Continuity mistake: There is a scene at the school, where Quentin and Nancy are talking by the lockers. Quentin is wearing a Joy Division shirt. The jacket he is wearing over the shirt keeps changing depending on whether it's a closeup of Quentin or a shot of both him and Nancy. You can easily tell, as the band's name is partially obscured during closeup and fully revealed when it's further away. This changes back and forth several times during that scene. Quentin doesn't move enough to warrant the jacket changing so noticeably. (00:18:15)
Continuity mistake: In the diner, a guy puts a bunch of dollar bill and coins on the edge of the table. From the opposite angle its position changes.
Continuity mistake: When Nancy is in the drugstore and she keeps slipping in and out of sleep, Freddy is walking toward the camera running a finger blade on a pipe, and you can see there is a raised pipe joint just before the camera cuts to a rear view of Freddy, and the pipe joint that his finger blade was going to scrape has now gone. Trivia: When Nancy is drowning in the blood, the blood breaks through the floor to pour into the bedroom downstairs. This is a tribute to the original's famous bed-death scene where Johnny Depp is slaughtered by Freddy, causing the room to be drenched in his blood. (01:23:30)
Trivia: When Nancy is looking for information on the other kids in her class, she comes across a classmate who posts video blogs of his experiences with Freddy. This is Aaron Yoo, who played Chewie in Friday the 13th's remake.
Trivia: Prior to production, there were rumors that Billy Bob Thornton would play the new Freddy Krueger. Original Freddy actor Robert Englund was very instrumental in reporting and talking about this rumor, and would publicly speak about it, even implying it was a done-deal on several occasions. This caused some minor confusion when Thornton was not cast, and it turns out that Englund was talking about it so much (especially in implying Thorton was in the film) in an attempt to pressure the studio into casting Thornton, as he felt Thornton would be the perfect actor for a modern Freddy.
Freddy Krueger: Little Nancy. Now that you caught me, what game do you wanna play next?
Nancy Holbrook: Fuck you!
Freddy Krueger: Ooh, sounds like fun.
Jesse: What do you want from me?
Freddy Krueger: I don't know, Jesse. You think you can turn back time? ANSWER ME!
Jesse: No.
Freddy Krueger: You think you can bring the dead back to life?
Jesse: No.
Freddy Krueger: No? I didn't fucking think so.
Freddy Krueger: One, two, guess who's coming for you?
Question: At the beginning of the movie, when Dean is asleep, Freddy holds a sharp knife to his throat and cuts it while in the real world it looks like Dean is doing it himself. When Kris falls asleep in class, she is trying to escape from Freddy but is forced into a chair in the back of the classroom. When she wakes up screaming why is she still in her own seat instead of a seat in the back of the class like in her nightmare?
Question: Why were Quentin and Nancy upset when they found out they'd told the truth about Freddy? I'd have thought that kind of reaction would come if they thought he was guilty and found out he was innocent.
Chosen answer: They were upset because they realise that Freddy is coming to get revenge on them for his death.
Answer: They realised that they really had been molested by Freddy.
Question: Why does Freddy come back in the end? I thought he was dead? Why is he killing now the adults?
Answer: It's a nod to the original Nightmare on Elm Street where the same thing happened at the end of the movie to Nancy's mother. Also you have to remember that Gwen, whom he killed at the end, was part of the mob who burned him alive. Can we say revenge?

Answer: It is not consistently portrayed throughout the series where victims will end up when attacked by Freddy. Some victims are shown running from Freddy down hallways and their dead bodies are found in their bed, others are shown "sleepwalking", and end up being found relative to where they were in the dream world. There doesn't appear to be any rhyme or reason for this inconsistency.
