Terra Nova (2011)

Vs. - S1-E9

Revealing mistake: Dr. Shannon identifies the skeleton as being a middle-aged male, but the skull is female. A male skull has a more pronounced ridge over the eye orbits, a sloping forehead, a longer mastoid process, and the skull widens at the back, unlike a female's that is more parallel.

Coma (1978)

Plot hole: At the Jefferson Institute, to evade the security guards, Dr. Wheeler climbs into the space above the ceiling, crawls over the air ducts, then onto a catwalk, and finally escapes lying atop an ambulance heading to the airport, then immediately goes to the hospital to warn Dr. Harris. Throughout this entire ordeal she never gets disheveled, nor does her white doctor's uniform ever get dirty or wrinkled. She is perfectly clean and groomed.

Terra Nova (2011)

Show generally

Continuity mistake: When Skye, Josh, and the other teens reach the waterfall, Skye says she's taking the shorter (and more dangerous) route. After the others have left to take the longer path, Skye strips down to her bikini, drops her outer clothes on the ground, then jumps off a 45-foot cliff into the water below, with Josh following her. When they meet up with the other teens shortly after, Skye is suddenly fully dressed again, even though her clothing was left atop the cliff, and her wet hair is now dry.

Terra Nova (2011)

Show generally

Continuity mistake: At the waterfall, after jumping off the cliff and into the water, Skye leads Josh to the rock carvings. Josh's wet hair keeps changing position from being completely slicked back, to partially covering his forehead, to being completely forward over his brow.

Ben-Hur (1959)

Trivia: The scene where Judah Ben Hur is nearly tossed out of the chariot during the race was real and unplanned. However, it was Charlton Heston's stunt double, Joe Canutt, son of legendary stuntman Yakima Canutt, who choreographed and directed the race scene, that was flipped over the chariot after refusing to use a safety harness. Although he could have been killed or maimed, Canutt only suffered minor injuries to his chin. The mishap was left in the movie, and the shot of Heston climbing back into the chariot was edited in later.

Mister Roberts (1955)

Factual error: The captain walks through the wheelhouse to the outer deck to water his potted palm tree. Even though the ship is at sea, there is no one on the bridge, and the ship's wheel can be seen through the window, moving back-and-forth, steering the ship by itself. A naval ship, particularly during WWII, would always have a crew at the helm and the wheelhouse would never be left empty.

The Parent Trap (1961)

Continuity mistake: When Maggie and "Sharon" are having a picnic in the city park, they have a large wicker picnic basket. After they are done, and are walking home through the park, the picnic basket is no where to be seen. They have apparently just left it behind.

Other mistake: In both the books and the movies, Harry's Invisibility Cloak can always be seen until it is worn. In Diagon Alley, just before the Gringott's break-in, Ron pulls out the cloak to cover Harry and Griphook, but it turns invisible before he puts it on them. Ron merely mimes the motion of covering them.

Question: After Phillip frees her, why did Syrena then go to find the chalices and give them to Jack Sparrow? She could have just left and taken Phillip with her.

raywest

Chosen answer: She most likely went to stop the ritual, she probably didn't want her tear to be used by the likes of Blackbeard. She knew that Jack would use it wisely.

Sex and the City (1998)

Continuity mistake: When Hermione apparates herself, Harry, and Ron away from the wedding, she does not have her beaded bag, nor is it on her person when they first appear in London. After ducking into the alley, she suddenly has it in her hand. From then on, she always has it.

raywest

Continuity mistake: Near the end, when Hermione jinxes Harry's face to disguise him, she removes his trademark glasses to hide his identity and shoves them into her own pocket. Harry is still without his glasses during the confrontation at Malfoy Manor where his identity remains in doubt (his glasses would give him away). However, as Wormtail (Pettigrew) is taking both Ron and Harry to the cellar, Harry's glasses are suddenly back on his face, even though Hermione was separated from the group.

Revealing mistake: When Harry walks across the frozen pond, both in his shoes and when he is barefoot, there are no footprints left on the ice. The pond is covered with a light snow, that Harry brushes away to see the Sword of Gryffindor beneath the frozen surface. The snow would show any tracks.

Inside Man (2006)

Continuity mistake: Near the end, when Jodie Foster barges in to see Christopher Plummer at the barber, she has a tote bag. She sits in an empty barber chair and places the bag on the floor before speaking to Plummer. As she rises to leave, she picks up the bag, but when the shot cuts to her just as she walked out the door, she is no longer carrying it. Both hands are clearly visible as she buttons her jacket, and the bag is not in either hand, nor is it slung over her wrist or arm. It is simply not there. This particular shot may only be visible in the theatrical and widescreen DVD versions, and not in an edited and "pan and scan" format.

Angels & Demons (2009)

Question: What's the story behind Langdon's Mickey Mouse watch? He alludes to it, but never explains it.

raywest

Chosen answer: In the book it is explained that the watch was a gift from his parents on his ninth birthday.

National Velvet (1944)

Revealing mistake: When Velvet and Mi are talking to the jockey in the pub, there is a blackboard behind him listing the menu. However, all the writing is backwards. The film negative apparently got flipped, in this print at least, resulting in a reversed image. This is the only scene where reversed lettering is seen.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 mistake picture Video

Continuity mistake: At the Ministry of Magic, as Yaxley is reprimanding Ron, who is disguised as Reg Cattermole, the initial on Yaxley's Ministry tie pin changes direction. In one shot, the letter "M" is tilted to the left, and in a subsequent shot, it's slanted in the opposite direction.

The Lovely Bones (2009)

Trivia: Peter Jackson, the director, makes a cameo appearance in the film. Just after Susie's death, when her father, Jack, comes out of the photo store with the roll of Susie's film he had developed, Jackson is the customer in the background who is looking at a video camera.
