Trivia: Will Friedle has said that for the dream sequence with Nancy Kerrigan, they dyed his hair to match the ice-skating double's hair, instead of the other way around, likely because it is easier to darken someone's hair than it is to lighten it. Friedle wondered why they didn't just have him and the double wear beanies to cover their hair instead of sending him to a salon in Lake Placid to get his hair dyed.

Trivia: After landing the role of Eric, Will Friedle and his dad walked around Universal CityWalk Hollywood, where they ran into Jason Marsden, who was also up for the role of Eric. Marsden turned to his two friends and said "This is the prick who stole my job," which Friedle's dad finds to be hilarious.

Trivia: Despite being placed in the middle of the season, this was one of the first episodes filmed. Will Friedle and Rider Strong stated on the Pod Meets World podcast that they think it was originally supposed to be the pilot that was rejected by the studio, because footage from the episode is in the opening credits sequence.

The Happiest Show On Earth - S3-E21

Trivia: Will Friedle had a huge crush on Staci Keanan from Step By Step and begged the producers to get her on the show. They ended up putting her in this episode, but much to Will's chagrin, he didn't get to be part of the episode's Disney World plot, and thus didn't work with her.

Trivia: Connecticut native Will Friedle once wore a jersey for the Hartford Whalers - a defunct NHL team - with his name on it at a Disney event. The next day, he found an Anaheim Mighty Ducks jersey in his dressing room, who were owned by Disney at the time, implying that the studio wanted him to start wearing that to events instead.

Trivia: Rider Strong towered over the other child actors when the show began. He was 5'8", but never grew another inch for the rest of the show.

Trivia: For the scene where Eric sings "To Sir, with Love" to Mr. Feeny, the producers actually sent him to a professional singing coach for two weeks to prepare. Will Friedle wondered why they bothered when the scene was played off as a joke.

Trivia: Will Friedle said he was approached by Michael Jacobs towards the end of season one and told that he was gaining too much weight, following the filming of a scene where he hops over a fence. He attributed this to having a case of Coke placed in his trailer every morning that would be gone by the end of the day. He proceeded to slim down ahead of filming for season two.

Trivia: Will Friedle once received a phone call from a Disney executive inquiring about a pair of black dress socks worn by Eric, to which he told them he didn't have them.

Trivia: Guest star Jim Abbot reportedly didn't know he was going to be appearing in this episode. He thought he was just there to visit the set and meet the cast and crew. He became extremely nervous when he arrived, and they just handed him a script. Rider Strong speculated it was a miscommunication, as the producers probably asked him to make an appearance, which Abbot misinterpreted as visiting.

Trivia: Betsy Randle revealed on the Pod Meets World podcast that her recurring role on Home Improvement is what secured her getting the role of Amy Matthews for this show.

Trivia: Danielle Fishel and Matthew Lawrence dated around the filming of season six. Fishel said they both kept the relationship quiet, as they didn't want it to be a big deal on the set.

Trivia: Danielle Fishel revealed in 2022 to an incredulous Rider Strong that she had a crush on him through the show's first two seasons.

Trivia: The friendship handshake between Cory and Shawn was created by Ben Savage and Rider Strong themselves. Strong said they created it as a handshake for their real-life friendship and didn't intend for it to end up on the show as well.

Trivia: Rider Strong kept the leather jacket worn by Shawn after the show ended. He says someone stole it out of his car a couple years later. A fan found a replica of the jacket, and it was presented to him at a fan event in Philadelphia. He ended up leaving it on the shuttle bus on his way to the airport after the event. He sarcastically feels owning such a jacket is a curse. He also claims to have stolen the painting that was in the college student union set.

Trivia: One of the drawers in the Matthews' kitchen was filled with candy for the cast to eat, as the parents of the child cast members reportedly asked for craft services to not have excessive junk food provided to them.
