Continuity mistake: After Rockford gives Dexter's secretary, Miss Adams, his last lit cigarette for her collection, when it cuts to Rockford driving up to the apartments, his front license plate number is "835-OKG" but it's "853-OKG" on the back license plate. (00:06:00)
Continuity mistake: While Rockford is kept waiting at Tallman's office he expresses his frustration to the secretary, Betty, and when she puts her eyeglasses back on in the closeup her left hand is empty, but in the next shot a pencil has suddenly appeared in her raised hand. (00:35:00)

Visible crew/equipment: After Rockford comes up with the plan regarding the power of attorney and mineral rights, when it cuts to the trailer just as Rockford walks out of his bedroom carrying his garment bag, as the camera pans from right to left we can see the boom pole and mic hovering near the bottom left side of the screen. The entire microphone is visible at lower left corner beside the envelopes when Becker says, "Mineral rights," and slaps that envelope down. (00:16:25)
Visible crew/equipment: After the body is found in the shipping crate Becker and Rockford talk about Rocky, and as Rockford asks Becker if they'll put out an APB, we see the shadow of the moving boom mic at the top of the screen. (00:38:55)
Continuity mistake: After the police inform Rockford that Prentiss Carr's cause of death was suicide, when it cuts to the closeup of Carr's widow pouring the drink, the woman in the closeup has long nails and is not wearing a belt. In the following shots Janet Carr is wearing a long red belt and her nails are shorter. (00:08:50)
Visible crew/equipment: While the two goons are trying to find Rocky they start chasing after Rockford, and when both cars drive through the car wash area, in the long shot we see a car wash employee at the left, and at the center of the screen we see a camera operator carrying a hand-held camera rushing after the cars as he's filming them. Continuity mistake: The sheriff's goons beat Rockford up, and he slumps back against their car. Depending on the angle, his left hand goes inside the jacket or over his right hand. (00:32:50)
Continuity mistake: Rockfords drops the hitchhiker at her place, and they chat about going to dinner. In close-ups, Marilyn Polonski's left hand is next to her left shoulder on the car roof; every time it cuts to the slightly wider angle the left arm is placed across, so her left hand is in front of her right shoulder. Continuity mistake: After he shows the picture to Marilyn Polonski, Rockford puts the picture away into his jacket pocket with his right hand, which turns into the left hand at the reverse shot. (00:21:40)
