Continuity mistake: In the Well of Souls, Indy and Sallah place the Ark in the box. Indy closes the box with a wooden lid and looks up. In the next shot, a torch has appeared in Indy's hand, a rope has appeared, tied to the four sides of the box, and Sallah has appeared next to Indy's left shoulder. In addition, the box is already several metres above Indy and Sallah in the second shot. (01:09:43)

Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)
Suggested correction: There is an obvious time jump between the shots. They simply decided not to spend ten minutes showing all the details of sealing the box and tying the rope around it.
I wouldn't say this was a deliberate time jump, as they show Indy carefully and slowly placing the Ark in the box, then sealing it. In addition, when he looks up, he immediately says, "All right... take it up! Easy!" so it's clear this is a continuity mistake.
He says, "All right. Take it up." After the cut. Yes, he does look up before the cut, but since everything else is different, we are supposed to interpret it as a jump in time.
In fact, almost nothing changes between these two scenes, except for these small but clear details.
There's a deliberate jump in time between these two shots, and this transition is done creatively. First, we're below with Indiana as he places the lid on the crate and looks up toward the top entrance; it then cuts to the entrance POV, and now we're looking down as the tied-up crate is being lifted. The jump in time between these two shots is transitioned using a type of match cut. Absolutely no mistakes regarding these two consecutive shots.

Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)

Continuity mistake: The position of the Top Secret sign and the whole text is put on the ark's box across vertically laid planks, with a wood crossbar on the right, which only the side panels have. A shot later the sign appears slanted across horizontally laid planks. Though it could be argued that there could be a second sign on the opposite side with horizontal planks, when the warehouse guy turns left to store the crate, we get a glimpse of the left side and it's not painted.
Suggested correction: The other text and the different plank design could be on the base of the box or on the front wall (the wall opposite the man pushing the box), two walls we never see when the box is being pushed. In fact, at one point the camera passes next to a box that has two texts, one on a short wall and one on a long wall.

Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade (1989)
Continuity mistake: When the tank is about to go over the cliff you can see that there is no one sticking out of it, but in the next shot, Vogel can be seen sticking out and yelling.
Suggested correction: This entry is incorrect. Vogel is always visible as the tank is going over the cliff.

Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999)
Continuity mistake: Just before the Battle of Naboo begins, Jar Jar and Tarpals are at the front of the Great Gungan Army. In one shot, Jar Jar turns and says, "Steady, steady," to the Gungans. During this shot, Captain Tarpals disappears.
Suggested correction: He doesn't disappear; he is just offscreen. The close-up shot of Jar-Jar is taken at a more head-on angle.
Judging by the almost zero distance between the two characters, I'd say it's practically impossible that no part of Tarpals' body could have been seen. Jar Jar's hand would have even touched Tarpals if he were still there.
Nonsense. We can't see the feet of their mounts, and apparent distance depends on the focal length of the lens, so there is no way of telling how far apart they are. Definitely more than "zero distance." In the second shot, there doesn't appear to be much more than 4 feet visible to his immediate left (our right). Certainly, a reasonable distance based on the first shot.

Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)
Corrected entry: When the Nazi soldier is killed by the airplane blades, some of his blood splatters on the pilot cabin glass where Marion is, but in the next shot, the blood has totally disappeared from it. (01:20:24)
Correction: This is incorrect. First, the blood splatters on the gunner's turret cabin glass, not the pilot cabin one. Second, Marion crawls from the gunner's turret cabin to the pilot cabin, where there is no blood. Also, this last point is not shown exactly in the next shot, as this mistake suggests.

Home Alone (1990)
Corrected entry: When Kevin is hiding in the nativity set, you can see him on the right, just covered in the green robe. When it changes to the close up shot, he's now holding a shepherd's staff, which would have been visible in the previous shot.
Corrected entry: During the AT-AT attack scene, Luke says "Rogue 3, Wedge, I've lost my gunner". Then seconds later when he flies through the walker's legs, he calls him Rogue 2.

Young Sherlock Holmes (1985)
Continuity mistake: Towards the end when Rathe is about to fight Sherlock, among several things a sword magically appears at Holmes' feet.
Suggested correction: This is incorrect. Holmes carries a sword from the moment he and Watson leave the pyramid. He drops it to the ground when Elizabeth is shot and picks it up again to fight Rathe.

