Trivia: In 1996, Roger Bowen, who played Henry Blake, died of a heart attack the day after McLean Stevenson - who played Blake's role in the TV series - died from the same cause.

Trivia: This episode's airing was postponed for almost a year following the Virginia Tech massacre. Coincidentally, a similar event happened to David Boreanaz almost exactly eight years earlier when the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" episode "Earshot" was postponed following the Columbine school massacre.

Trivia: Because the Jackal and Mulqueen don't meet until near the film's climax, Bruce Willis and Richard Gere were never together for the majority of filming. They have both since described principal photography as resembling production of two separate movies. And reportedly when they would meet, they would ask each other "How's your movie going?"

Trivia: While Bob Newhart is a father himself, he was adamant about Bob Hartley not having any children. When the writers told him they wanted to introduce a child in season six, he told them the script was good, and then asked them who was going to play Bob.

Trivia: This film features five stars of Joss Whedon's "Buffyverse": writer/director/star Amber Benson (Tara Maclay), James Marsters (Spike), Andy Hallett (Lorne), Jeff Rickets (Watcher's Council member), and David Fury (producer/writer/occasional cameos). Emma Caulfield (Anya) also filmed scenes, but they were accidentally taped over and never re-shot, while Tressa DiFiglia is the ex-wife of Nicholas Brendon (Xander Harris).
