Continuity mistake: When Joe has been kidnapped, and then killed one of the bad guys, Milo says to Pablo, "Take the corpse out of here and fix Mr Hallenbeck a drink." Pablo is holding his gun in his right hand, but in the next wide shot Pablo is now holding his gun in his left hand. (01:03:10)
Visible crew/equipment: Close to the end of the film when we see Joe in the woods with all the bad guys, he has his hand in the puppet that his daughter gave to him, now as the camera pans down from a wide shot, look to the right beyond the tree and there is a crewmember standing next to a red ladder, the shot is quick but very visible. (01:13:25)
Revealing mistake: Close to the end of the film when Joe is in the woods with all the bad guys, he starts to shoot them, as he shoots the first bad guy, if you pause it before he shoots, you can see that there is a rather large lump in the guys forehead where he gets shot, obviously some kind of squib or something to make the effect of being shot in the head. (01:13:30)
Continuity mistake: Watch closely when Joe and Jimmy steal the white BMW. Jimmy is carrying the briefcase with the money in it, and all he does is get in to the passenger seat with it. Yet at the end of the movie, the police chief finds it in the boot. (01:16:20 - 01:35:20)
Continuity mistake: During the chase scene with the Cadillac and Sunbird, the Caddy follows the Sunbird over a berm, launching it into the air. When it lands, the right front wire-wheel hub cap comes off. Briefly the plain black wheel is seen. While going over the cliff, the hubcap is back, and is seen to be back on when the Caddy flips into the pool. (01:17:15 - 01:18:05)
Continuity mistake: In the limo chase scene on the freeway, Joe and Jimmy overtake a big truck and pull in front of it, yet in two following shots, if you look out the back of the window, the big truck has disappeared, then reappears on a wide shot. (01:17:35)
Continuity mistake: On the freeway chase scene, when Jimmy Dix and Joe Hallenbeck are shot at, the window gets shattered by a bullet. In some later shots, the window is completely intact. (01:18:05)
Continuity mistake: In the limo chase scene on the freeway, just after Baynard's bodyguards shoot at Jimmy and Joe in the BMW, the limo speeds away and Joe drives after them, he clashes with two cars and the right side of the BMW gets damaged slightly if you watch closely, then in the following shot as we see the BMW speed off, the side where it was damaged has repaired itself. (01:18:10)
Continuity mistake: When the red Sunbird and the Caddy are driving sown the steep hill, the windshield on the Sunbird changes from passenger side busted out, to completely gone, to completely intact, when they hit the tree at the bottom. (01:18:15)
Factual error: When the black car lands upside down in the pool, you can see that it lands as if it were dropped straight down. The car should have hit the pool at an angle, for it was speeding off a hilltop at a very high rate of speed when it entered the pool. (01:18:35)
Continuity mistake: The whole car lands in the swimming pool, with the back end stuck up in the air and the front end down because of the weight of the engine. A couple of shots later with Darian and the pool owner on the phone, the car is now sat up on its front end, which is now propped up on the side of the pool. (01:18:55 - 01:19:45)
Other mistake: Joe fires lots of shots from his gun at the car in the swimming pool, he then soon after threatens to shoot his daughter with the pistol pressed up against her head. This wouldn't have been possible without burning her from the heat at the end of the barrel, but there's not a mark on her afterwards. (01:19:20)
Continuity mistake: When Wayans and Willis are chasing the limo on the freeway, Wayans draws a picture of a bomb to hold up to the guys in the limo. He draws a large circle with about 6 lines coming out of it with the word "BOM" underneath it. When he holds the picture up at the window, there is only 1 line radiating from the circle. (01:20:40)
Suggested correction: The same drawing is used, the top is slightly cropped but the lines are still visible.
It's not the same picture. In the scene (not screenshot), the top isn't cropped and you see there're fewer lines, and the circle is different. Not only that, but we see in the car "BOM" is written differently than what we see when it's against the window. Also, when he first draws the bomb, the holes in the paper are on the left, but against the window they're on the right. One could argue he flipped the page over to start again, but we already know the final drawing is different.
Continuity mistake: Marcone goes into the parking lot, notices the white BMW, and shoots out the rear passenger window. The front window is now perfectly intact when previously it was shot at during the limo chase. (01:21:05 - 01:31:15)
Continuity mistake: When Bruce Willis and Damon Wayans are trying to tell the guards of the senator that they are carrying a bomb, they shoot the side window of their car only once but there are at least three or four holes in it. (01:21:10)
Continuity mistake: When Joe and Jimmy are walking down a tunnel going to Marcone's office, several players are running down the tunnel, and then you hear the voice of the big guy (Jimmy broke his nose in the pool scene). Lots of players are running down the tunnel, yet when the big guy grabs him all you see are the players in the distance, when we should see loads more players running past Jimmy, Joe and the big guy. (01:21:35)
Continuity mistake: After the limo crashed and Joe is standing next to it, take a look at the rear wheel of the limo. In one shot it isn't moving, in the next shot it is. This keeps alternating a few times. (01:22:40)
Continuity mistake: When Joe and Milo are up on the steel structure where the stadium lights are, just before Joe throws the bag of ammo over the edge, a sniper runs to the right in the background, then in a following shot, the sniper runs to the right again. It is the same sniper. (01:31:15)
Factual error: In the final scene Dix is carrying a beer in the hand he just got shot in. After being shot in the palm of the hand there would be too much bone/ muscle trauma to be able to grip anything for quite a while, if ever. (01:34:15)
Plot hole: When the police chief asks Joe 'where's the briefcase they were telling me about?' Joe tells him to look in the back seat of the white BMW. There are a couple of problems with this. First, the police chief is looking for a case with a bomb in it, because he received a phone call from the guy who had his BMW stolen. Even if he knew about the money, which is unlikely, the police chief has no way of knowing that the case he is about to open is not a bomb, since no-one saw Marcone steal the case with the bomb in it. Yet he opens it without calling the bomb squad. Second, Joe saw Jimmy put the case with the bomb in the back seat, so why doesn't he warn the police chief about it? (01:35:00)