Inglourious Basterds (2009)
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Col. Landa hands himself over to Lt. Raine, Utivich cuffs Col. Landa. Then when Lt. Raine is carving the swastika into Col. Landa's forehead, you can see him clutching at grass with his right hand, which isn't cuffed. (01:09:20 - 01:11:40)
Suggested correction: There is a clear time gap between Aldo threatening Landa with the knife and Aldo carving the swastika into Landa's forehead. It is entirely possible that his handcuffs were removed between the two scenes.

Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)
Continuity mistake: When Indy sits down in the seat of the plane look behind him, there is nobody holding a Life magazine or fitting the description of the man later shown watching him from the other seat.
Suggested correction: This is not true. Dennis Muren enters just before Indy and sits down. The camera focuses on Indy, giving Muren enough time to grab the magazine and cover his face.
Trivia: The Aztec chest that the medallions are in is the same chest used in Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Suggested correction: Actually, the only chest in Raiders of the Lost Ark (the one that contains the Ark) is totally different from the Aztec chest.

Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade (1989)
Corrected entry: When Indiana breaks in through the window, he lets go of his whip, yet he has it through the rest of the film despite us never seeing him retrieve it.
Correction: Just because we don't see it onscreen doesn't mean it didn''t happen. He could have retrieved it anytime after killing the guards.
Well... don't they immediately leave the room, before their escape is foiled?
The moment when Indy picks up his whip, it's actually shown. While Henry Jones is studying the broken jar, Indy is coiling the whip in the background.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023)
Trivia: As Sallah leaves Indiana's place, he can be heard singing the same song that he sings in Raiders of the Lost Ark (when Marion gives him a thank-you kiss).
Suggested correction: This is not true, he's actually singing "I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream For Ice Cream".

Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade (1989)
Continuity mistake: In the library before he goes through the hole in the floor, Indiana takes the map out of the diary and gives the diary to Marcus. When Indiana gets caught trying to rescue his dad, they take the diary from him and say Marcus has the map.
Suggested correction: You've forgotten the scene at Donovan's apartment. There, Indy could have cut the page and give it to Brody off-screen.

Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy
Other mistake: In the cut scene at the end of "Rescue the Princess" in A New Hope, Leia shoots the grate and gives the gun back to Luke before she jumps down it. However when they show the hole again, the gun Leia used can be seen sticking just out of the top of the hole.
Suggested correction: This entry is incorrect. In the first place, Leia never gives the gun back to Luke in the cutscene. In second place, there's no gun sticking out of the top of the hole after Leia jumps through it.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone
Continuity mistake: While being sorted into houses, Harry looks up at the Sorting Stool, and there are only three people left to be sorted. Professor McGonagall then calls out the names of four more kids.
Suggested correction: This is incorrect. After Harry is selected for Gryffindor, McGonagall calls Lisa Turpin, Ron Weasley, and Blaise Zabini, three students.
Visible crew/equipment: Indy is at the nuclear test site and exits the house and comes out front. He knocks over the boy on the bike and air raid siren goes off. Just as he stands upright, in the window with curtains, you can see a reflection of a crew member walking by.

Inglourious Basterds (2009)
Factual error: Although Dieter Hellstrom is a Gestapo Major, he has the SS runes on his uniform instead of a blank square.
Suggested correction: Nowhere in the movie is he said to be a Gestapo Major. He is SS. Even if he was part of the Gestapo, he could still be an SS officer, as the Gestapo fell under the SS and RSHA.

Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade (1989)
Factual error: The evil SS officer is addressed as "Herr Oberst" (Colonel) throughout the movie. In the SS, however, this rank was called "Standartenfuehrer". (00:56:40)
Suggested correction: In fact, Oberst is the literal translation of the word "Colonel" into German. It would not be unusual for Germans to call a colonel by his rank in his native language (even if he is an SS colonel).
This correction doesn't address the mistake, which is the rank on his uniform isn't what he's addressed as. It has nothing to do with what the word translates into (which the mistake even points out).

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023)
Factual error: Colonel Weber is not an Oberst, but an SS-Oberführer. Given all his men are also SS, there is no likelihood they would use an army rank to address him, especially one that is junior to his actual rank.
Suggested correction: In fact, Oberst is the literal translation of the word "Colonel" into German. It would not be unusual for Germans to call a colonel by his rank in his native language (even if he is an SS colonel).
There is no chance that SS men would use an army rank when referring to an SS officer. That would be like a sailor calling a naval captain "colonel" because the ranks are equivalent.
