Avatar (2009)

Corrected entry: In the scene we see Pandora's sky, in the sky we see a gigantic planet and another planet (or kind of a moon) but much smaller (like our moon). In this shot we see a shadow on the big planet (on its right side) which looks like it caused due to the small moon shadowing it, but when looking on the small moon we see that its left half is black (no sun) and right half is white (sun on it). This means that the sun is on the right side of the picture outside the frame. If that is the case there is no way that this moon (or even Pandora itself) will create a shadow on the big planet.

Correction: Pandora is part of the Alpha-Centuri star system. A two-star solar system.

XIII

There is only one sun in this system consisting of several gas giants including polyphemus, the blue gas giant that Pandora orbits.

Avatar (2009)

Corrected entry: When Quaritch runs out to chase the escapee ship (he holds his breath and runs outside), he fires several rounds. We see a shot of the ship toward the right of the screen moving left. Quaritch, in his last effort pulls out his handgun and fires 4 shots across the screen (left to right on the screen, right to left for him). The camera cuts back to the ship. The ship is going far too slow for any but the last shot to have hit, and his others were so dead-on that it can't be an accidental miss.

bigfootcube

Correction: Quaritch is almost out of breath after holding onto a single breath of air. He's firing a hand gun. The ship is at least a hundred metres away. You're expecting him to be dead-on accurate with his shots?

Avatar (2009)

Corrected entry: In one of the final scenes when the humans are marching single file onto the spaceship, both the "human Norm" and "avatar Norm" are visible in separate shots. Only one or the other should be present.

Correction: While there are distinctive features for the Na'vi, it is quite difficult to tell if that is in fact Norm's avatar or another "avatar" in similar clothing. Norms avatar is seen to be killed during battle. Na'vi beings cannot be resurrected. Therefore it is unlikely to be Norm's avatar, rather another one in similar clothing.

Lost (2004)

Born to Run - S1-E22

Corrected entry: The cops shoot at Kate when she tries to speed away with her childhood friend in the car. A real cop would not shoot at a person who has no weapons, especially if an innocent victim is in close range.

Correction: A police officer breaking protocol? This happens all the time (in every country).

Angels & Demons (2009)

Corrected entry: When the hitman throws Cardinal Baggia to the water and salutes Langdon, he closes the van's door, but when he's running away the van's door is open again.

Correction: As he is driving out of the plaza we see as shot of the left side of the van. This is the only time we see this side of the van. The door is seen to be closed.

XIII

Corrected entry: After the chase in Paris, Stormshadow climbs out of the Hummer and grabs a warhead, but takes the kill-switch from another warhead (the one beneath). So in fact, the kill-switch wouldn't work on the warhead fired into the Eiffel Tower. (00:59:05)

Senil

Correction: There are four warheads and four kill switches in the suitcase. Since we are not briefed on the layout of the suitcase, we must believe that the two warheads facing to the right are controlled by the two kill switches on the right (and vice versa for the warheads on the left).

Star Trek (2009)

Corrected entry: When Spock and Kirk first meet Scotty, after Spock explains how Scotty has not yet discovered trans-warp beaming, the camera shows Scotty from the front and Spock and Kirk from the back. When he asks "Are you from the future?" Kirk responds "Yeah, he is, I'm not," however, if you look closely Kirk does not move his jaw with what he's saying.

Correction: The shot is taken from behind Kirk and Spock. His mouth/jaw is not in view at all. Impossible to tell if he is moving his mouth or not.

2012 (2009)

Corrected entry: When the actor is driving the RV he and the RV falls into where the earth is giving way.the RV falls backside in first which would make him fall looking up at the sky and the window is not broke but somehow he is able to climb out of the hole. (02:18:25)

choppycho

Correction: No, the window was not broken, but was shattered enough to be easily broken and pushed out. We don't see how he gets out, so only assumptions will make this mistake valid.

XIII

Corrected entry: In the scene where Duke and Ana are escaping the Cobra base, both Duke and Ana enter the same submarine. As Duke pulls away from the crumbling base, Ana is nowhere to be seen. A short time later, Ana reappears sitting right behind Duke in the sub.

Butlock Jones

Correction: Incorrect. She is behind him on the right the whole time. You can see a glimpse of her as he pulls away. A very quick glimpse but she is there.

XIII

Corrected entry: On the "East Africa" battle scene when the choppers come in from the left, you can see snow capped mountains behind.

Correction: And the mistake is ? There are some of the highest and longer mountain ranges along "East Africa". Given that the movie does not specify which "East African" country it is, it could be one of many country with high mountain ranges. Mount Kilimanjaro is in Tanzania which is an "East African" country. It has a snow cap.

XIII

Corrected entry: When "New" Wolverine breaks out of the dam, after he was soaked in water, he comes out perfectly dry and hair neatly styled.

Correction: The is no scene of him coming out of the water. The next time we see/visibly him is when is is hiding in the barn. And when we do, he is not dry at all. He is soaked from (most likely) sweat from his run. As for the styled hair, it is acceptable deliberate choice of the film makers to maintain the look of the character.

