Revealing mistake: Wires lowering the alien spaceship are perfectly visible. In the following close-up they're gone.
Visible crew/equipment: At the very end, the camera crew is visible reflected in the side of the car.
Revealing mistake: When the huge explosion happens, it is blatantly obvious that Eric and his wheelchair are superimposed in the shot. When the main scene shakes a bit, the superimposed wheelchair does not move. This same explosion minus Eric and his wheelchair appears in an alternate ending. It's the same exact shot.
Continuity mistake: Out in the desert, just before MAC points out the sign, everybody sees horses. In a wide shot both the horses and sign aren't there.
Visible crew/equipment: When the FBI guys decide to follow the car to the McDonalds, the camera is visible in the side as they pull away.
Revealing mistake: When Eric fails into the water, you see MAC sit up into the shot. This was obviously done by rear projection, with MAC inserted into the shot. Notice the difference in contrast between MAC and the other shot in front of it.
Visible crew/equipment: When Eric falls off the cliff, the little girl comes to the rock and calls for help. The camera operator's shadow is visible next to her in the overhead shot.
Revealing mistake: When MAC is stuck to the windshield at the beginning, in one shot it appears he is just a sticker.
Continuity mistake: When the kids dance in the parking lot, they swap positions 180ยบ just as the family car arrives.
Continuity mistake: When Mac is dancing on the counter, disguised as a bear, he is twice as tall as he is for the rest of the film.
Continuity mistake: Mac jumps into the water feet first to save Eric, but when the angle cuts he is diving head first.
Continuity mistake: Before the wheelchair wipes out, while Eric is zooming down the hill, his hair is alternately still or moving wildly depending on the shot.
Revealing mistake: When Mac exits the vacuum cleaner, he is supposed to drink soda from a straw, but no liquid is seen going through it.
Continuity mistake: After the vacuum cleaner scene, Mac is drinking from a Coke can held by Eric. The can changes positions between shots.
Continuity mistake: The cops chase Mac down a hill and then follow Eric and Mac through a private garden. Cut to a close-up of the cops and they're back on the hill.
Revealing mistake: When Eric exits McDonald's, Mac's eyes are two big bulky motionless balls, revealing it's been changed for a puppet.
Continuity mistake: After the McDonald's scene, the cops chase Mac and are about to be run over by a white car. A frame later the car has turned to blue colour.
Continuity mistake: In McDonald's, when Mac is about to grab the cup, in the close-ups his eyes are white, big like a ping pong ball, and occupy the whole cut-out space in the disguise. In the wide angles, the eyes are smaller and big bags underneath show.
Continuity mistake: When Eric gets out of the water, his hairstyle swaps from parted to sideways.
Continuity mistake: When the family arrives at their new home, a mover employee is walking forward holding a blanket. When the angle changes he keeps walking but empty handed, blanket now on the floor, 5 meters ahead.
