National Velvet (1944)

Trivia: "King Charles," the horse that played Velvet's thoroughbred gelding, the "Pie," was a grandson colt of the famous American racehorse, Man O' War. After the movie, "King Charles" was given to Elizabeth Taylor, who played Velvet. She kept him for the rest of his life.

Trivia: In the flashback scene where Roseanne has just given birth to DJ, the new-born baby is Mathew Fishman, the brother of Michael Fishman, who plays DJ. Matthew later appeared in Season 8, "The Fifties Show" episode as "Stinky." The two brothers have a strong resemblance.

This is a movie in-joke because at that time, Grable was married to Harry James, the famous bandleader, in real life.

Trivia: Charles Howard (Seabiscuit's owner) married second wife Marcela Zabala Howard. Marcela's sister, Anita Zabala, was already married to Lindsey Howard, Charles' son. Though the movie never mentions it, Charles Howard actually had three sons from his first marriage not just the one who died (who was not as young as depicted in the movie).

Trivia: When the 2015 Marty Jr. is walking across the street and a car stops, almost hitting him, he bangs both hands on the hood and yells, "Hey! I'm walkin' here!"I'm walkin' here!" This is an exact recreation of Dustin Hoffman's scene in 'Midnight Cowboy'.
