The Avengers (2012)

Corrected entry: MAJOR SPOILERS: Agent Coulson dies with his eyes open. When Fury stands up, Coulson's eyes are suddenly closed.

Brad

Correction: If you look closely you can see that his left eye is partially open in both the close-up and the wider shots. You can't see his right eye in the wider shot so you can't make the comparison.

XIII

Corrected entry: The scene when the police men charge into the crowd of bad guys and the camera is displayed over head there is one actor policeman with a yellow vest who is ahead of all the other police men and he seems to throw a punch into the opposing crowd but two goons go opposite side and he missesthe punch, the actor almost baffled continues to run with his fist out to hit someone but everyone concentrates on the other police men, he slows down and finally after realizing this an actor from the goons side comes after him. Pretty funny.

Correction: A character missing a punch does not qualify as a mistake, not even a character mistake. Think how many mistakes we would have if we include allow a gunman missing his target in a shootout in all movies to be a mistake.

XIII

He is probably overwhelmed by the chaos.

Corrected entry: Bane and Batman have a fistfight in the street, in broad daylight, in the middle of a massive war between police and mercenaries. Both sides have guns, yet not a single person thinks to shoot either of these high-profile target men, let alone each other, after the two crowds come together.

Correction: This is more particularly true for the Police officers: If they were to shoot and miss they could hit another police officer. Not worth the risk. As for the explanation why anyone didn't shoot Batman or Bane? Who knows? BUT Shoulda/woulda/coulda submissions do not qualify for movie mistakes.

XIII

Correction: This has never been a diagnosed condition in his case. In Episode 13 of the same season, during a group conversation he accidentally says "good story" with Penny present and immediately realized that he talked in front of a female then covered his mouth. This is just a individual non-medical problem.

XIII

Corrected entry: Towards the end of the film, it is mentioned that the bomb will go off in 11 minutes. There's a chase scene with Gordon in the back of the truck with the bomb and at one point, you can see the timer on the bomb reads 17 minutes. In close up, it reads 10 minutes.

Brad

Correction: It never seen to display 17 minutes. The 7 could be mistaken for a 1 if the timer is displayed at a distance.

Deep Impact (1998)

Corrected entry: When the Beiderman comet hits the Earth you can see from the audience's view that it stays about the same size from when it first enters Earth's atmosphere and when it hits the ground. This is not possible; the heat and pressure generated by the velocity of something as large as a comet slamming into the Earth's atmosphere is enough to even deteriorate rock and metal partially upon reentry, and Beiderman is a comet, meaning it is made mostly of ice, which melts much faster than an asteroid made of rock would. Realistically, even by conservative estimates, a great deal of the Beiderman comet would have been burned off or separated during its entry into the Earth's atmosphere, certainly enough to visibly reduce its size.

Correction: There is no evidence of this (the comet NOT changing size). We don't even see the comet itself at all upon entering Earth's atmosphere. It is seen burning up with a huge ashy trail/path. Clearly indicating that comet is undergoing significant "change."

Deep Impact (1998)

Corrected entry: When Leo Beiderman and his family are watching the live report from the White House, in which the President tells the world about the asteroid discovery, he also mentions that the asteroid will be named Leo Beiderman. After a moment the phone rings because someone heard about Leo on TV and when the door bell rings Leo opens it and he sees all his neighbours. It's absolutely impossible for them to get to his house that fast. They only just heard his name on the TV and after a few seconds all of them are already at his door.

Correction: His girlfriend who lives across the street was the first one there. Pretty sure a someone can run a short distance in little time portrayed in the movie. NOT everyone was there immediately. We see the crowd gather after some time has passed.

XIII

Corrected entry: After Scarecrow exacts punishment on Gordon and crew, Miranda Tate is taken by Bane. The next shot she is with Fox when Bruce Wayne is brought in and Cat woman fights off a couple of the mercenaries. At the end she is held captive once again with Bane.

Correction: These scenes are set apart well enough in the movie for the viewer to understand that they are not continuous. After Scarecrow sends Gordon and his crew to exile, Bane calls for Miranda over to him. Somewhere between this scene and the next scene, she would have devised a plan to goto Fox to gather info. After Wayne rescues Fox and leaves her behind, she would have gone back to Bane to inform him. Just because we weren't shown how or why, it doesn't make it a mistake.

Dumb and Dumber (1994)

Corrected entry: The goons' plan to infiltrate Harry and Lloyd in the van doesn't make sense. When Mental learns that the duo thinks that he's the Gas Man, he comes to the conclusion that they have been followed (by Harry and Lloyd) "for weeks." But then, he decides to confront them face-to-face, which makes no sense but to move the story along.

Knever

Correction: Mental theorized that "they must have been following us for weeks" but couldn't be sure. He decides to confront them face-to-face to see if they do recognize him. As the story plays out, Mental learns that not only do they not know who he is, but they don't even know the purpose of the briefcase. Hence the scene at the restaurant.

XIII

Corrected entry: In the opening scene, humans with hunting tools find Transformers building the Sun Harvester amid mountains so high they are covered in snow. This is to be the site of the Great Pyramids, and within some thousands (thousands, not millions) of years, the mountains have completely eroded down to sand dunes.

cornpone

Correction: It was never stated where this opening scene occurred relative to current day geography. Transformers remained on Earth since this time. During these thousands of years (not millions) the machine could easily have moved.

