Continuity mistake: When Topanga joins the group hug, the piece of paper that Eric wrote on is underneath her. When Cory joins in, the paper has disappeared. It then reappears when Mr. Feeny dismisses everyone.(00:20:10 - 00:20:45)
Continuity mistake: When Topanga, Shawn and Angela are hanging out in Cory and Topanga's dorm anticipating Cory's return from the doctor, the slice of pizza that Angela is eating goes from having a small bite taken out of it, to being halfway gone, and back to having one bite taken out of it.(00:12:07 - 00:14:02)
Other mistake: At the beginning of the episode, Eric talks about how Alan's Navy background will cause him to use any means necessary including torture to find out about his birthday party. Cory chimes in and states that Alan was a cook in the Coast Guard. The plot of the Season 1 episode Kid Gloves concerned a necklace Alan gave Cory for his birthday, which Alan himself earned for placing second in his weight class for boxing in the entire Navy. So either Cory doesn't correctly remember his own father's military background, or the show needlessly retconned it.(00:00:43)
Stupidity: When Eric, dressed in drag, tearfully sits down next to Topanga, she asks him if they know each other because she doesn't realise it is him. Topanga's known Eric practically her entire life, and she is one of the smarter characters on the show. Given that Mr. Feeny instantly recognized that Eric and Jack were dressed up as women, Topanga should have recognized it immediately as well.(00:10:40)
Suggested correction:This is a comedy show and this scene is played for laughs. A character not recognizing another character in drag when it is obvious to the audience has been a joke for centuries. Also, on a realistic level, recognizing faces has nothing to do with intelligence.
There's a difference between not recognizing someone you might barely know and being fooled by an obvious disguise worn by someone you've known for 20 years. I fully acknowledge that this scene is played for laughs and that this is a common trope used in movies and television, but the fact that the show went out of its way to show that Mr. Feeny instantly saw through their disguises demonstrates that show itself acknowledged how ridiculous his disguise was, and it was foolish on Topanga's part for not seeing through it.
Factual error: When Cory and Topanga first enter their new couples dorm, they discover it to be a dump. The entire dorm is filthy, cabinets are falling apart, there are large bugs crawling on the floor, and there is no clean running water. Student housing laws would require the university to restore the dorm to liveable conditions before any student could move in. If the health department saw the conditions of the room, the university would undoubtedly be fined for failing to take corrective action.(00:07:45 - 00:10:36)
Continuity mistake: When the voice on the intercom is saying "Paging Dr. Chocolate Pudding," Cory's right hand is on Topanga's right arm, and her hands are in her lap. When the shot changes, both of his hands are suddenly resting on his stomach, and her right hand is suddenly resting on his left leg.(00:07:23)
Character mistake: After Cory and Topanga have their argument in front of everyone, Cory remarks to Shawn that it's their first fight ever. Cory and Topanga had several fights in the show prior to this.(00:12:50)
Continuity mistake: When Shawn stands up on the chair to propose a toast, Eric is at his 9 o'clock. When shot changes, Shawn has instantly rotated his body so that Eric is now at his 6 o'clock.(00:16:47)
Revealing mistake: When Cory opens up the curtains of his bungalow to show Topanga the beach, you can tell the background is just a backdrop, as there are no waves approaching the shore.(00:10:36)
Revealing mistake: When Eric picks up Cory to show him the "For He's A Jolly Good Fellow" dance, Cory screams that Eric is going to knock over the candles, upon which one of the candles on the desk is knocked over and sets fire to the curtains. If you look closely, neither Eric or Cory bump any of the candles nor the desk they are on, the candle just tips over on its own, suggesting an off-screen crew member used wire or string to pull the candle down.(00:07:18)
Continuity mistake: When Morgan is telling Topanga that she wouldn't use her bridesmaid's dress to wipe her ass, she gets cut off by Alan who covers her mouth with his left hand and then begins dragging her out of the reception hall. When the shot changes, he is covering her mouth with his right hand.(00:17:22)
Cory: You gave me bad advice, Feeny. Mr. Feeny: What do you mean? Cory: You were in my dream, Mr. Feeny, and you gave me advice that sucked. Mr. Feeny: I'm not responsible for Dream Feeny.
Revealing mistake: When the family is eating dinner, throughout the scene you can see Jack dabbing his fork into his mashed potatoes and raising the fork to his mouth with little to no potatoes on it in order to give the illusion that he is eating.(00:03:57 - 00:05:05)
Question: In this episode, Shawn enlists in the Army and is even given a uniform complete with a name-tag bearing his last name. Later in the episode, Staff Sergeant Moore affirms that Shawn is not going to be in the Army because he likes him and doesn't want him anywhere near the Army. Can a recruit just be dismissed like that? Even if he was eventually rejected, wouldn't he have to at least be entered into basic training first? Would a Staff Sergeant even have the clout necessary to unilaterally dismiss someone from their enlistment?
Answer:I'm a little fuzzy on the episode, but the uniform could be just part of the ROTC program they were in. They were the same uniforms with minor alterations.
Other mistake: When Cory is trying to get Topanga's parents to reconcile, Topanga's mother mentions to her ex-husband about the "beautiful child they've made." Given that she says "child" in the singular, this can only refer to Topanga. However, the season 1 episode She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not established that Topanga had an older sister named Nebula. So the mistake is that either the show is acting like a character that was firmly established never existed, or Topanga's mother doesn't realise she has at least two children.(00:15:32)
Character mistake: When Shawn is scolding Topanga for getting angry with Cory for travelling to Pittsburgh to try to get her parents back together, he mentions that he travelled a hundred miles to do so. Philadelphia is roughly 300 miles from Pittsburgh. Travelling only 100 miles westward from Philadelphia would barely get them past Hershey.(00:17:53)
Continuity mistake: When Tommy is saying to Eric "We've been hanging out with each other for a long time now," Eric's coffee mug is mere inches from his face. When the shot changes, the mug is almost set down on the table.(00:00:58)
Other mistake: Early in the episode, Amy mentions that she is 7 1/2 months pregnant. This episode takes place around Valentine's Day, which means she would have become pregnant at either the end of June or the beginning of July. However, she revealed she was pregnant around the time Cory, Shawn and Topanga had their senior prom, which would have been around the end of May or beginning of June at the latest, prior to their high school Graduation. So she should be around 8 1/2 months pregnant at the least.
Continuity mistake: When Morgan emerges from the kitchen after Topanga picked her up from school, a wall is visible behind the door leading to the kitchen, even though the kitchen itself should be visible.(00:02:18)