XIII

Corrected entry: When X-factor is in the elevator, Deadpool's two swords are in a holster strapped to his back, but in the next shot one of his swords is instantly out of the holster.

squrillyboy

Correction: "Instantly" is an over-exaggeration. When the elevator reaches the top floor, Wade says "Its time to go to work". The swords are still in their scabbards and the elevators doors are not open yet. When they do open, we see Wade with his hands on his swords and he unsheathes them as the door open. He is obviously highly skilled swordsman and as such would not require much time (milliseconds) to unsheathe his swords.

XIII

Corrected entry: After Logan and Victor are busted in Vietnam, we move to "6 years later" and we experience the rest of the film. The Vietnam war ended April 30th, 1975, which means that the latest that this film could have taken place was 1981. In addition, The Three Mile Island accident occured in 1979. However, the Army in the film is regularly using Humvees, which did not enter into production until 1984.

mjcrawford

Correction: Wrong assumptions. The "six years" is from the time Wolverine quits the group. Not their "execution". It is never made known how long the team has been in operation. But it is long enough to fill in the gaps. It is hinted that there would be a few years between this movie and first X-men movie. The age of Scott Somers (Cyclops) as a gauge. Putting the movie set in the late 90s (at the latest).

XIII

Corrected entry: In the scene after the F-16s air strike and 2000 pound bomb attack, Ironhide is seen running away from the explosions, you can see his weapons break and fall off. Yet just before the Fallen attacks the resurrected Optimus, you can see that Ironhide now has his weapons back on his arms.

Correction: Between Sam being worked on and Optimus being revived, there is plenty of time for Ratchet to retrieve them or even re-generate new weapons (we still have little understanding of their species).

FlashForward (2009)

Show generally

Corrected entry: When they travel to Utah, the Asian guy has the same vision as the female officer (none) as to believing they would die. Later on, when they enter the warehouse, the female office dies. The Asian guy explains to his co-worker that it seemed true and he says that five minutes after sharing his vision with the female officer, she died. When they landed it was bright in the day and when she died it was in the dark of night.

skipp

Correction: It was a figure of speech - he didn't actually mean exactly five minutes. He just meant, very soon after his discussion with her regarding her blank flashforward, she died.

XIII

Corrected entry: In the scene when Bruce Willis and Maggie Q are having a fight, Bruce throws Maggie through a shelf and the next shot cuts to Bruce holding a piece of her hair. The next shot cuts to Maggie and there is no sign of hair or scalp damage. (01:04:35)

Correction: Hair doesn't always break/snap at the root. Besides we do not see her entire head to make the assumption that there is "no sign of damage". She also has long black hair, impossible to tell where exactly the hair was ripped off.

XIII

Correction: Put it down as a character mistake or as deliberate mistake by Barney. Barney wanted to include all women he "dated". Given the fact that he is only revealing this when he is with Lily suggests he did not disclose this with the group when telling her back story to help the group make a decision.

Training Day (2001)

Corrected entry: In the scene where Alonzo, Jake and Alonzo's "crew" break in to Roger's house with the warrant Alonzo paid the judge for (apparently to rob him of the money in the floor of the kitchen while making it look official), Alonzo furthers the plot by shooting Roger with the shotgun, and Jeff with the "Stinger". He and his crew all go along with the story that Jeff got shot by Roger as he broke the door down and Jake dropped Roger with the shotgun. This was all after they dug up the floor and seized the money. Are we to believe that (in a matter of 5 minutes, no less) they took the time to dig up the money while their fellow officer was bleeding to death on the floor? Even if that's the case, they didn't have enough time between when Jeff was reportedly shot and paramedics showed up. Even if they said Roger already had the floor dug up before they got there, they used the "picks and shovels" that Alonzo was so persistent his crew sign out before they served the warrant. The whole scene makes no sense and Alonzo's scheme would have raised far too many questions for detectives.

Correction: This submission provides its own solutions. Self-correcting entry and based on the submitters opinion not fact. These are long serving and somewhat respected police officers. They have gotten away with other similar events. Yes they could have easily convinced others that the floor was already dug up because the "criminal" was getting ready to move it. Just because we are not told on how they were going to tell the full story, it does not mean it is a mistake.

Knowing (2009)

Corrected entry: If you pay attention to the first date on the list that John types in while deciphering it, the date is 2/12/59, if this movie is based in October around the time of the 50th anniversary of the opening of the school in 1959, this disaster would have already happened when the list was written.

hyper5113

Correction: Why is this a mistake? This was a list of major disasters. Who said it had to be only future predictions?

XIII

Correction: It's December 2, 1959, not February 12, 1959.

The Hangover (2009)

Corrected entry: In the scene where the tiger wakes up while they're driving in Alan's father's car, they run into several other vehicles, which smashes the front bumper of the Mercedes. Soon after, the car's exterior is in perfect condition.

kelsey

Correction: They only side-swipe a bus, hitting it with the front-left of the car. No other cars are hit and the font bumper in fully intact when they come to a stop. When the guys are pushing the car, black streak marks can clearly be seen on the side of the car, from the side of the bumper (front-left) to the driver door.