XIII

Corrected entry: Joseph Gordon-Levitt commandeers a car to rescue Commissioner Gordon, he drives through exploding streets, falling debris and smoke, but when he arrives at the hospital the car's exterior appears in pristine condition. Looks like he stopped to have the car detailed between shots.

Correction: He arrives at he hospital in the car which is in the same condition as he "borrowed" it. His original car got damaged, but the other car was taken by him after the explosions had finished.

The Dark Knight (2008)

Corrected entry: Batman scans a shattered bullet in a wall and finds a fingerprint on it. Firing the bullet would have certainly destroyed the fingerprint, as the bullet would be in contact with the barrel. Part of the fingerprint is seen on an area which would be in direct contact with the barrel. Airflow over the bullet would also more than likely destroy a fingerprint.

Correction: Much of Batman's technology is more advanced than "the real world." So we have to accept that his fingerprint scanner does work. Also, you can't remove fingerprints by simply blowing air on it. Airflow cannot remove fingerprints.

True Lies (1994)

Corrected entry: The exterior shot, from behind the Harrier, towards the building shows that all the windows are mirrored glass. Harry would only have seen his reflection on the side of the building and couldn't have known where the terrorists were, or even if he knew which floor, whether there were any hostages or other innocent people inside.

Correction: Harry had a situation-report given to him by fellow agent Faisil, who was posing as part of the news crew inside the building. This included where all the hostages and terrorists were. Faisil was very clear on where all the hostages were. As for Harry knowing where the terrorists were, he didn't. That's why he (virtually) shot up the entire floor to make sure he got as many as possible.

The Dark Knight (2008)

Corrected entry: During the opening bank robbery, after the robbers fire a few rounds into the air to get the attention of the customers and tellers, one robber, Chuckles, grabs one of the guards, drags him over to the desk, and pistol whips him over the back. Seconds later, right before Chuckles is killed by the shotgun-wielding bank manager, the same pistol-whipping moment is repeated as a close-up.

dmcreif

Correction: No it isn't. This isn't even a repeated scene because you would've seen a big camera in front of the guard the first time. The thug pistol whipped the guard again because he wasn't cooperating. Also, directly after whipping the guard the second time the thug made a speech about about anyone not cooperating will get punished.

The Dark Knight (2008)

Corrected entry: At the start of the scene were Wuertz is killed, you can see that the beer taps are right in front of him. Then Dent arrives and the beer taps are gone.

moviefan2345

Correction: Not exactly true. Look carefully, the beer taps are to Wuertz right. When Harvey comes in he stands right in front of him. The taps are to Harvey's left and remain out of the camera's view for the rest of the scene.

The Dark Knight (2008)

Correction: Obviously the sixth one wasn't tied up. If there had been five swat members and six fall out then this would be a mistake.

The Financial Permeability - S2-E14

Corrected entry: In 'Pilot' (season 1, episode 1), Leonard and Sheldon attempt to sell their sperm for money to install a T1 line in their apartment, and in 'The Dumpling Paradox' (season 1, episode 7), Sheldon says to Leonard "Frankly, if I could afford the rent, I would ask you to leave". Yet in this episode he says to Penny, "My expenses account for 46.9% of my after-tax income". The only way that his expenses could account for less than half his income just over a year after these lines can only really be explained away if the university gave him a pay rise of over 100%, which is incredibly unlikely for many reasons.

Douglasac

Correction: There are so many possible situations that could explain all of this. Regarding his payrise, You said "unlikely" but that does not mean impossible. That aside, Sheldon could have changed his spending/expense habits. Personally, I did when I got a payrise, regardless of how much it was. Also Sheldon has also proven to us that he is capable of making sarcastic comments now and then whether he is aware he is doing it or not.

XIII

The Loobenfeld Decay - S1-E10

Corrected entry: In "The Loobenfield Decay" Sheldon and Leonard go to absurd lengths to avoid having to hear Penny perform because her singing voice is so horrible. But in series 2 episode 18 "The Work Song Nanocluster", series 3 episode 3 "The Gothowitz Deviation" and series 3 episode 8 "The Adhesive Duck Deficiency" (amongst others) she is shown to have a strong, pleasant singing voice, and she sings in front of both men without them objecting. They aren't just being polite - they genuinely like her singing. So, which is it?

Correction: If either of those episodes occurred before "The Loobenfield Decay" episode than this could be a valid plot hole BUT they all occur after. It is fair to conclude that she got better.

Lost (2004)

Season 1 generally

Corrected entry: In Charlie's flashbacks aboard the aeroplane, we see he goes into first class to snort the heroin. As the turbulence hits, he leaves and nearly gets hit by the trolley, before buckling himself in - still in first class. Therefore when the plane goes down, Charlie should've been in the first class section of the plane and consequently shouldn't be alive and on the beach with the rest of the survivors.

Hovis63

Correction: This scene is not shown in real time (i.e. continuous). If you look carefully, just before he finds a seat to buckle himself into, behind him is the divider he passed on the way to first class. Although it does not make sense, he must have crawled all the way back to the middle section of the plane. If he sat immediately in first class you would have seen the glass wall behind him, but you do not.

Pilot (1) - S1-E1

Corrected entry: In Pilot 1, when Jack has Kate sew up his back, it shows the sewing kit with colored string. Later in the scene Kate asks Jack what color he wants, and he says, "Standard black," even though there was no black string in the sewing kit.

Leachy

Correction: Yes there is. There are six colors in total in the kit. In true lost style, the black is right next to the white thread (to keep up with the on-going black/white, good/evil themes).
