Corrected entry: When we see John's office, he is listed on the door as John Smith with Professional Engineer below it. A Professional Engineer (P.E.) is not a type of engineer but a professional group designation. While it would likely be on the door, so would the actual type of engineer that he is supposed to be. His door should read John Smith, P.E. with the type of engineer (such as Civil Engineer or Construction Engineer) below it.

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)
Corrected entry: In Return of the Jedi, both Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi were not aware that there was another Skywalker, Leia, until Yoda explained to them. In Revenge of the Sith, it was very obvious that Obi-Wan was holding Luke and Leia was born while he was still nearby. Therefore the fact Obi-Wan did not know about Leia is somewhat strange.
Correction: Obi-Wan DID know about Leia (after all, he was the one who explained to Luke that he had a twin sister); in Empire, he mentions that Luke is their "last hope" because Leia doesn't know about her powers or heritage, and he doesn't think they'll be able train her in time (if at all).
Correction: Obi-Wan, of course, knows Leia exists, as he had an eventful encounter with her when she was a child, shown in the Obi-Wan Kenobi miniseries detailing his bond with her, which would then tie in with what she describes in A New Hope about him serving her father (Bail Organa) during the Clone Wars.

Marge vs. the Monorail - S4-E12
Corrected entry: When Lurleen is talking to Kent Brockman, her voice is completely different than how we heard it in "Colonel Homer".
Correction: This is intentional. The hoarse, scratchy voice (along with "I spent last night in a ditch") is supposed to denote how rough her life's been since "Colonel Homer".

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2005)
Corrected entry: Near the very end of the movie, watch when Arthur finally gets his cup of tea. When poured from the kettle, the tea is black. When he sets it back down almost right away, it has cream added.
Correction: The cream was added to the cup before the tea was poured.

Itchy and Scratchy: The Movie - S4-E6
Corrected entry: How exactly did the chair from Miss Hoover's classroom get stuck to Homer's backside? There was nothing sticky on the chair when we first saw it.
Correction: His rear end was so fat it got wedged in the seat.

Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999)
Corrected entry: After Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan are gassed at the beginning, the door opens and they come out to fight the robots. During the entire fighting scene, the yellow gas remains inside the room although the door is wide open. In reality it would come out and diffuse.
Correction: By the time the droids get there, the rather large room has filled with gas, which is still being blown into the room after the door opens; therefore, it only seems like it's not diffusing, since the gas is so voluminous and ever-increasing in mass.

Sin City (2005)
Corrected entry: It is stated that Hartigan could smell the Yellow Bastard's blood and him whenever he's near and that it's a very powerful smell. So why didn't he detect him in the back seat of the car on the way to the hotel?

The Phantom of the Opera (2004)
Corrected entry: Throughout the entire movie, various occurrences are seen of electrical lighting in the Opera Populaire. For example, the lamp Madame Giry turns on just before she begins to tell the story of how she rescued the Phantom. Phantom of the Opera is supposed to take place in the 1870. However, Edison did not first invent the light bulb until 1879. Hence, the electric lights would have been impossible.
Correction: In the case of Mme. Giry turning on the light, she's turning up the gas in the lamp, making it burn brighter.

Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi (1983)
Corrected entry: The idea that Han, Luke and the gang would jeopardize the mission by wasting time looking for Leia in the forest and hanging out with the Ewoks as long as they do is insane. They have a thousand ships on route to destroy the Death Star and they decide to go after one missing soldier?
Correction: As stated in the briefing room scene, Luke, Leia and Chewie were the command crew for the shuttle; Han has already chosen the soldiers to carry out the mission, and as such, they know the drill and can carry it out without him (after all, what if he died in battle?). Leia, whilst technically expendible as a team member, is an important leader in the Rebellion, and to lose her like that would be a terrible blow to the Alliance.

Back to the Future (1985)
Corrected entry: At the end when George's book is delivered, Lorraine says it is his first novel. If that is the case, what has he been doing for the past 20-30 years to support his family and make them better off than they were at the start?
Correction: His improved self-confidence would have landed him a better job in the meantime. Also, just because it's his first novel doesn't mean he hasn't been writing; he could have published plenty of articles or short stories.

Saw (2004)
Corrected entry: Why doesn't Dr. Gordon recognise his own patient (Jigsaw), laying before him?
Correction: It was established that Dr. Gordon didn't know his own patients' names (particularly this one) when Zep had to tell the him who the patient was; it's not surprising that he wouldn't recognize the man, especially when the doctor's fearing for his own life (not to mention the fact that Jigsaw's face is covered in blood).
Correction: When lying down jigsaw's head is turned facing Adam, making it impossible for Lawrence to see his face/ recognize John.

Ocean's Twelve (2004)
Corrected entry: After the heist in Amsterdam of the original bond note, Isabel sticks her finger in the putty where the cross-bow hit the wall, revealing white putty painted over to match the wall. In a flashback of the heist, Rusty is seen filling the hole with putty that is brown in color to match the wall.
Correction: Pitt's putty is white; we even see him painting over it.

Ocean's Twelve (2004)
Corrected entry: Early in the film it is mentioned that the interest for each of the eleven is $6 million, on top of the $160 million, which would add up to about $226 million. Benedict receives a check for only $198 million at the end.
Correction: They said a *safe* amount of interest to pay would be about $6 million each. We don't know the interest rate Benedict charged them; even Reuben doesn't know, since he asks Benedict if it's enough.

Ocean's Twelve (2004)
Corrected entry: At the end of the movie, when Isabel walks into the poker game, her hands are empty. The camera cuts back to her and suddenly she has a glass of wine in her hand.
Correction: Rusty got her the glass of wine when he got his own drink between the shots; this scene is made up of several cuts designed to flash the scene forward a bit each time (example: we don't actually *see* most of them sit down to play cards, they're just suddenly there).

National Treasure (2004)
Corrected entry: When together, Abagail refers to Riley as "Riley," even though the only name of his she learned was the false one that he gave her during their first encounter.
Correction: Ben would've introduced Riley properly after he had admitted his own real name, probably during the drive to Ben's father's.

Star Trek: Insurrection (1998)
Corrected entry: Shortly after Picard realises that he feels younger, he has a meeting with Anij, his male friend, and the young boy. Picard jokes that the boy must be 78, and he responds that he is twelve. The boy's father then says the radiation won't affect him until he's quite a bit older. Yet earlier, when our heroes first beam down, the children are playing with 'remarkable' dexterity and coordination, which could only be the result of exposure to the radiation.
Correction: The father's referring only to the effect on the boy's aging; that is, the aging won't start to slow until the boy hits puberty. There's no possible way for radiation NOT to affect people in the vicinity, so the children's coordination, etc, *would* be affected.

The Simpsons (1989)
Corrected entry: Lisa says her IQ is 159, but in "Homer's Enemy," we are told it's 156. Lisa hasn't aged in 15 years so it won't have changed. More likely to be writers not remembering what they have said before.
Correction: IQ measurement is not exact, and many factors, such as a person's environment, can affect how well one performs, intellectually speaking, though one's IQ usually hovers around a certain area of the scale. For Lisa to go from 159 to 156 is not unusual (a drop to, say, 136 would be much more cause for concern). She may just have had another test recently.

Correction: Given that John isn't actually an engineer, and that the office was a front, it's more of a character mistake (his forgetting to add the type of engineer on the sign) rather than a movie mistake.
