Animal House

Corrected entry: In the horse stable, Flounder refers to D-Day and Bluto as "Brother BB, Brother Bluto!"

Correction: He may say it quickly - but Flounder does say "Brother D-Day, Brother Bluto". No mistake.

Zwn Annwn

Corrected entry: At the end of the movie when the ROTC men are in the parade twirling their guns, the second time around the first and third men on the far left row fail to twirl their guns.

Correction: Having been in parades and in Honor Guards, I can tell you, it happens. Character mistake.

Guy

Corrected entry: In the scene where Larry drops the drunk girl at her home in a shopping cart, he leaves her at the mayor's house In the next scene you see the dean talking to the mayor, with the drunk girl in the dean's house.

Correction: That's the dean's wife.

randomguy

Corrected entry: As the Delta Tau Chi house is being gutted, you can see the old moving man tear down the letters as well as the Delta Tau Chi flag hanging above the balcony. Yet later, right before a beaten-up Otter is being brought in by D-Day, the flag is hanging back up in the same place.

Correction: They key word being 'later'. Someone put it back.

Corrected entry: When Otter hit the golf ball that hit Neidermeyer in the head, there was a severe slice on that ball but it still managed to hit Neidermeyer in the head. Any golfer would know that the ball would have been nowhere near its intended target.

Correction: This assumes Neidermeyer WAS the intended target. Looked accidental to me - not that anyone cared.

Corrected entry: When the dean's wife and the guy are starting to go at it in his room, she kicks off her shoe. It hits a glass table and you hear glass shatter, but the glass clearly doesn't break.

Correction: The glass does break. If you look closely, you can see the glass fall in a bit. If you look even closer, you can see broken glass, even though it is still part of the table, as none of it has fallen to the ground.

Corrected entry: When the frat house is celebrating the new pledges they are all in a bunch trying to dance to Louie Louie. During this scene Bluto is completely out of sync and is banging into everyone. While he is banging into everyone watch Boon - he is laughing and tries to cover it up by putting his beer bottle in front of his mouth.

Correction: This is not a mistake- If I were at a party and someone acted like Bluto I would laugh as well. Also, if someone is a pledge they might not want the active members to think he is laughing at them so he might hide his laugh.

Corrected entry: When Neidermyer was on the horse he says "You're all worthless and weak. Now drop and give me ten." This line was used at the end of the Twisted Sister song "Were Not Gonna Take It".

ShooterMcGavin34

Correction: All well and good, but not really trivia.

Corrected entry: At the parade scene near the end, after the car has turned into the death mobile, D-day drives towards the bleachers and yells, "Ramming Speed." As the shot quickly changes to face the bleachers, you can see that the bleachers are empty.

Correction: You can see people running away as the car is driving toward it.

Corrected entry: When Dean Wormer calls the Delta lads into his office to read their grades, he congratulates Kruger for being at the top of the Frat with a 1.2 GPA. But when he reads all the grades out, Hoover has a 1.6 GPA.

Correction: Dean Wormer actually states that Kruger is at the top of the Pledge class. He is referring to the group of pledging freshmen, not the existing members. Of the existing members, Hoover is the GPA leader.

Corrected entry: When the guys are on their way to get the college girls, someone yells out they are "In like Flint" referring to the 1967 James Coburn movie, however Animal House takes place in 1962.

Correction: That 1967 movie's title was a play on a phrase dating from the 1930s or 1940s: "in like Flynn" -- supposedly a reference to the ease with which film actor Errol Flynn bedded any woman he wanted. Therefore, it's quite possible that someone in Animal House would yell out "in like Flynn."

Corrected entry: In the scene where Bluto, D-Day, and Flounder bring Niedermyer's horse into the dean's office, the horse dies and collapses in front of the couch. When they show the office again with the man with the measuring tape, the horse is behind the couch.

Correction: Since the dead horse could not be removed in time for the Mayor's visit, Dean Wormer could have had the maintenance man move the couch in front of the horse.

Corrected entry: During the parade, part of an out-of-control float crashes through what is supposed to be an auto showroom window. At the top of the window is a raised sectional door on tracks; the opening is really a garage doorway with a fake window added.

Correction: That's a raised metal security grid that goes over the window when the store is closed.

