ross gets back from Spring Break, it's a lot longer than before.

Continuity mistake: When Phoebe realises she just met her dad she turns to her friends to share the news, and in the closeup she's holding a pair of 3D glasses in her right hand and Monica's holding a pair in her left hand, but in the next wideshot both of those glasses have vanished. (00:09:15)
The One With Joey's Bag - S5-E13
Continuity mistake: When Chandler speeds up the timer for his turn he places the timer down at the right side of the pillow, but it's at the opposite side of the pillow when he lies down. Then before Monica starts giving Chandler his massage, she sets the timer and places it near the foot of the bed which we see in Chandler's closeup, but in the next shot when she says, "Say goodbye to sore muscles," oblivious to Chandler's pain, the timer is lying by the pillows behind her, near the head of the bed. Note, in the "uncut scene" version, Chandler grabs the timer to speed up his torture, and Monica takes it out of his hand thinking he was going to add more time, then she places the timer behind her. Continuity mistake: When Joey is picking up his bagel off the ground in Chandler's apartment he says something about the bagel hole being to small and he has it in his left hand. In the next shot it shows Chandler making a face and Joey's hand is empty. In the next shot Joey is sitting down and the bagel is back in his hand.
Answer: Usually by the seventh night of Hanukkah you don't know what to get the other person, and you will probably resort to getting the other person something insignificant. Chandler is basically saying that the pen is a stupid gift.
