Continuity mistake: When the crew are in the cockpit talking about Miranda, Jayne is in the background holding his head with his left hand. 5-6 shots later he is holding it with his right hand. Continuity mistake: When Buffy is fighting the three Hellhounds outside the school, she kills one of them and the other two enter the school, having heard some music playing from inside. But when Buffy follows them inside, the music has stopped.

Continuity mistake: Seeing as how the original sets for the ship's interior from "Firefly" were demolished after the show got cancelled, the interior had to be re-built from scratch for Serenity. Because of this, there are some noticeable differences between the two. For example: The long corridor that holds the entrances to the crew's sleeping quarters is a lot wider. The hand rail on the stairs leading from the infirmary to the cargo bay is missing. The back wall of the cargo bay, the entire engine room (including Kaylee's hammock), some of the table settings in the kitchen and the furniture in the lounge area are all different to how they were in "Firefly".

Continuity mistake: During River's first fight scene she climbs some stairs. She then does two forward flips down the stairs. As she lands, her hair is raised from doing the flips but in the immediate shot her hair is down again. (00:34:55)

Continuity mistake: When Amy's dad stands up to present his speech at her wedding, a tear runs down the right side of Amy's face. In the next shot of her the right side of her face is completely dry.

Continuity mistake: When Buffy and Faith are fighting the vampires after going down the manhole, one of the vampires tries to drown Buffy. After she pretends to be dead and attacks him with a sword, her face and hair are almost bone dry.

Continuity mistake: After Xander and Oz's "Kryptonite" conversation, Buffy tosses a book onto the table and stands up to leave. The book lands partially on top of another book and slides almost off it. In the next shot the book is lying on top of the other book perfectly.

Continuity mistake: While Zoe determines the location of Miranda, there are two shots of Jayne with his arms down by his sides - one where he is standing behind Inara and one with Wash in the foreground. When it cuts back to the shot of him standing behind Inara, his left hand is on his belt. His hand then returns to its original place when it cuts back to Wash. (01:04:20)

Continuity mistake: When the cast are at the Miranda colony and discover that everyone is dead, there is a rotating shot of River as she realises what happened. Prior to this there is a brief closeup shot of the rest of the cast as they turn to face her. Jayne turns to his right, but in the following rotating shot of River he has turned from his left. Continuity mistake: Towards the end of the motorbike scene, Matt performs a wheely and overtakes Echo. In the following shot Echo is in front of him again.

Continuity mistake: In the scene where the Nemesis kills the 13 S.T.A.R.S members, after it blows up the sniper on the roof an additional S.T.A.R.S member can be seen outside the building on the right who wasn't there earlier. He then disappears shortly afterwards.

Continuity mistake: In the scene where Jayne is telling Simon and River to keep clear of Saffron, he is holding some things wrapped in tin foil (possibly food). He places them on a table next to him. River then calls Saffron a liar. In the following shot of Jayne, one of the food packets has been torn open. River later says that "Jayne" is a girl's name. The food packet that was torn open is now intact.

Continuity mistake: When Shepherd Book tells everyone about the electrical nets, Jayne says, "One day you're gonna tell us all how a preacher knows so damn much about crime." Shepherd then turns to leave. But in the immediate close up of him and Mal, he turns to leave again.

Continuity mistake: In Niska's office, behind his desk, there is a door that slides open to a small torture chamber. In "War Stories," there is a small staircase that leads into this torture chamber behind the door. However, in "The Train Job" (the first time we see this chamber) there is no staircase.
