Deliberate mistake: It is totally unlikely that a museum as careful and important as the Smithsonian would leave the crates un-nailed, which could make the pieces inside get damaged. Of course if the crates weren't open, none of the figures could come up to life.

Tail Sting (2001)
Deliberate mistake: When the captain jumps towards Scott, the distance between the two rows of seats is three times bigger than the other rows shown, obviously to allow for the fight, but still really weird when you look at it.

Live Free or Die Hard (2007)
Deliberate mistake: When John crashes the car against the elevator room, the cables he and the woman hold on to are clean, when they should be greasy - thus allowing for them to hold safely.

Ratatouille (2007)
Deliberate mistake: Main headlines in newspapers appear translated for each country for the kids to understand it, but the rest of the news appear in English, despite the movie taking place in Paris. Also, most signs -such as the poisons in the window shop- have labels written in English.
Suggested correction: By that logic, it's a mistake that the characters speak English. It's an American movie set in France, and like you said, it's a kids' movie. Everything is in English for simplicity's sake.

Superman (1978)
Deliberate mistake: Before Superman traps the black missile, its beam is really big and covers half of the lettering on the side. When Superman is behind, the fire is much smaller and the lettering is visible, allowing us to see Superman.

Superman II (1980)
Deliberate mistake: French officers and firemen speak in English between them.

Superman II (1980)
Deliberate mistake: When the villains rampage the White House, the flag's base remains on the ceiling, and the flag pole falls inside the house. So the final scene with Superman carrying the flag and its base as if it had been previously stolen or destroyed, is nonsensical, but it looks very patriotic indeed.

Mission: Impossible 3 (2006)
Deliberate mistake: Bare shoulders are forbidden in the Vatican premises, so the sexy dresses in the party would not be allowed.

Superman II (1980)
Deliberate mistake: Luthor and Teschmaker visit the North Pole protecting themselves against the cold. Lois manages to wander around with a mere, but sexy, shirt.

Superman III (1983)
Deliberate mistake: There is no way for Gus to jump over the terrace with the skis since there's no ramp. He would have crashed against the wall and the flower pots we saw in a previous shot.

Hulk (2003)
Deliberate mistake: When Hulk meets his father at the lab, each one's eyes have a special light on them. This adds for dramatic effect, but it's absurd because there is no direct source of light since each one is in front of the other and their faces are in shade in the rest of the shots.

Superman III (1983)
Deliberate mistake: When a man bumps into pole, it sounds as if a truck had crashed (which makes it funnier), but in reality he just bumped his chest.

Supergirl (1984)
Deliberate mistake: For dramatic purposes, when the film ends, Supergirl leaves a cloudy trace while she flies. No trace was seen during her previous flights.

The Incredibles (2004)
Deliberate mistake: In the Spanish version, the headlines of the newspapers are in Spanish, but the rest of the articles are in English. It helps supports the narration, but it causes a very weird effect.

The Great Dictator (1940)
Deliberate mistake: The barber is on the roof scarping from the stormtroopers and he falls down face through a window. When the shot changes to the inside of the house where the window is, he is falling on his back.

The Great Dictator (1940)
Deliberate mistake: When Hannah is lying on the floor there's a mild breeze blowing, causing the flowers and her hair to move. Seconds before the movie ends, Hannah hears Chaplin's words and looks around. Although the flowers in the back keep moving, her hair is still for several seconds until the camera comes closer to her. Then the music starts in crescendo and her hair comes to life again, which makes a more dramatic ending.

The Great Dictator (1940)
Deliberate mistake: When Chaplin's plane turns upside down, he falls off but grabs himself to a stick. On a wide shot you see him facing to the back of the plane. In the closer shot he is facing 90ยบ to its left, probably to allow for the dialogue scene between him and the officer.

Finding Nemo (2003)
Deliberate mistake: Sydney's real harbour skyline has some neon signs on top of buildings. In the movie all them are omitted, presumably for advertising and aesthetic purposes.

Bedknobs And Broomsticks (1971)
Deliberate mistake: During Lansbury and Dr. Brown's dance scene under the water, the drawings behind them (with couples of fishes sitting on their seats) are a still drawing, no animation at all.