Corrected entry: During the parade fiasco, Bluto climbs onto the awning of a building to get away from the ROTC geeks. You can see pre-fab steps installed on the awning supports to keep him (Belushi) from slipping.

Nicki

Correction: They were supposed to be there, to enable parade workers to climb on top of the building in order to hang the "Welcome Alumni" banner over the street, and to take it down afterward.

Correction: They do not show him put the plate on the tray, when they show the wide shot you can see the empty plate on the counter and a different full plate on the tray.

Corrected entry: In Dean Wormer's office, a man uses a measuring tape to compare the dimensions of the door opening and the dead horse. Then you hear a chainsaw, implying the horse was too large for the door. It might have been too heavy to carry in one piece, but by his measurements it would have easily fit through the door.

brantlee

Correction: That is the joke - he measured the horse's length, which if you carried it the length across the door opening it would not fit. Even by looking at the horse, you can tell it would fit through the door if moved the right way.

Corrected entry: If all the fraternity brothers were expelled, how can they have graduation dates, shown at the end of the movie?

Correction: The year after the name signifies what their graduation year should be (as in "Class of XX"). My Dad didn't graduate from college because he became very ill in his last year and had to drop out, but he still got alumni mail with "'46" after his name. Also, it is never explicitly stated whether or not the boys remained expelled, as Hoover is last seen asking the Dean for "one more chance."

Corrected entry: The name of the Fraternity is Delta Tau Chi. In the song at the end, it says "At Delta Chi, you can't go wrong!"

Correction: Fraternities are well known for shortening their names as nick names.

Corrected entry: How on earth can Bluto and his mate not know that the exam paper they are completing is different to the one they stole and studied for? They'd have to study for it - what's the point of stealing it otherwise? It is not a multiple choice exam - they are writing answers out in full. How can they not notice that the questions (and therefore the answers) are different to the ones they memorised? The day after the exam Eric Stratton announces that Bluto had stolen the wrong EXAM, not the wrong ANSWERS. Why do they have to be told later that someone 'stole the wrong exam paper'? Nobody is so stupid - or lazy - that they would not notice that they are sitting the wrong exam. In order to make such a mistake they would have to be illiterate, not just stupid. And as the closing sequence makes clear the Delta House fraternity members aren't even stupid - they are just lazy.

Correction: The Deltas weren't trying to steal a copy of the exam for study; rather, they stole what they thought was a copy of answers to the exam. However, the Omegas planted a modified set of answers in the trash, which Bluto later retrieved from the dumpster. So, the exam would look exactly the same with the same questions, but the Deltas had memorized the wrong answers.

Charles Austin Miller

Correction: The answer lies in your submission. They are lazy, when they stole the exam, they looked up the answers and then memorized only the answers and not the questions. When taking the exam they did not bother to read the questions, just fill in the answers that they memorized.

ctown28

As a teacher I have seen smart kids cheat off others because they too lazy to study, or studying wasn't a priority. One student was copying the answers from another student, but obviously couldn't read her writing and on a question about what what a certain group of people ate, she wrote "clouds."

Bishop73

In the case of Animal House, the Deltas had stolen what they believed were the answers to the exam, not knowing that the Omegas had planted fake answers in the trash.

Charles Austin Miller

The Deltas didn't look up the answers. They stole what they thought were the answers to the exam, not knowing that the Omegas had planted fake answers in the trash. So, the exam looked exactly the same, but the Deltas memorized the fake answers.

Animal House mistake picture

Continuity mistake: During the classroom scene, Donald Sutherland writes the word "Satan" on the board. In the first shot, the "t" in Satan in directly over the crease on the chalkboard. In the next shot, it is clearly on one side of the crease. (00:18:00)

Question: Why didn't the mayor try and have the Deltas arrested for both the mayhem they caused at the parade and that one of them may have had fun with his underaged daughter? Obviously the audience knows the member didn't but the mayor doesn't.

Rob245

Answer: There's no indication that the Deltas didn't face legal ramifications from their actions at the parade, nor that Pinto didn't get in trouble (when we last see him, he's literally being chased by the mayor). The film ends at that point and, although the film provides title cards telling us what happened to the characters far in the future, we don't see the immediate aftermath.
