Backlash of the Hunter - S1-E1
Revealing mistake: Jim Rockford rushes towards the shooting when Jerry just shot the priest; he takes a sharp turn following skidmarks from previous takes. (01:18:00)
Backlash of the Hunter - S1-E1
Revealing mistake: When Jerry guns down the reverend, the person falling forward wears a remarkable grey wig - you can spot black hair on his neck area, even. (00:34:55)
Backlash of the Hunter - S1-E1
Continuity mistake: The minister escapes from the car and across the street; Jerry points his gun at him. The driver of the still car has his hand at 12 o'clock on the wheel in one shot, but did not in the previous. (00:34:35)
Backlash of the Hunter - S1-E1
Continuity mistake: After engaging in off-screen various recreational activities right under his photo, Sara is telling the story of her father per Jim's request "One time, I couldn't find him for three weeks", she says; Jim's hand was on her lower back, it starts behind her head here. (01:15:00)
Backlash of the Hunter - S1-E1
Other mistake: The bad guy collapses after drinking what Sara gave him, but in the close-up she managed to squeeze barely 1 drop of the substance and it went right on top of the horizontal ice cube. It must be the most powerful narcotic in the world, putting KO a mountain of a man within seconds with a single drop that arguably didn't even mix with the drink. Had she put a couple drops in, it would have straight up murdered him, then.
Backlash of the Hunter - S1-E1
Other mistake: Jerry Grimes follows Rockford to the theater, sits at the bar, orders bourbon and water and waits for Jim to come out of the bathroom. Jim meanwhile set up a trap for him, which somehow does not affect anyone else, and Jerry ends up getting roughed up. He then drives off to this other joint, where he sits at the bar...which happens to be the exact same bar with the exact same posters as the other one.
Backlash of the Hunter - S1-E1
Revealing mistake: The exterior shot of the house of the rich Miss Elias preceding Dr. Ruben Seelman's phone call, is a zoom on a static photography with a visible line on it. It is reused later in the episode (after Jim pulverizes his own picture in the phone book), with the exact same telling line. (00:30:20)
Backlash of the Hunter - S1-E1
Continuity mistake: When Dr. Ruben Seelman stands to add 'just one more thing' before Jim leaves, he's holding a pen and a bone in hand, but just the pen remains in the following shot. (00:29:50)
Backlash of the Hunter - S1-E1
Continuity mistake: At the odd restaurant where Rockford puts on the rather flashy tie, continuity is spotty when the two sit down to have dinner. The position of the menu and Sara's arm are obviously changing with the reverse shots. (00:26:15)
Backlash of the Hunter - S1-E1
Continuity mistake: Sara tells Rockford that the mysterious woman is, according to her brother, very attractive. Rockford has in hand the same glass her just put down as he made the joke about her being dredged from the river. (00:19:30)
Backlash of the Hunter - S1-E1
Continuity mistake: After meeting the brother of his client, Jim Rockford sits at the table with her. The cup has its handle pointed towards her hand, away from the hand in the reverse shot. (00:18:10)
Backlash of the Hunter - S1-E1
Continuity mistake: Rockford's client sits down and signs the bank check without any fuss. During the whole conversation that happens and follows, Sara Butler is casting a shadow on the grill behind her in the wide angles, on the wall by it in the close-ups. (00:14:00)
The Countess - S1-E4
Continuity mistake: The bow tie cop cuffs Rockford up; his boot is closer to Jim's shoulder in close-ups. (00:20:45)
Backlash of the Hunter - S1-E1
Continuity mistake: Rockford checks out of the client's cheque with both hands in the wide shot, just one in the close-up. (00:14:15)
Backlash of the Hunter - S1-E1
Continuity mistake: In the phone call at the beginning of the episode, once Jerry answers it cuts to Mildred, and then back to Jimmy, but in a mirrored shot. He's to the other side of the door and holds the receiver in the other hand. (00:03:11)
Continuity mistake: Very early in the episode Aura Lee is hitchhiking while carrying a large suitcase. She runs to the car driven by Robert Webber and stands outside the car with the suitcase in hand, which disappears as she enters the car.
The Countess - S1-E4
Plot hole: Rockford and Carl Brego are punching and kicking each other on the beach. Someone shoots him down with a rifle. The INSTANT Rockford goes to check out if he's still breathing, two people randomly happen to walk on him popping over from behind a rock as they were having a super casual and amused chat, but see Rockford by the shirtless brute and make a horrified face. Later in the episode the two identify Rockford and say that it looked like the two were fighting. Their facial expressions at the time don't make sense as depicted. Even if we assume that they did not see anything at all and they played it up/filled the blanks in their mind later, the two are not deaf and yet they were not perturbed or curious in the slightest after the loud bang of a gunshot. The way the scene was shot, the only thing tipping them off about anything was seeing Rockford over the corpse (which had barely a small dot of blood visible at the time and would hardly tip anyone off at first sight). (00:18:45)
The Countess - S1-E4
Factual error: Two cops (the bowtie guy that cuffs Rockford and the one that watches him being taken away from his trailer) report to HQ saying that the protagonist is a suspect for a 157, to which Rockford reacts saying he did not murder anyone (and it is in fact what he is accused of). But homicide is in CA police code 187, not 157. A 157 is an entirely different felony. (00:21:00)
The Countess - S1-E4
Other mistake: The first view of The Countess from Rockford's camera is at an impossible angle that does not match the position on the terrain (nor the footage we see later). (00:03:30)
The Dark and Bloody Ground - S1-E3
Character mistake: Clyde Russell tells Rockford to meet him at his place in "Ambazac Road in Bel Air." The name of the street in real life is Ambazac Way. (00:38:20)
