Question: How come Harry Potter doesn't see the re-incarnation of the Cruciatus curse Voldermort used on a DeathEater that occured right after Cedric's death? Shouldn't it have came out of Voldermort's wand in some form?

Question: When Scarlet Witch attempts to mind control Hawkeye, he turns it back on her and says something like "Already done the mind control thing...didn't enjoy it the first time." Was this supposed to be an in-joke reference to the fact that Jeremy Renner was publicly bitter about having to spend most of the first film being mind controlled by Loki (which almost got him fired)?
Answer: It's not an in-joke about real life. It's just a direct reference to Loki mind controlling him.

Question: After Vito kills the black hand he goes back up to the roof and smashes the gun into about 6 pieces. He puts the parts down spouts sticking out from the roof. What were these spouts and where did they go? He also put one piece down what looked like a chimney. Wouldn't that land in someones fireplace and be discovered?
Chosen answer: They are vents from furnaces and ovens. They wouldn't fall into the tenements because of things like filters and flues blocking the way.

Question: How come Harry, Ron and Hermione in the past don't see the future Harry and Hermione save Buckbeak? In the first part, Harry, Ron and Hermione stop above Hagrid's house to watch Buckbeak's death so surely they must have also seen the future Harry and Hermione save him?

Question: The book explains Meredith changed Tom's specifications on the production line to try and impress CEO Ed Nichols by cutting costs. But why did she choose to do it on Tom's responsibility in the first place? Why not just change someone else's specifications? Did she despise Tom in some way or did she choose to change Tom's specifications because she knew she was incompetent, and thus chose him to blame in case she messed up?
Answer: Tom was the head of the project. Even with someone else's specifications, it all comes down to him.

Question: Why didn't they just put the small gem explosives in the cart with Yen? Why all the drama with the briefcase?
Answer: They needed Saul to be in the eye-in-the-sky room so he could distract the employees long enough for Dell to switch to video without them noticing.

Disclosure (1994)
Question: Why was Meredith so enthusiastic to make Tom "lose everything"? All she wanted was for him to be transferred or quit so he didn't find out about the changes on the production line, but she is asking him to see pictures of his family and trying to send him to Austin which would be sold, instead of another place. The book even mentions that Meredith was the one who was aiming to sell Austin. Why not just transfer Tom to another place and job in Digicom?
Answer: She needs to heavily discredit him in order to cover up her own mistakes. She wants to transfer him to Austin and then sell it so she can do it quietly and without ado.

American History X (1998)
Question: The family's front door swings out rather than in. I know in places such as Florida, this is due to the hurricane weather so the door does not get blown in. However, in this movie, the family resides in California. We don't have front doors that swing outwards because we do not have hurricanes. Was this a mistake or was there a reason for the door to swing out?
Answer: Just because it's uncommon or even rare for an outer door to swing outwards, doesn't make it a mistake or even special.
Answer: It was probably (or close to being) a "revealing mistake" - how something was done for movie "convenience" or effect. It is much easier, faster, and dramatic if someone can run out of the house and immediately attack someone compared to having to take time to "open the door" (inward, like it is usually done).

Twister (1996)
Question: If the two waterspouts were swirling closely around the pickup truck, how come they weren't able to pick it up?
Chosen answer: A tornado would have to be at least an F3 to be able to pick up a truck. The waterspouts were very small.
The Fujita Scale is incorrectly portrayed as being used to describe the size of a tornado. It's actually used to describe the amount of a damage it has caused AFTER it has passed.

Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971)
Question: How did Willy Wonka know that Charlie and Grandpa Joe had stolen Fizzy Lifting Drinks? The entire time they were in the room they were completely alone and security cameras obviously didn't come into existence at the time.
Answer: Closed circuit security was invented in 1942 and came into common use in the late 60s and early 70s. Beyond that, Wonka could have had Oompa Loompas monitoring the group or simply noticed that they were gone and guessed.

Forrest Gump (1994)
Question: There's an entry mentioning when little Forrest's foot gets stuck in a drain and how the leaves are there, then not. I've seen this movie at least 20 times but don't ever recall seeing that scene in the movie. Did some countries get an edited version?
Answer: Perhaps. It's near the beginning right after Forrest explains how he got his name.
Answer: He gets his foot stuck at 6 minutes and the leaves never move. The shot shifts up in the second shot so you see less leaves but they don't move or disappear.

Star Wars (1977)
Question: What was the explanation for Princess Leia changing from an American accent to a bad British accent and back to an American again during "A New Hope"? Was this simply a case of bad acting and sloppy editing, or was Leia actually mocking Tarkin's British accent (which doesn't seem very dignified for a Princess)?
Chosen answer: In-universe, the accent Tarkin has (and that Leia starts with) is the Coruscanti accent. The one she uses later is an Alderaan accent. In reality, Carrie Fisher had been living in Britain for a while before production started and had picked up a slight accent, which she lost as production continued.

Star Wars (1977)
Question: Why was Han Solo ever promoted to general, given that he typically ran from a fight?
Chosen answer: First off, he didn't always run from a fight. He was a prominent member of the Rebellion and excellent pilot and underworld contact. Second, he was one of the heroes of the Battle of Yavin and several other battles. This is going to get him influence. Third, a general needs to be someone with the courage to run away and not keep after a lost cause, especially as outgunned as the Rebels were.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 (2011)
Question: This question is for those who have read the books. Voldemort never learned that his mother bewitched his father into marrying her - he thinks that his father abandoned him and his mother after learning that she was a witch. Has J.K. Rowling ever stated why she never wrote him learning the truth, or what his reaction would have been?
Answer: I think the problem would be the lack of people who actually would know about it would be amazingly small. Dumbledore tracked his family history down because of his middle name. His mother died young and Voldemort killed his own father so nobody would have been able to give him the answer. Not that he likely would have believed it or cared anyway.
Answer: J.K. Rowling has stated however that if Merope Gaunt had lived and raised Tom Riddle Jr. with love, he might not have become the evil wizard that everybody would fear.
This is not an answer. The question is about Voldemort never learning about his mother's deception - that she bewitched his father into marrying her. He falsely believed that his father abandoned him and his mother.

Question: What accent did Sweeney have? It sounded like he was from a foreign country but moved to America when he was young.
Chosen answer: It's Avery Brooks' natural Indiana accent.
Answer: He does hear them. The screams he hears are the screams of pain from the Cruciatus Curse.
